  1. Removed his kn*b? What kind of stunt's that?
  2. I think he has potential as demonstrated at BR but he reminds me of a riderless horse. Down to the coaching staff to develop him.
  3. Seems far too easy to get round the rules though VFTT. Could explain why Storey's still there when he doesn't seem to have a clue what's going on, unless and until that is, the outcome of his court case dictates otherwise.
  4. Does anybody really know who is the beneficial owner of the club or probably more to the point the beneficial owner of the land on which FP stands? You wonder why any of these so called investors with no interest in football would go anywhere near this toxic club if there weren't something to be gained from seeing it fold.
  5. I recall Saints first season down in the Championship, Luton away, probably first match. I think they'd just got promoted. Saints were up at half time (I think 0-2 but not certain) and that ridiculous "Easy" chant. They came out and hammered us second half and won the match. Different time, different circumstances but nonetheless a cautionary reminder of the dangers of underestimating teams. Another reason for playing our strongest team; it was reported there were words in the dressing room after Colchester. I suggest giving as many as possible of those that played against Colchester the opportunity to put right what went wrong in that defeat. Bigger picture; it's the third round of the FA Cup, the best round of the competition. Is there no romance left in football? Let's not devalue it by playing a weakened side.
  6. I agree that it looks like a penalty on this clip so I can see how it was given, especially in the fog, but it happened right in front of me and I, and one or two around me, said immediately it was not a penalty. In any case it doesn't matter because it counts for nothing.
  7. No I would not want Saints to play like that. Absolutely not.
  8. That's how Boothroyd's teams play. What did you expect? Just accept the fact that he did us up like a Kipper and not for the first time. Oh and did you fail to spot the penalty we were gifted by the ref?
  9. Sour Grapes.
  10. This is a pretty accurate assessment of the game. Both their goals came by neat passing though our immobile CB's. And I agree that Connolly has to play alongside Lambert.
  11. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/leagueone/southampton/6867866/Alan-Pardew-back-on-the-march-with-Southampton.html? Ambitious Manager, ambitious club. Interesting that he's had no promises about funds to improve the team (but doesn't have to sell anyone). Canny or what?
  12. Apparently "Alan said the same". Tongue firmly in cheek no doubt.
  13. 'bout time you stuck that up.
  14. Can't see this posted elsewhere. http://www.epltalk.com/ron-davies-interview-epl-talk-podcast/13835?
  15. I'm not overly bothered where I sit although I'd prefer a seat in the Kingsland so I'm going to wait to see if they open it. The game won't sell out of course but I think there may be more interest in it than the club anticipates. I hear Luton are expecting to bring around 3000.
  16. The on line Oxford Shorter Dictionary: Legend: Noun:an extremely famous or notorious person I think MLT qualifies. In fact, NC, by this definition you seem to be enhancing his legendary status.
  17. Another glowing reference: http://www.walsall-mad.co.uk/news/loadfeat.asp?cid=ED16&id=476136
  18. A touch of humility hasn't gone amiss. This, and a certain credibility I have always thought attaches to supporters of lower league sides are two of the few, very few, benefits of supporting a lower league side. And we do it well by turning up in numbers.
  19. I think our achilles heel is lack of pace at the back, whatever formation we play. Against teams with pace or who move the ball around quickly (e.g Brighton and Norwich) we have sometimes struggled a bit. Although Orient were a little fortunate on the balance of play, Jaidi got isolated against Orient's pacy winger, which led to the og. Brighton made our two CB's look ponderous at times. In retrospect it would have made sense to have played 4-5-1 against them to at least try to protect the back four. I'd like to see a pacy CB brought in in January but such players are like gold dust.
  20. Essentially he's just saying what both he and Lambert said in interviews just after the match, that the game was entertaining but too open. It's not the first time we've been unable to hold onto a lead and see out a game. It's about keeping possession of the ball. We have the players to retain possession but for some reason we just don't. However, some credit to the opposition on this occasion.
  21. You have a point about the pen. Your defence of the other two is a bit feeble Benj.
  22. A good game. Norwich look a good side that moves the ball around quickly but we had the chances to win it. A draw was probably a fair result. A comment on our defending. Three times in a week we have failed to be alert to rebounds. Once against Brighton and twice today.
  23. Human error. Unbelievable human error on the part of the Linesman. The real scandal is the seeding.
  24. That's a heartwarming post and great that you still make the occasional game Old Codger.
