I felt we had a problem before the season started. You could see that key areas hadn't been addressed and there wasn't enough quality in the squad. It's now blatantly obvious that we have a major problem.

The signings don't make any sense at all. I said this at the time and all I got was abuse. I had a £10 bet with a mate that GR would spend most of the season out injured. The moment we spent £12m on one player I thought, that's going to go tits up. He'll be off at the end of the season for about 1/4 of what we paid for him.

He was available too. Personally I'd have rather seen us spend the money on him than GR.

What's all this 'We all said'? If you look back you'll see that many of those who suggested this were often slagged off and told that they were clueless. It makes me laugh as the people who said 'we don't need defenders if out intention is to score one more than the opposition' are the people who are now saying, 'we should've strengthened the defence'.

Errr, wasn't this what we were saying as soon as we won promotion. Somebody, be it Cortese or Adkins has failed miserably at addressing the most important areas.

Derby went down with 11 pts. They won one game all season. If my memory serves me correctly it was a 1-0 win against Newcastle.

People need to stop dwelling on the past. It happened and it can't be changed so why waste energy worrying about it?

Really, why? Are you blind? Can you not see that he's clueless at this level? Bad signings. Terrible tactics. Give me one good reason why he shouldn't be replaced by somebody who's actually got a clue about how to keep this club in the Premiership.

We're a complete **** up at the back. I'd be inclined to go to 5 at the back just to try and stop us leaking goals.

Actually, now would be a good time to go, Nigel. There's plenty of vacant positions in the championship and in all fairness you'd do a good job at that level.

**** off Adkins. Blah, blah, blah. You've proved that you're a tactical nonse. You have to defend as well as attack yet you don't seem to realise that. We are paying the price heavily for Spunking the transfer kitty on a championship standard striker and an unproven midfielder who looks to be worth a fraction of the £12m wasted on him. your failure to bring in quality at the back has cost us big time. We are becoming a laughing stock. Now **** off so that somebody who knows what they are doing can try and spare us any more embarrassment.

Adkins is a tactical nightmare. Week after week he's shown us that he hasn't got a clue. We need to stop the rot as soon as possible.

The man is completely out of his depth. Tactically he's proving to be a complete nightmare. Thanks, Nigel but your time is up.

Well said, MLT. I think there's far too many people wearing rose tinted spectacles as far as Mr Cortese is concerned.

Do you really support Saints? If so you'll know that the manager's name is Nigel 'ADKINS', not Atkins.

No chance. He'll go abroad. Actually, thinking about it further. If Cortese had any kind of dream and ambition do you not think that he'd have signed better players than the **** we've signed this year?

So who's next? My money's on DLT.

J-Rod has been a complete waste of money. Mayuka is completely unknown. We should've kept Sharp, as others have said he was our in-form striker. Why get rid of him if Mayuka wasn't ready to play. It makes no sense and just reinforces the fact that Nigel has made some awful decisions this season. I have a gut feeling that if Sharp was still here he'd have scored more than J-Rod & Mayuka this season, but in reality we'll never know.

Tactically he's been a joke this season. I'd seriously be looking at someone with a bit of experience to come in and work alongside him.

I posted a thread like this at the start of the season and got absolutely slated for it. 7 games in and I think it's blatantly obvious that we spent very badly and have failed to strengthen in the areas that really needed it.

Just stick Chaplow in there. He really should've started at Everton but that's another story.
