  1. I remember it....vividly. I don't go to that many games per season, but that year I decided to go on the opening day full of optimism. What followed was without a doubt the worst I have ever seen us play, and Bennett's debut, was worse still. For me, even though we didn't actually go down that season, that was arguably the lowest I've ever felt as a Saints fan (with regards to on-field matters anyway). Even though I was in denial at the time, I somehow knew we had further to sink, before we were ever going to rise again.
  2. Is this your subtle was of telling SWF that you won an award?
  3. Go on, own up. It was one of you on here, wasn't it? [video=youtube;A-FfVshrIcY]
  4. Seeing as it's FA Cup final day (yeah, I only just realised this morning too!), what are your favourite Saints-related FA Cup memories? Obviously, pretty much everyone is going to refer to either '76 or '03 finals, so for the purposes of this thread we will assume these 2 matches don't count. So, what are your faviourite FA Cup non-final memories? For me it has to be Crouch's last minute penalty v Pompey.
  5. Le Tissier v Schmeichel. One of my favourite MLT goals of all time, making arguably the best goal keeper of all time make very ordinary.
  6. Can't decide between: Billy's second goal v Pompey. I think the ref only talked to the lino for about 20 seconds, but it felt like about an 20 minutes. Went a little bit mental when it was given. Shame about what happened 3 minutes later. The last 5 minutes away v Barnsley. 1-0 up but toying with Barnsley playing keep-ball. Jos scoring v Hull(?) and just celebrating standing still in the goal, with hands in the air. And, seeing as it hasn't cost us promotion and I can laugh about it, the whole 90 minutes of Bart v Blackpool.
  7. The spelling is woeful. I did like this bit of the article though. PinkScarf and her girls must be horrible if even Jos snubbed them. "I am the like the guy next door and it is annoying for my Mrs, but I stand and talk to everyone and chat about whatever they want - that is the way I am."
  8. I don't know much about this guy as a footballer, but he's my favourite Pokemon.
  9. Can someone tell me how I can save pictures from the OS galleries? (normally from any other website, I'd just right click and save picture as, but you can't do that on the OS?)
  10. Surely its the complete oppostie. Bigging him up and saying he'll be the saviour would be setting him up for a fall. I think this is the perfect appointment for England, compared to the likes of Sven, McLaren or Capello. For years I've been wanting England to go into a major tournment without masses of media hype about winning it. Being underdogs with a passionate english manager has every chance of being a success. For the record, I think with Hodson as manager we'll get to the semis of Euro 2012.
  11. One good thing about the Premier League is that we're allowed 7 subs on the bench. Will hopefully allow us to give a few youngsters a bit of a match experience if we ever happen to be crusiing a game. In the Championship, where it felt like everygame was important, with 5 subs unfortunately there just wasn't space for someone unproven. No doubt a few youngsters will go on loan hopefull to the Championship/League 1 too.

  13. From a Coventry messageboard: http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/16845-Saints-Fans-Praising-Ours-Again Just to clarify, according to Pompey fans logic, anything said by a few people on any random opposing teams online messageboard, is 100%, conclusively true, right? Suppose it doesn't actually say we're the best in the world. But it says we're better than Pompey. WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO. There's nothing more to settle. Saints fans have won every possible argument there is to win!
  14. ...and thinking it really was the end? [video=youtube;pye-1OorcU0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pye-1OorcU0 Also remember listening to these and feeling very down....: What a difference a few years makes, eh?
  15. Always nice to hear I suppose. It'd be easy to forget where we were just a few years ago, but it seems a lot of us still remember and have sympathy for Coventry. Here's a selection of posts from their messageboard. http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/16805-Just-got-back/page2
  16. 4-1 win over Torquay (our first win under the lights this season. Nice goal for Forte to start his account for the season). 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace (we could have gone on to play the mighty Man Yoo if we had won) 2-1 away to Coventry (showing the FA cup still has a bit of magic!)
  17. Worth the subscription to Saints player for this alone. Also nice to see Tadanari Lee hopping around celebrating on crutches in the dressing room too!
  18. ...probably.
  19. Are we supposed to watch it 5 times?
  20. Is he related to Chaplow? * * For the forum thickos, this is a play on the "low" bit of his name. I don't really think he's far too slow. A little too slow, maybe. Not far too slow though. That rymes, and you know it.
  21. Not at home they don't. HTH.
  22. I get wet just thinking about how exciting Saturday will be.
  23. What, because we're going to finish 2nd in the league? LOL! ZING!
  24. Are you really struggling to understand why some people, who normally only go to a few games a season, are making a special effort to be at this game? Or is this just one of those "look at me, I'm Turkish and I'm being funny and controversial" jokes?
