  1. Nail on head. These numbers can have only come from the Club. The sad decline of our once proud club continues unabated. It's like a mouse in it's last lifeless moment being played with by some fat cat.
  2. For whatever reason Saga was completely mis-managed by Burley only being used as a bit-part sub or the odd game here and there. Even then you could see he had something about him - the Polish national manager obviously thought so. He's not going to save us single-handedly and will need the support of the team in terms of personnel and strategy but he gives us a better chance than we've got just now. If, that is, he get's to play.
  3. Was part of your fantasy that they played for Saints?
  4. Thanks for your reply, I tend to agree with much of what you've said however I still think he's better than what we've got. I will add the caveat though and that being without service he's got no chance. Let's hope eh. 4-4-2 wouldn't hurt either.
  5. Not sure the reason behind your flippant post Chez but I think it's hard to disagree that he's not better than what we've got. However unless he get's some service he won't score, simple. Let's hope he does get a run and bangs a few in, that's what we all want I'm sure.
  6. If you mean unless he get's some decent service from the other 10 then I'm in full agreement. He is what we are missing though and that is a proven goalscorer but unless he's supplied with the ball neither he or Torres would make a great deal of difference. Fingers crossed.
  7. Not forgetting that a number of our 'stars' would deem League 1 below them and leave....
  8. Some light hearted relief at last. Keep 'em coming.....
  9. I imagine they relate to trying to offload Kelvin which fell through leaving us with 3 keepers.
  10. Genuine question, is that fact or your opinion?
  11. Not a great advert for the Club for other players considering coming here. I hate all the 'ITK' stuff so didn't post it at the time but Rudi played golf at Stoneham with a good friend of mine and he told him that RL had categorically told him if he didn't leave he wouldn't play. Ironically he was recalled a week or so after this so I would have looked a plonker if I had posted it but this seems to reinforce that message although of course Rudi is the source in both cases.
  12. I think you will find, and from what we know now in hindsight, that this type of comment was coming out of the OS at a time when many of the senior pro's (for 'senior' read 'high earners') where being engineered out of the club.
  13. I'm not for one minute suggesting Holmes is a more viable alternative than JP but do you think he would be more of a 'risk' than JP? Jan's used 29 players this season so he's hardly light on numbers but it seems we are falling in to the same old trap of quantity rather than quality. Surely trimming 4 or 5 of these players fromt he squad would accommodate one or two 'good' players. Whilst this is not a squad that can achieve automatic promotion it should definitely be performing better than it is now and to me that points to the management / coaching staff.
  14. Unfortunately it just reinforces what a propoganda machine the OS really is.
  15. Some interesting comments from Pekhart regarding his loan spell with us (From SSN) The Czech endured a miserable spell at the struggling Saints earlier this season where he made just two starts in the league, scoring one goal. "After my arrival I was not complaining at all about anything, everything was going fine. Three weeks later, when I played in the starting line-up, they suddenly put me in the stand," he added. "I went to the coach to ask him about the explanation and he replied that it was because of the club's policy. "Since then I did not know what was going on in the team and came on mostly only as a substitute. "Later I found out that the club had huge financial problems and the management wanted to play only with the players who had been at the club ever since. "They stopped picking players who were there on loan." Pekhart's luck did not improve when he returned to Spurs as he admits that manager Harry Redknapp was not even informed that he had returned. "During the first few days of my arrival the coach did not even know I was there," he explained. "I was with the first team for a while, then with the reserve team for a while. Now I am waiting for my agent to arrive and we will start negotiations. "I could not be nominated for matches anyway as I was a Southampton player until January 1st.
  16. You never cease to amaze Prof. Saints were in it for the whole of the first half you say? Righty-ho. The sending-off wasn't? Righty-ho. The Ref rendered the game meaningless by the sending-off? It's not his job to make it a spectacle for the viewing public, it's his job to apply the rules of the games to the best of his ability. It was a clear red-card. As for the offside goal...I agree, and also the penalty was incorrect as was the proceding foul by Lancashire but let's face it Man U could have scored at will and didn't get out of first gear.
  17. Agree entirely which makes RL's decision making that is threatening our very survival in the CCC even more perplexing. Why risk it with short termism risky cost-cutting?
  18. I had a chuckle at this one as well. The Baird rumour sems to be gathering some momentum.
  19. Agreed, and the common denominator? Age and experience.
  20. I doubt JP will have an awful lot of influence or input into these scenarios.
  21. Yes UP it was a red, no question about it. Yes he got the ball first (thankfully). I don't think it was a malicious nasty challenge but a red it was.
  22. The lack of structure of the 'formation' that Jan continues to pursue really hit home today. Whatever the reason it is clearly not working and was highlighted by Paterson trying to perform some kind of midfielders role with dire consequences and the likes of DMG just wandering around. Players just didn't seem to have a clue what their role and responsibilities were. The game passed several of our players by including Gobern, Smith and to a certain extent Surman. Van de Sar must have been freezing. It was just so disappointing. It's difficult to find too many positives but maybe keeping the score down to 3 atleast avoided humiliation and the erosion of confidence. We need something to happen and very quickly.
  23. Are you trying to selectively re-write history again.
  24. What would Aalborg achieve by doing this? Sorry but as the source of this information is the propoganda machine that is the OS it would be good to hear this from a more impartial party.
  25. The OS is exactly that and always will be to varying degrees. Anyone who thinks otherwise is sadly in denial.
