On your own??? No you weren't! I said exactly the same thing and got lambasted. Just for the record, I totally agree with what you're saying. :-)

Is Holly Valance really one of us?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to steve55's topic in The Saints
He does when it suits him. I heard him talking to Jamie Theakston (A Brighton Fan) and he asked Craig David who he supported. CD replied, 'Chelsea'! -
The curse of Caulker. Relegated with Cardiff. Then QPR. Saints next???

At the start of the season I said he'd be off at the end of the season. He never stays anywhere long & was never going to be able to repeat the success of last season.

How long before you/we start to get really worried
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
I read we were interested in Grey from Brum but it looks like he's off to Leicester. Can't blame the lad. Got to be worth a punt for £3.75m. -
How long before you/we start to get really worried
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Already worried. Prediction going as planned. I said RK would struggle this season and will leave at the end of the season after narrowly avoiding relegation. Although the way things are I think we'll go down. Teams like Norwich and Bournemouth seem to be able to pick up points when the pressure is on. We just crumble. -
****e! As soon as they equalised and RK made those changes it was only ever going to end one way.

Palace 1 Saints 0 - The end of the world?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Ohio Saint's topic in The Saints
Not really. I was just being realistic, whilst others were getting all giddy and predicting a top 4 finish. We're just an average side who could finish anywhere between 7th and 17th. We could finish 18th, 19th or 20th based on current form, but I don't want to think about that. -
Palace 1 Saints 0 - The end of the world?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Ohio Saint's topic in The Saints
I was ridiculed pre-season for saying that the likes of Palace and Stoke and Leicester had all strengthened well and that I didn't feel that we were any better than them. -
Steven Davis: 'Southampton squad best since I joined'

Couldn't agree more. F***, that's twice in a month that I've agreed with something that you've posted on here. -
Saints V Swansea Post match jubilation
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Ohio Saint's topic in The Saints
Great to see Bertrand back in the starting 11. I wasn't expecting to see him for another week or two. I agree with what one or two are saying about Fonte not looking like he did last season but a lot has changed. He had Clyne and Alderwiereld offering cover last term. Let's be honest, Soares is certainly no, Clyne! -
I can still remember going to Liverpool in the 90's and being attacked by some of our own fans when I told them I lived in the North West. The fact I grew up in the South didn't matter, as far as they were concerned I was a scummy Northener who was going to get a kicking. At the time I vowed never to go again but that decision has relaxed with time.

The Jack Cork appreciation thread
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Forum lunatic? I've had that information from two completely different sources on two separate occasions. Why would I make it up? As I've said before, I'm not going to lose any sleep over people choosing whether or not they believe me. I'm happy to share the information I receive but the reality is that I've got far better things to do than sit on here making stuff up. The problem is that you post something and people immediately question your source. You supply that information and people still say you're a liar and reckon they know better than you. You can't win. -

Here's my 2 Centenary shirts. I've had the home one since '85 and as you can see, the sponsorship is long gone. The away shirt came to me after SCW left the club. They had a huge clear out at the training ground and there were black bin bags full of old shirts. I got this one and several of the white & green Hummel away shirts from the late 80's.

He was offered a contract that would have doubled his wages. He turned it down because he wanted to play football and he felt he'd get more of a chance to do that at Swansea than at Saints. The deal he got at Swansea is actually worse than what we offered, but he wanted to play football. You can't blame the lad for that. Some players would have taken the money and sat on the bench. -
I've got every shirt since 1976 with the exception of the usual 4 which were never available to the public.

I just don't understand why we persist with JWP. I'd have rather seen Davis playing that role and Romeu coming in to the starting 11. I totally agree with you about, Long & Juanmi. Players like that can change a game.
-
Didn't we lose there last season? If so, then it's a point gained when you compare like for like fixtures.
-
I'd be playing him at LB instead of Targett.
-
Play him in the cup game at MK Dons.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
Not sure if this has been posted before? Apologies if it has. Merson has rated each club's activity in the transfer market. Here's what he said about ours. SOUTHAMPTON: B- Players in: Steven Caulker (QPR, Loan), Jordy Clasie (Feyenoord), Juanmi (Malaga), Cuco Martina (FC Twente), Oriol Romeu (Chelsea), Cedric Soares (Sporting CP), Maarten Stekelenburg (Fulham, Loan), Virgil van Dijk (Celtic) Players out: Artur Boruc (Bournemouth), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool), Emmanuel Mayuka (Metz), Cody Cropper (MK Dons), Sam Gallagher (MK Dons, Loan), Jos Hooiveld (Released), Dani Osvaldo (Released), Omar Rowe (Released), Morgan Schneiderlin (Manchester United), Jake Sinclair (Released), Jack Stephens (Middlesbrough, Loan), Jordan Turnbull (Swindon, Loan) MERSE SAYS: I'm not sure about Virgil van Dijk at all because he's been playing for Celtic and hasn't had to head a ball. I'm very interested to see what happens with him, but they have kept Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama which is good news. Their start to the season has been a bit disappointing but they've had injuries so I'll give them a B-. ****ing moron! -

All these songs with lyrics about Virgil hating Pompey. I could understand it if there was some history but he comes from the Netherlands and probably couldn't give a **** about Pompey. He'd probably not even heard of them until yesterday. Imagine if Shane Long joined Ajax and their fans sang a song about him hating Ado Den Haag. It makes no sense at all. -
Wanyama and the St.Marys crowd ...boo or cheer ?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to manina-pub's topic in The Saints
You seem to be forgetting that what he's done is no different to what Morgan did last year. Did you wish that Morgan had left on deadline day last year? Morgan accepted the club's decision and got on with the job. If Vic is prepared to do the same then why give him ****? Nobody gave Morgan a hard time.
