  1. Quite right; he did get a bit of help from Mane that day, who also came on at H/T. Vic's a big loss, Mane would be an even bigger one.
  2. Agree with this - Wanyama's been great for us; just about the best DM going around - Spurs have a bargain.
  3. Count me in...I love the guy; really good player who combines graft with lovely deft touches. Down to earth, modest and likeable.
  4. Pretty good early call matt; I hope you had some money on at that stage. Obviously a long way from being over the line, but you would certainly have over-the-odds if you followed your hunch at the time!
  5. Club's statement is fair enough. Koeman makes Pochettino seem like Mahatma Gandhi.
  6. As long as he's not replacing Sadio then it's a good signing.
  7. For a short time it would be interesting to see a poll conducted as to the most despised departee.....Pochettino or Koeman; given the recency of Koeman's defection and his much proclaimed intention to see out his contract, I'd guess big Ronald would get the greater numbers.
  8. Well crikes-all-mighty, let's sign him up....the stability so many have craved.
  9. Joe Jordan?
  10. I thought he looked a good little player; I don't argue with the Club's decision to move him on, but I do see Juanmi's (and Harry Reed's) limited opportunities as questionable decisions by Koeman.
  11. I would be happy to see him go. Did you hear the one about the bloke who lamented that "the last time he was inside a woman was when he visited the statue of liberty".
  12. Add me to this - he is an outstanding, unique attacking force; striker, AM and winger rolled into one.
  13. I will be more disappointed if Mane leaves this Summer than I am about Ronald's swift exit.
  14. And JWP for 20m. Nice bit of business. VVD and Mane not for sale.
  15. No he hasn't gone backwards (Reed that is) and that was one of Koeman's judgements I always found strange; in that he commented in a post-game interview (I think it was v Everton ironically) after Harry Reed had played a really good game, that the lad lacked technical abilities or words to that effect. He hardly featured again at first team level.
  16. I hope you're right heaven, but I think we will do well to equal last season's finish and you would expect the blue half to improve their position, and I say that irrespective of the Manager changes and the injection of money Everton seem to be on about.
  17. Amazing really - just the same, Ronald will go down in my book as just as big a sly dog as Pochettino was characterised to be. Les Reed's probably a sly old dog too - that's the difficult part for the average fan; the game's made up of a collection of sly dogs and opportunists, and the great Dutch hope ended up being another example.
  18. post of the week along with the 'we melt-on" classic.
  19. At this rate I can see myself wanting the North London yobbos and the Red half to turn the Toffees over next season - unthinkable 48 hours ago.
  20. I don't think any prospective Club for Vic (probably Spurs) are going to be put off by his red cards - only one of them last season seemed justified and reckless. I have to say that Mason as a part deal seems like a massive downgrade on Vic.
  21. I don't know....he played a few cracking games against Chelsea with the "special one" sitting on the sideline. The Club has to try and keep him, at least for one more season.
  22. Wanyama is not a liability - he's an asset. He's delivered three highly influential seasons to Saints, and any fan who wouldn't want him to extend his contract and stay is misguided. Vic's situation isn't that different to Morgan last season; the agreement he could leave in the summer was probably done 12 months ago and his inevitable departure should be seen with same grace and appreciation Morgan received. I just hope it isn't to Spurs.
  23. Spot on Batman. If there is one player we should break the bank for it's Mane - he is the spark for so much of our attacking force; brilliant already but much more to come.
  24. A good thing there are more measured minds making those decisions.
