  1. We've given ourselves a great chance of winning this... There's even a tiny tiny part of me that wants to stay home tomorrow and watch instead of going to the match... luckily I can keep that part quiet with mobile internet updates...
  2. 19.19 into a headwind, while tired and with limited training? That's less than double the old 100m world record before this week! In other words... no one else could match that time even by running two seperate 100m races...
  3. To be fair, it takes, what, 10 seconds to add a view, and maybe 30 seconds to add a post... hardly obsession. Saints threads pop up on Pompey boards as well, and human nature being what it is, people aren't that different. I'd imagine that each Pompey member spends around the same time looking at Saints threads as Saints fans read Pompey threads. What your figures really indicate is that Saintsweb is far far more popular and read than Pompey message boards.
  4. If that's true and that happens.... they'd be in even deeper trouble than they are now. TV income would be taken to pay off that loan, meaning they couldn't strengthen the team, they're already down to the bare bones as it is, and if they go down as looks likely, they'd be in a worse death spiral than Leeds or we were, with lower income and little infrastructure (ground, training facilities, fanbase) to attract new investment

    Saint!
  6. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8169649.stm Good news for Ponty.

  8. I'm 23 MLT is THE reason I support Saints.
  9. So because some people there have already paid and agreed to go to EVERY SINGLE GAME this season, the fact they're there is somehow a bad thing? ...
  10. I reckon that advert hurts Newcastle far more than Plymouth. Anyone can see that they're just poking fun at Plymouth fans, but casually dismissing Newcastle as just a long away trip for Plymouth? Ouch.
  11. I thought that as well! Their time at the top lasted all of what? Two hours?
  12. I believe that there's a 9 point deduction in the Prem.
  13. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Sulaiman-Fahim-given-seven-day-deadline-to-complete-takeover-of-Portsmouth-article106623.html looks like things are starting to conclude
  14. Yeah, if Pompey go under, we've either got one less relegation spot to worry about, or one extra promotion spot to aim for.
  15. I don't want to see Pompey fold, it might be funny for a while, because the banter would carry on, but it wouldn't last long before Pompey were forgotten and there was no banter at all. Trouble is if they only relegate two teams from the Prem it leave the Championship one short, so they then have to relegate one team less... they can't promote one team less because that would leave the Prem one short... so then if they relegate one less that leaves League 1 short... and so on
  16. you should be a politician with an ability like that to answer a completely different question to the one asked.
  17. .... what happens to their spot in the League? do they push up to replace them all the way through the football pyramid? Would Saints have an extra play off spot to aim for with the top 3 going up automatically, or would the two play off finalists both go up? Or would they do it by one less team being relegated in each league?
  18. didn't get the chance yesterday to say yay, so glad I didn't have to ^^
  19. I'm in yet again, Jimmidii's Ramblers, hoping to match my 3rd place from a couple of seasons ago
  20. maybe set up a sticky for guessing exact attendances this season? Award points for the closest three or something?
  21. My career game has just seen Eastleigh survive their first season in the Prem, despite being predicted 20th. (odds of 1000-1 for the title ) I'm about 20-21 seasons in ('tis 2030). Newcastle were leading the Prem most of the season but faded at the end and were overtaken by tottenham and Man City.... Man U and Liverpool have been crippled by their debt and are perennial relegation candidates. (Man U only coming above me on goal difference lol) highlights so far... finally getting to the prem, and way back in my 200th game in charge... FA Trophy Final I've had no trophies so far, I've just been promoted from 2nd place up from BSP, this will be my last chance for a while at honours. Eastleigh are 3-0 down at half time. I inspire them with team talk and well timed subs to come back and eventually in injury time score an equaliser. We then hold on for penalties and win 5-4

  23. Pompey must be really desperate to bring a keeper with a dodgy wrist out of retirement, even if it IS Niemi. Doubtful he'll end up having to play, and doubt he'll still be as good as he was unfortunately, if he does end up having to play. Let the Skates pay his pension for him I say ^^
  24. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/motor-racing/massa-eye-undamaged-say-doctors-1763604.html Looking more hopeful we might see him in a F1 car again at some point in the future...
  25. Steve Redgrave imo. A bloke who's diabetic dominates an endurance event at the Olympics for two decades? Incredible.
