All that football league reply does is encourage club who overspend with a small squad to go into admin and then ignore their youth team and get in a load of premiership loans if they can persuade the other team to pay their wages. I imagine he was not involved as A) he is a new player still adjusting to things over here and B) Nigel recognises it is a squad game and picks his sides with this in mind. Nothing in his very short appearances so far has or me to believe that all he has is pace and is really average. His work rate was brilliant and hassled players into making mistakes whilst he showed decent control a few times and scored a cracking goal. Give him a few games to show what he can do before calling him rubbish (a claim incorrectly levelled at myself on more than one occasion.)
