  1. Couldn't agree more. All of last season I was saying that we weren't good enough to go up. Looking back we obviously were, the league doesn't lie. However, upon reflection I think what I was getting at was that if we did go up we wouldn't be good enough to stay up. You could see that there was a huge gulf between us and a Premiership team. I can't believe Nigel still has a job. How many managers keep their job after a string of results and stats like we've had?
  2. Nigel Adkins is fast losing any respect that I had for him as a manager. He should do the decent thing and step down. The longer this goes on the worse it's going to be for all concerned. Please, Nigel. You'll gain a lot more respect by holding your hands up and admitting that you're not up to it.
  3. And all you do is use poor punctuation, spelling and grammar. I actually think he's one of the few people on here who tells it like it is. People need to be a bit more realistic about our club. The Poll results tell an interesting story. Nearly 60% of Saints fans are clearly deluded!
  4. I bet against Saints every week. I had Bale to score against us last week at 13/2. It's easy money.
  5. If we've got one he needs sacking! We urgently need someone. I'd be on the phone to the likes of Keown or Dixon.
  6. Last season I was convinced that we weren't good enough to go up. I'm prepared to admit that I was wrong. However, upon reflection I think I was looking at it from the point of view that if we did go up we were in no shape to stay up without some serious investment in certain areas like the defence. We've failed to address those areas and Nigel has shown that he's tactically naive. A passing game may have worked against teams in the Championship but we're being found out at this level because there's so many teams that play that game far better than we do. I'd have rather stayed in the Championship for 3 seasons and built a better, stronger squad with more versatility.
  7. With Adkins in charge. Absolutely not! 4 points from a possible 27 suggests we don't stand a cat in hells chance.
  8. Amazing. Last week I was lashed on here for suggesting that AL leaves Fox far too exposed. As far as Ramirez is concerned, I have a funny feeling we won't be seeing much of him this season. As soon as we spent all that money I thought, We'll be lucky to get a third of a season out of him. Don't ask me why, I've just got a feeling that he won't want to play for us whilst we're looking so awful and he'll end up being released for a fraction of the price we paid for him.
  9. NAS drives are great unless the power supply fails and takes both drives with it. I've seen it happen on several occasions. I run a NAS and then I do a manual back up to an external HDD which I don't keep in the house for the simple reason that if I was burgled or if there was a fire I'd lose everything.
  10. Utter garbage! I use a couple of Apple products but there's no way that you can say that they're the best. They're very good at marketing but it's a sorry world we live in where people would rather own something because of the badge on it. :-/
  11. A mate of mine had a couple of seasons playing alongside Dixon when he was player coach at Hitchin Town. Apparently he's got a terrible gambling problem and had blown all his money from his playing days. He'd had his car repossessed and was driving around in a red Nissan Micra at the time.
  12. Put Kelvin back in. He's had his punishment.
  13. It doesn't matter what Apple do as people will just go out and buy their products. It's a crazy world we live in where people buy things because of the brand name over the level of performance. I personally think that the bubble is about to burst for Apple. The connection thing is a farce and the price for the mini doesn't make any sense at all. All the rival products are sub £200 and the mini is too closely priced to the ipad.
  14. Gaza Clyne, Jos, Fonte, Fox Punch, Morgan, Chaplow, Davis Lallana Rickie
  15. Had a very interesting conversation with a fellow Saints fan this evening. His theory is that AL needs to be dropped as he's a big part of our current problem. He feels that the criticism of Fox has been a bit unfair as AL doesn't provide him with any cover when he plays in front of him. Basically AL should play in the hole behind a front man but not out wide. At first I was sceptical about his comments but on talking it through I have to say I'm inclined to agree. As soon as GR returns AL should spend some time on the bench. He certainly shouldn't be captain. We both feel that role would be better suited to SD. I know others on here have said the same thing. The other point of conversation was that we both agreed that Chaplow should be in the team whilst Cork is sidelined. A midfield with Chaplow, Spiderman, Punch and Davies would be our best bet at the moment. Just wondered what others thought?
  16. Can't really argue with any of that. Wise words. Particularly point 3!
  17. I felt we had a problem before the season started. You could see that key areas hadn't been addressed and there wasn't enough quality in the squad. It's now blatantly obvious that we have a major problem.
  18. The signings don't make any sense at all. I said this at the time and all I got was abuse. I had a £10 bet with a mate that GR would spend most of the season out injured. The moment we spent £12m on one player I thought, that's going to go tits up. He'll be off at the end of the season for about 1/4 of what we paid for him.
  19. He was available too. Personally I'd have rather seen us spend the money on him than GR.
  20. What's all this 'We all said'? If you look back you'll see that many of those who suggested this were often slagged off and told that they were clueless. It makes me laugh as the people who said 'we don't need defenders if out intention is to score one more than the opposition' are the people who are now saying, 'we should've strengthened the defence'.
  21. Errr, wasn't this what we were saying as soon as we won promotion. Somebody, be it Cortese or Adkins has failed miserably at addressing the most important areas.
  22. Derby went down with 11 pts. They won one game all season. If my memory serves me correctly it was a 1-0 win against Newcastle.
  23. People need to stop dwelling on the past. It happened and it can't be changed so why waste energy worrying about it?
  24. Glenn Hoddle please.
