  1. He's hardly been given the opportunity at Liverpool. Let's be honest, his form at Newcastle was what alerted Liverpool to him. It's not his fault that Kenny Dalglish tried to change him as a player as opposed to playing to his strengths. Allardyce knows what he's all about so let's see what he does at WHU. Personally I think it's a great bit of business for WHU. In my opinion a better option than Sharp or J-Rod.
  2. Oh please! He's got more about him than Crouch and I bet you loved him. He's a good player, just not a £35 million pound player, and that wasn't his fault! If you've got good supporting players (which we have) he'll do a great job.
  3. Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop. ****E!
  4. Lawrenson is a ****. He does nothing but talk **** and the BBC should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such an idiot to be part of their flagship football show. Let's not forget, he hasn't played for about 25 years. The game's changed a hell of a lot in that time.
  5. Exactly. We've signed nothing but championship standard players. We sign J-Rod. WHU get Carroll. I know who I'd rather have had. That's a real statement of intent from West Ham and exactly the sort of thing Saints should be looking to do if they're serious about staying up.
  6. Do you know what Turning Japanese is about? ****ing! Yeah, great idea. Let's all sing a song about ****ing to our Japanese players.
  7. Because we are building a team for the Championship. Nige knows he's not good enough for the Premiership but figured that he'd get him early so that he's familiar with his team mates who are also only fit for life in the Championship.
  8. This is laughable. Why are we signing more 'inexperienced' players in positions where we have plenty of options? I hope he proves me wrong but he hardly has the sort of experience that we need in the Premier league. I'm also getting increasingly concerned at how NA intends on keeping everybody happy. Oh, and how about we sign some ****ing defenders who can hack it at this level. PLEASE!
  9. I'd only be moving I'm on if we had an experienced premiership striker lined up to replace him, which I very much doubt we have. Someone like Bent or Defoe and we'd never get either of them.
  10. I'll bet you a cheese sandwich that we don't sign him.
  11. I'd still like to see us sign Owen. I doubt we will as he'll want to stay local to the NW but I genuinely feel we could benefit from a striker with his experience. He'll score goals and others could learn a lot from him.
  12. I honestly think it will read, played 6. Lost 6.
  13. Nice to see another 'realistic' fan speaking sense. Too many people on here live in the clouds. Ignore the people who will slag you off for being realistic. All this talk about European football is laughable. Saints are totally underprepared for life in the prem. Not one of our strikes looks like they'll be able to hack it in the prem. why pay £7m for J-Rod? That's a shocking bit of business as is Clyne & Davies. Average championship players at best. We have a perfectly good right back who must be wondering what the hell he's done wrong to lose his place to Clyne. If the management have got anything about them they'll go out and buy some experience. Even if We only get one season out of them. It's all about survival. I'd make Michael Owen a priority. He'll always score goals and others can learn a lot from a player with his experience.
  14. This is what happens when you don't prepare for life in the premiership & only sign average players like, clyne, j-rod and Davies. We lack any REAL quality. A proven premiership goal scorer would be a start & 2 CB's and a midfielder with experience at this level. I'm not convinced that Lambert, J-Rod, Sharpe or Lee are good enough for the prem. if we can't beat Wigan then what hope is there for the next 4 games? Man Utd, Arsenal, Villa & Everton. We're gonna be a laughing stock.
  15. Still on target for my 6 games played, 0 points prediction. We look ****ing clueless. I don't get the change in formation with players out of position. The whole thing just looks a mess.
  16. He's going to Norwich for just over £6m.
  17. Mate, this forum is full of people who always know better. I remember a few years ago when I reported about the bust up in the dressing room at Kenilworth Road. I knew about it because I know Dave Bassett and he told me exactly what had gone on. He had no option but to tell me all the details as he phoned my mobile by accident and left a message for Dennis Wise!!! :-0 I remember saying that Wise wouldn't be playing for Saints again and that the club would say that he was injured. This is exactly what happened yet certain people on the forum still told me that I was full of ****.
  18. He's having a medical tomorrow. He's agreed terms & Spurs have accepted QPR's bid. That sounds pretty solid to me. However, I accept that these things can still go tits up.
  19. Forte's 93rd minute goal against Torquay to put us 4-1 up. Never seen scenes like it. ****ing mental.
  20. I couldn't agree more. I'd love to see him at Saints. However, fellow TSF user, S-Clarke seems to think that he'll go for a lot more than £5m and it won't be to QPR.
  21. Forget Dawson going to QPR. S-Clarke has just told me that nothing's been agreed and there's no way he'll go for £5m. I bow to his superior knowledge on these matters. He's obviously got some inside information to which nobody else has access!
  22. Can't believe QPR are about to land Dawson for £5m from Spurs. He'd have been perfect for us. Why oh why are we not looking to add someone like this with premiership experience to our defence?
  23. Just went to put £5 on city to score more than 5 goals & could only get odds of 5/4. Looks like everybody is predicting a thrashing. At the start of the week I fancied a 6-0 win for city. On reflection I was being stupid. I think it will be 8 or 9.
  24. Can't believe that nobody's mentioned Lizzie Armitstead. Silver medalist in the women's road race. I'd do her before Pendleton.
