  1. A stone cold hot dog and a pint of bat's pee. I trust the Corporates get better. Time to write to Markus who will be aware how they do things differently at German football matches. Nevertheless, very happy to be there yesterday.
  2. Credit to those very few that stayed for giving a generous round of applause to the Ajax team who I thought were excellent.
  3. I can't be bothered to read the views on the link in the OP because it doesn't matter what a few internet posters think of Pardew but I have to say I have a lot of time for Charlton. The club had major problems in the past but the fans rallied round and it pulled through. They are facing financial problems again and having been through what we have with Saints I have sympathy for any club with similar problems....with the one exception.
  4. Fair enough. Beats me why he's being linked as well.
  5. AP you've damned him with faint praise. I think you've answered your own question.
  6. I agree. Sadly I don't think it's Wotton. He came from Plymouth with the reputation of having a powerful shot. If so and if he's a leader why didn't he step up and take that penalty in the key game at home to Burnley? He let the young lad take the pressure and we all know what happened.
  7. I haven't seen the friendlies but just going on last season, considering that we've lost some of the better players since then and given that we struggled against physical and direct teams I fear we'll get hammered in League 1. The squad needs to be strengthened.
  8. You gotta get in to get out (is that a lyric?). Did anybody rule him him? Good decision anyway.
  9. Interesting read. He's saying all the right things. Let's hope his trusted people appoint the right manager.
  10. Didn't know that. Well I never.
  11. I think Saints is a value buy, albeit high risk and high reward, although probably a reasonable level of risk for someone of ML's wealth, but I can't help thinking the acquisition is part of a wider business strategy. PR appears to have been important to the family company which donated to two local charities when supplying those cranes to the docks. All fine by me as long as the club flourishes.
  12. Anybody know any good Skate jokes?
  13. I think he's serious. Any chance of sharing a bit more with us non German speakers?
  14. I was walking to the station tonight when I saw a P****y season ticket nailed to a tree. I thought "I'll have that". Well you can never have too many nails can you?
  15. 20% not done....not a good sign.
  16. Have you forgotten the atmosphere at Fratton Park when they beat us? It's a difficult one but on balance I think it adds an edge to being a Saints fan and we'd be less without them around.
  17. Agree with your sentiments here but differ in that if he's determined to leave then allow him to do so but at the right price, with a generous sell on clause. If someone can teach him the concept of "team" he could do well in future. Wotte seems to be calling it right.
  18. We have a choice?

  21. And your sh*gged out mouse.
  22. The frequency with which potential buyers speak out seems to be in inverse proportion to the credibilty of their bids.
  23. Eight = ffs get on with it!
  24. I agree there is an overlap in the interests of club and creditors. However, it seems to me it depends on how any deal is structured. If I were a creditor, especially a small creditor, I'd probably want certainty and go for the deal that paid the most cash up front but I can see that the likes of Aviva might be interested in some deferred payments giving them a greater return overall than if they took all payment up front. It's also possible that some creditors could take their payment and never supply the club again (understandable) or the club could have felxibily to go with different suppliers in future.
