  1. Some interesting comments from Pekhart regarding his loan spell with us (From SSN) The Czech endured a miserable spell at the struggling Saints earlier this season where he made just two starts in the league, scoring one goal. "After my arrival I was not complaining at all about anything, everything was going fine. Three weeks later, when I played in the starting line-up, they suddenly put me in the stand," he added. "I went to the coach to ask him about the explanation and he replied that it was because of the club's policy. "Since then I did not know what was going on in the team and came on mostly only as a substitute. "Later I found out that the club had huge financial problems and the management wanted to play only with the players who had been at the club ever since. "They stopped picking players who were there on loan." Pekhart's luck did not improve when he returned to Spurs as he admits that manager Harry Redknapp was not even informed that he had returned. "During the first few days of my arrival the coach did not even know I was there," he explained. "I was with the first team for a while, then with the reserve team for a while. Now I am waiting for my agent to arrive and we will start negotiations. "I could not be nominated for matches anyway as I was a Southampton player until January 1st.
  2. You never cease to amaze Prof. Saints were in it for the whole of the first half you say? Righty-ho. The sending-off wasn't? Righty-ho. The Ref rendered the game meaningless by the sending-off? It's not his job to make it a spectacle for the viewing public, it's his job to apply the rules of the games to the best of his ability. It was a clear red-card. As for the offside goal...I agree, and also the penalty was incorrect as was the proceding foul by Lancashire but let's face it Man U could have scored at will and didn't get out of first gear.
  3. Agree entirely which makes RL's decision making that is threatening our very survival in the CCC even more perplexing. Why risk it with short termism risky cost-cutting?
  4. I had a chuckle at this one as well. The Baird rumour sems to be gathering some momentum.
  5. Agreed, and the common denominator? Age and experience.
  6. I doubt JP will have an awful lot of influence or input into these scenarios.
  7. Yes UP it was a red, no question about it. Yes he got the ball first (thankfully). I don't think it was a malicious nasty challenge but a red it was.
  8. The lack of structure of the 'formation' that Jan continues to pursue really hit home today. Whatever the reason it is clearly not working and was highlighted by Paterson trying to perform some kind of midfielders role with dire consequences and the likes of DMG just wandering around. Players just didn't seem to have a clue what their role and responsibilities were. The game passed several of our players by including Gobern, Smith and to a certain extent Surman. Van de Sar must have been freezing. It was just so disappointing. It's difficult to find too many positives but maybe keeping the score down to 3 atleast avoided humiliation and the erosion of confidence. We need something to happen and very quickly.
  9. Are you trying to selectively re-write history again.
  10. What would Aalborg achieve by doing this? Sorry but as the source of this information is the propoganda machine that is the OS it would be good to hear this from a more impartial party.
  11. The OS is exactly that and always will be to varying degrees. Anyone who thinks otherwise is sadly in denial.
  12. With the 2nd Feb still some way off I think we have plenty yet to come. It's all very sad unfortunately.
  13. Fair comment however could I ask if we have a recognised Right Back at the club yet?
  14. Not wishing to defend Alpine but out of interest do you see anything factually incorrect in his post?
  15. My initial thought as well Chez. We seem to be slipping into the strategy of quantity rather than quality right now. There was a stat in the Echo the other night about how many players JP has played so far and I seem to recall 28 being mentioned but that can't be right can it?
  16. Try reading the post above yours, it put's yours into perspective.
  17. You seem to continually forget elementary facts when making your posts eh? It's convenient to omit the freefall the club was in when NP arrived and how he had to start running from day one and arrest the alarming slide down the league with a team of zero confidence before he could turn things around. Whereas JP had a complete pre-season with 'his' team starting anew. Hardly the same is it but don't let that obscure your blinkered opinion.
  18. Whilst I'm sure it needs a few new players to push for the top spots the team as it is should not be floundering on the relegation zone. The coaching / management / motivation / tactics / whatever are clearly not working.
  19. Whilst this is clearly not a squad of Premiership world-beaters it is definitely better than current results are portraying. I remember when Hoddle came back, he hardly changed the personnel and turned us from a very poor team into a half decent team. It may just be that a change of manager is just what we need. In all fairness we can't really do any worse can we?
  20. I'm becoming increasingly concerned that Lowe's decision regarding Pearson may turn out to be his one single most significant feck up. It would appear all reasons thrown up as why not to appoint Pearson have been blown out of the water and even the one unknown of his remuneration expectations would have been small fry IF it would make the difference between CCC stability and relegation. Of course none of us really know what the outcome would have been / will be and much of it is supposition but given the option of NP or JP then it would appear to be a no-brainer. He was a dead-man walking when Lowe returned and the apparent reason? He was the choice of arch enemy Crouch. Petty or what.
  21. But as has been pointed out he was acquired during the tenure of JP and his team and given a 3 year contract by the one RL. Not a great endorsement of the new set up is it.
  22. Have to agree with you there. The longer he continues to metaphorically stick two fingers up to the fan base the more he will become a figure of hate which will over-shadow any positives that he does bring.
  23. Thanks for the summary Wes. Without wanting to be melodramatic it's incredible to see the real depths that this once proud club has declined to. It's amazing what one self-indulgement divisive character can do. How anyone can even contemplate defending his actions is beyond most reasonable people of that I'm sure.
  24. I'm not doubting his ineffectivesness at right midfield, it is clearly not his natural position as is demonstrated by him going narrow in-field. I also am in 100% agreement regarding DMG. My comments were more related to Lallana as a player overall. He is clearly one of even not the most talented players in our squad and will go on to play at a much higher standard. I'll be hearing next that Le Tissier should never have made it as he didn't tackle.
  25. Your pseudo-expert analysis make you sound like a pub team manager who has just played Fifa-Pro Manager 07 and demonstrate that you actually have little grasp for some elementary aspects of the game. Your view on Lallana is quite comical to say the least. I don't need to put you on ignore as it brightens my day to read such twaddle although after reading the very same comment for the tenth time does start to become a little tiresome, bless. It's a good topic for debate but does it need to be on every thread?
