Pfft, he has a history of winding people up with crap like that and it's not always been right. Wouldn't surprise me if he's guessed on this too from VVD's twitter and happened to be right this time.
-
If it was me personally, I'd be telling he can move on a free in five years time, but I'm not sure the team would end up better off by doing that...
-
It's not just about van Dijk and this window or this season though. We've suffered more than most from tapping up, usually to Liverpool. If we can do something about that we'll be far better off for it.
-
If we get the money we want from someone other than Liverpool, he's gone.
-
He's certainly made a good impression so far.
-
Certainly isn't ideal. Makes you wonder why VVD wants to move, though. After all, there's been no bid for him, and any contact with the player would have beeen illegal. Might come down to it that we have to make it so that Liverpool can't sign anyone to keep him.
-
I hope you lot realise you've managed to convince Twitter that VvD is actually on strike now
-
Looks like the brakes are being put on Gomez going out on loan from Liverpool.
-
Personally I find it quite an interesting social experiment to see how far you're willing to keep digging.

AS Roma seem to have copied our parody announcement video (as in, literally used some of our material) to announce their own signing. Frankly it's pretty weird.

Liverpool fans are funny. It's like the ****wits think the only possible thing we can offer a player is the opportunity to move to a 'bigger' club. That we'll have to sell van Dijk or no one will ever sign for us again.

http://www.empireofthekop.com/2017/07/18/klopp-laments-crazy-england-laughs-that-nobodies-cost-25m/ Aww, seems like it's starting to be that poor old Liverpool can't just outspend other clubs to get better than them any more. Of course, rather than seeing it as leading to healthy competition in the Premier League, they see it as the Premier League shooting itself in the foot. I mean, just imagine how terrible it would be if Liverpool started to slip even further down the league...
-
There's absolutely no chance at all we'll be paying him extra to honour his current contract.
-
If VvD was on strike we wouldn't be seeing him in training videos That much at least is utter ********.
-
'Perhaps he's ok under a different manager' is what stung us with Osvaldo. We already have VvD who we know is ok off the pitch. And about twice as good on it. I'd rather take the risk of VvD playing ok like Wanyama and Schneiderlin did while we use our scouts to find a better replacement than Sakho.
-
Considering it's his off field attitude that's stopping Liverpool from using him, I'd say it has some bearing.
-
Part of what we look at when signing a player is his character, and the odd times we've taken a risk and gone against that (Osvaldo in particular) it's not worked out too well. From the little I've heard he has a pretty horrendous attitude off the pitch.
-
The club still see it as a point of principle. In effect, VvD is unsettled purely because of an illegal tapping up by Liverpool. If he were to put in a transfer request, it does nothing to change that, and accepting it would just in effect allow the tapping up to have the desired effect for Liverpool, so he'd just be throwing away his loyalty bonus for nothing. A strike might do it, but it'd still be unlikely to get him to Liverpool, I don't think he's that sort of character, and it's not like he suddenly hates Saints all of a sudden to do that.
-
There's absolutely nothing stopping VvD finding work elsewhere if he doesn't want to play for us. We don't need to give up the registratation that would let him play for someone else though. Being a footballer isn't the only job on the planet, funnily enough.
-
Sounds like he's finally starting to accept VvD won't be moving to me.
-
That's something that will be verifiable and it's been noted that you've claimed that.
-
Oh jeez. Have to admit seeing the title of the Ugly Inside blog post pop up just now on Twitter... They got me. 'Tis not too often I'm fooled by something like that, but they got me. Utter bellends
-
Dunno, doesn't sound like something Liverpool would do...
