Only because Obama etc brought it up plus the remain group trying to rewrite history regarding Churchill. Yesterday three ex bomber crew were very angry and said the EU isn't what they had risked their lives for to allow the Germans to now run this country through the EU.

The economic and political scaremongering will be ineffective in the long run because limiting immigration, proper border controls and regulations is the decisive issue. The ability of this country to govern itself without being dictated to by the EU. Last month a record £8.1 billion deficit with EU. We are exporting less and less to the EU and importing more and more. They won't want our trade if we leave.
-
It has come out today that Merkel was effectively given the power of veto on what was put forward. The Germans run the EU, it's no good trying to deny it and our cowardly politicians defer in everything to them. Nothing can be done in the EU without the German approval. This is not what those who gave their lives in WW2 were dying for despite the ridiculous claims of Obama etc. Time to vote to leave the German charade called the EU.

Like all manufactured alliances it will eventually collapse. It's not a matter of if but when. The EU is unsustainable with everything geared to German finances. If we pull out either Germany will have to shovel in more handouts to the hangers on or they will pull out.

In 1944 a German Army journalist interviewed military personnel manning the Normandy defences. In 1954 he re interviewed survivors. This year his grandson published the verbatim questions and answers from both years in two books translated from German. At the end he made several comments on the content of the interviews. One of the questions asked was " who or what do you think you are defending?" Almost all responded they were defending "a United Europe". It is small wonder we are racing down the road of a German dominated EU with a military commanded and run by the Germans. The concept of the United Europe under German control has been bit by bit moved forward with the connivance of cowardly politicians. As far as I am concerned it is time to bail out and stay in Nato militarily and let the Germans go their own way. As for the US comments and third Party PM's comments, favours for the second worst and most devious PM we have had in my lifetime. The more this unwinds the more the word conspiracy comes to mind.

The latest scare stories are bizarre. I cannot believe that anybody but a fool would spout such trash. I can't help thinking he really wants out with his behaviour.

Anybody coming up with Chambers as the answer is asking the wrong question. As a natural progression we need to improve the first team at right back, a partner for Virgil, A replacement for Wanyama if he goes and and a box to box combative midfielder with an eye for goal, plus if needed a replacement for Pelle. If Mane goes likewise. Martina is adequate and a better defender than Soares who is more pleasing to the eye but poor at his real job which is defending. Of the two I prefer Martina but we need another right back in ability similar to Bertrand.

So if the US and the EU agree the TTIP the NHS will have to be opened up for competitive bidding from US health companies. So the NHS will be privatised and asset stripped. That's clever Dave and George. The Germans have tabled a proposal for a EU army with the German military in command. Their last experience ended in defeat I seem to remember. The only really experienced military in the EU 'at the moment' is the British if a tad under equipped. How's the immigration issue going? I'm not sure that people are buying the shots in the dark on the economic front. I think the main issue, to paraphrase Bill Clinton, " it's immigration stupid" I don't think the politicians have grasped that. Due to get a lot worse before mid summer.

During the press conference today a journalist made the statement if MU win the cup and Liverpool win the EL eight teams will qualify. RK agreed with him and said he wanted Liverpool to win. I find it strange that he wouldn't know the rules as he has been banging on about Europe all season.

I find it amazing that people are debating financial forecasts etc for fifteen years in the future by so called experts from either side who when they need to, can't forecast what's going to happen next month.

Probably speaks French. Didn't he play for PSG after Espanyol ?

It's a big mistake to sign players that need straightening out. Leave well alone and only sign players with the right ability, background and character. Less pain in the long run.

None of the above!

Yes but we only had two substitutions and Wanyama was obviously suffering and only lasted eight minutes before Rodriguez came on. Davis wasn't a replacement for either. In my view Rodriguez should have replaced Pelle, and Romeu replaced Wanyama. The way we did it weakened us.
-
Only because Saints were about five mins behind due to injury time etc. Reverted immediately Saints came out. Watched Saints no problem on NDC/USA and Bournemouth today both perfect.
-
The Davis substitution on 64 minutes was wrong. It left us light in midfield and unable to win the ball back especially without Fonte in defence. Everton scored within four minutes and pressed us for ten minutes. Davis is not a tackler and defensively lightweight. If Wanyama had to come off he should have been replaced by the combative Romeu who after all deputised well for Wanyama when he was out for five games and wouldn't have defensively weakened the midfield. It allowed the game to change for a period and only changed back after Everton sat back.

For anybody interested. Joanna George, Freepost RSBB-XRZT-ZTXE, The Conservative Party Foundation, 30 Millbank, London, SW1P 4DP. They should have a tidy pile by now.

The Austrians are hacked off at the Italians waving them northwards and are talking about closing the routes from Italy. That'll be interesting. Poland refusing to now accept their 7000 quota. Not a club to be a member of.

The post was more about bureaucratic incompetence producing a document that said nothing that hadn't been repeated by numerous politicians recently. Getting a bit like a boring record. Still another £7m to look forward to. I can't wait.
-
I received the government's leaflet a couple of days ago. I really don't get what the fuss is about. It is an absolute waste of money. The same tired conjecture that the politicians have been spouting for weeks. If that is the best the government can do with £9m+ they are in more trouble than I thought. It will lose them more votes than they gain. I posted mine back to the Conservatives by Freepost.

He is still work in progress and is really only getting games because we have no third left sided centre back, so Bertrand plays there in the really limited, negative 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 take your pick. That formation won't win anything, whilst most are playing 4-2-3-1, Leicester are probably going to win the Premier with the much maligned 4-4-2. We played Arsenal off the park playing a high pressing 4-4-2 at Christmas. With all the forwards we have now playing three centre backs and only one striker is defeatist, unlike Leicester who give it a go every game. Back to Targett, he won't hold down a place at left back in a four unless there are injuries. Koeman doesn't seem to trust him in a four.

Under a previous treaty that cannot be altered, all residents with the right of residence, employment etc retain those rights irrespective of what happens in the referendum. It is not an Eu treaty and is signed up to by everybody. I just can't remember which treaty but I think it pre dates the EU.

After we signed David Webb we went on an unbeaten run.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
derry replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Estimated 5000 ISIS fighters infiltrated into the EU, 360ish returned to the UK. Too late to close the stable door. It's only a matter of time until the next soft target is attacked. The great majority of muslims are peaceful and no threat. On the other hand the radical jihadists and preachers etc are a clear and present threat. In the last war aliens were interned until the end of hostilities. If the present situation escalates internment may be an action that is tried by desperate governments. Iraq, blame Blair and Bush for tearing the lid off, carrying out illegal war and regime change. Libya, blame Cameron and Sarkozy getting rid of Gaddafi. Syria, Cameron again this time with the useless Qbama trying for regime change and to bomb Assad's forces. That didn't work because the Russians got it right. Hussein, Gaddafi and Assad are /were dictators who oppressed the population but kept a lid on the terrorists. Until Blair, Bush, Cameron and Sarkozy took a hand there were no circumstances that caused the mass migration we see now. Libya wasn't a route for African migrants and Iraq and Syria were relatively stable. What we have now is a self inflicted situation caused by idiots. -
I think that immigration and security will decide the referendum result.
