  1. Living in Brisbane don't get to see the Saints much. That was the first league match this season screened over here. So I will judge on what I saw. We look very pedestrian up front and in the middle and shaky at the back. Brighton were by far the better side. Very worrying. What is the point of Schneiderlin exactly?
  2. Fancy us, but we don't want to get complacent. Will be tight, but we are good enough to get into the 3rd round. Would love to tumble a Prem side at SMS then....

    Dyer

Sniffers goal from Dyer. Just loitering with intent in the right area and managed to pick the defenders pocket.
  4. This thread is about Gobern. One of our illustrious line up from last season. Enough said. Time for him to move on along with the rest of last season's losers still hanging around at SMS. With a few exceptions you can count on the fingers of one hand.
  5. Really good win. First time I've watched Saints this season - on TV in Australia. Bit of a war of attrition first half but second half we looked very good. lots of pace and good passing and three excellent goals. Then on trots one of last seasons ponies and it all goes pear shaped. We simply have to ship out losers like Gobern. They have a losing mentality and it infects the whole side. We were hanging on at the end and needn't have been.
  6. Showed some spirit to come from behind, but with the form we took into the game, we should have won that really. If we aspire to getting to the play offs this season, need to win those. If we aren't then I guess the draw is fine. Happy with October overall though.
  7. 3 points and out of the bottom 4 please. We can't expect to win every week I guess - but would be good to get out of the bottom 4 for sure.
  8. Never used to hate them - just sort of developed as a result of their ridiculous venomous over the top attitude. Experienced personally. The common theme on here if you read it through. Saints fans sgenerally see it as rivalry/banter, Pompey fans as pathological hatred/reason for violence including against small children. Whenever we play them up here there is banter, whenever we play them down there you can see the twisted anger in their **** ugly faces on the touchline, even the wheelchair section. It's different for them. Westwood actually seems quite balanced when you meet some of the retards that pass for their fans.
  9. Part of the losing culture at the club sadly. Time for him to move on. Maybe he could smack Burley in the chops before he goes back to Poland.
  10. Turned the corner for sure. Now I am ready to start reading comments from players on the OS about us giving someone a proper spanking soon. And if we do - I won't feel a shred of sympathy for the opposition. We've had some **** times over the past few years, time for us to give it back. This side is going places.
  11. Got a good feeling about this one. I really believe we have turned the corner. If we don't win, I still think we'll put in a decent shift. Fingers crossed.
  12. Great result - surpassing expectations, and that's 3 good wins in a row. MK Dons will be a litmus test next week at SMS I feel - too soon to start making comments like 'we will destroy this division', 'we will walk this league' and 'we will get to the play offs'. Sounds like we need Murty back as well. So great win, and definitely turned the corner. Happy.
  13. Fantastic result - brilliant support. Two league wins in a row and 6 points already for October - looking better and better. Nice job so far AP. Well done Saints.
  14. Schneiderlin - hardly an assist or goal all season and shaky defensively, and part of last season's circus. Gets injured, doesn't play and we win 4-1. Go figure.
  15. Great result and a cracking start to October. Another home win and a point somewhere on our three road trips and that's a second month of improvement. Heading in the right direction I think.
  16. OK so the Rovers defeat hurt - excacerbated by the nature of it in the 96th minute. So how about an objective assessment of the season so far? It's all about points, not performances, or scoring from open play etc etc so lets look at that: August 5 games 3 points = 0.6 per game September 5 games 6 points = 1.2 per game Now I know some months might throw up tougher fixtures than others, so you might prefer to use a two or three month rolling average to balance that out a bit statistically, but personally I am using this sort of measure to see if Pards has pulled us out of our nosedive and deserves support. We know that Cortese has a two year plan to get us out of L1 so I think if Pards keeps improving the above numbers and starts getting it nearer 2.0 by the end of the season we'll be safe this year and on track for promotion next season, in line with the bigger picture. So I am suggesting, lets be objective, and not call for Pardews head on the basis of the odd crap result, however frustrating. They are going to happen. And fwiw I am a pessimist on here usually aligned with Alpines view of things....
  17. Like the fact that Pardew clearly has identified that some of last seasons squad just aren't footballers. No-one else wants them either. Maybe office jobs beckon. The more of last seasons chaff we can get shot of, the better for morale. So personally I'd have the players he refers to on gardening leave and away from the club, and training etc. Unless they demonstrate a change in both attitude and ability.
  18. Thanks mate. Nail on head and why I made the post. More time for Pardew, but stop the platitudes and start winning football matches lads.
  19. The ultimate sick note. Get rid.
  20. The players should be forced to read that after Tuesdays result. They are letting everyone down. Again.
  21. Here we go with the roll out a quote from a player merry go round. Groundhog Day. I'm not interested in what you intend to do. Just do it, then talk about it after. Getting very very bored of stuff like that....
  22. No chance. He's a total liability at right back and his last chance came and went some time ago. Midfield or nowhere for James. As you say, RB isn't his natural position. No sh1t Sherlock.
  23. More honest would have been : 'We have some very talented players but unfortunately they are chokers and losers. They need to grow some ******** and start delivering some results or I'll get sacked.'
  24. Get to the end of November. If we're not winning as many as we're losing by then - cheerio.
  25. Why the hell was James put back in defence again? Surely it's midfield for him or nowhere? We would be better off playing three at the back rather than have him back there. Improves the odds for catching the opposition offside at least. It's decisions like that and bringing Wotton on that are starting to worry me about Pardew. On the positve side - 3 points from 5 games in August, 6 points from 5 games in September.....5 games to come in October, looking for an improvement.
