Well there's a startling surprise! In all fairness SB has recently started to post in a more sensible manner with some good points of valid debate however the fact he can't help digging (perm any combination of Crouch, McMenemy or Pearson) makes his posts tiresome. Many 'anti' Lowe fans are just that due to the divisive element he brings to the club and having his supporters come on here even after a great win and attempt some petty point scoring against other fans hardly seems to help....
-
Well that's a rhetorical question John but when the team as a total have only scored 16 goals in the CCC, two of which were pens and one was an own goal then you can hardly expect a mid-fielder to be scoring more than the main striker which Window Cleaner seems to be suggesting is the benchmark. Unfortunately for the reasons stated by several posters on this thread your assesment would appear to be clouded by other aspects.
-
He'd have more goals in the CCC than our main striker then? Is that what you're saying?
-
Yes, unfortunately I have to agree. You will notice that the main pro-sell Lallana posters here are Lowe supporters getting ready to justify Lallana leaving when he inevitably does. Reasoned argument and debate of his ability gets particularly biased in this situation.

Saints Greatest XI - Nominations For Best LB.
Greenridge replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
In my time it would be any one from Peach, Statham, Dennis or Bridge. All for different reasons. -
I couldn't agree more. In the games I have seen he has been the stand out player in terms of quality. On a couple of occasions I was with people still involved in the professional game at a very high level and they also shared this view. In time he will go on to be a very good player I'm sure.

What did Duncan (Fitzhugh Fella) say on Radio Hampshire?
Greenridge replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I think they are very fair comments SB and I don't think too many would disagree with you. We have been down the 'anything but Lowe' route before and that didn't work out for a number of reasons. What I really struggle to come to terms with however is that as long as Wilde, Crouch and Lowe hold their respective share-holdings we will always be in this state of uneasy truce and stability will remain a pipe-dream. If we can make some positive improvements in results then the crowds will return, yes a few will stay away until Lowe leaves and of course then are many other factors hitting people's wallets right now which no doubt will effect attendances at all clubs, not just SFC. -
I guess I could 'spice' up my posts with childish insults, swearing and name-calling but judging by your posts that doesn't make them any more interesting either. I hope you get over your case of mild delhi-belly and are in a better frame of mind when you return.
-
Well that certainly told me, or Gordon (I hope that wasn't a racial inference) or whoever. Pot and kettle spring to mind. If you'd have taken the time to read my posts you will have no doubt realised they take on board a variety of factors and draw a conclusion based on the information available rather than myopic one-tracked rhetoric.

Thanks for your words of wisdom GM. It's been what, about an hour and a half since the last self-appointed uber-fan told the normal peasant fans how they should act.

And the sad thing is we have this solution completely within our own hands as we have several proven goalscorers on the books, all of which are now at other clubs. This short sighted 'cost-cutting' measure could well be the deciding factor for this clubs' future. For those of you who will predictably shout 'we don't have any money' then ask yourself if the bank would prefer you in the CCC with a few thousand pounds more debt but the associated crowds (albeit sliding) and other trappings or in League 1 with sub-10K crowds. It shouldn't be difficult to come to the right answer. -
We've had several half-decent second halves so far which shows we can perform. However this needs to be for 90 minutes so what's happening with the management / coaching that we can't do this in the first half?
-
Well that's certainly an interesting take on things

Strange as I've just spoken to a couple of ex-pro's who where there as guests and who shared a slightly less rose-coloured view of things...

Did you actually read what I'd written and understand the thrust of it or just jumped on your pro-Lowe bandwagon without digesting it's content. You continue to be very predictable. Just to underline my point that you are obviously finding difficult to grasp perphaps you'd care to look at last seasons average gate compared to this? -

I truly believe this would be a massive step forwards. It is undisputable even to the most ardent of Lowe supporters that his presence is incredibly devisive to the club. The above proposed change may not bring the addtional funds the club so badly needs but it would kick-start a more homogeneous effect with which I'm sure some of the missing feel-good factor would return. We would then be in a position to move forwards as a Club. -

Such a surprise you take this position...very predictable. -
A sentiment shared by many I feel.

I understand and to a point agree with many of your points. However why should fans and supporters have to 'put up or at least shut up'? Surely that is what a democracy is and in particular what a forum is for - debate and discussion. There seems to be far too many self-appointed uber-fans floating around cyberspace and farcically blaming other fans for SFC's current predicament and telling them what they should and shouldn't do. -

....I'm going to summise regardless (my version of course)....'' Priceless SunnyD and welcome back from your ban. -
He just loves playing toy soldiers. He's probably got his RL initialled tracksuit hanging up in his wardrobe ready to go. Was it Barry Fry who purchased a club (Peterborough) and appointed himself manager?....
-
Of course you are absolutely correct along with the fact that the team he took over was in rapid freefall and devoid of any confidence. These points however are of little relevance to OB I'm afraid.

As with many I'm becoming increasingly cynical and somewhat disillusioned so I expect to see an imminent OS announcement with a fanfare and razzmataz that Svensson is due to return in a vain attempt to bolster flagging enthusiasm of the supporter base.
