Transfer activity seems to be gathering pace this afternoon including Giles Barnes from Derby to Fulham and James Harper possibly moving from Reading to Boro (implications for Surman?). The Prem activity seems to be hotting up as well, could be an 'interesting' last few days of the window. I think loans ('emergency') are still allowed after the window closes?

"I don't want anyone who isn't better than the players we have," Wotte said. At least he has a different strategy to JP....Pulis, Smith....

See post #207. NC is playing nicely at the moment but it will only be a matter of time before his true colours are shown.....just as they were in every other one of his alter ego's.

Firefighter as well I believe amongst others. The guy's a wind-up merchant and is easily identifiable as when backed into a corner he let's fly with personal attacks. We've seen it time and time again (DW's mother et al). Strangely he seems to do more harm than good to the pro-Lowe cause.

I would say there's a significant difference between a forum member voicing an opinion and a PR plant who has no real interest in the club other than to make polarised posts in favour of his 'employer'.

Terrible news. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

cough cough...Rory Delap

That's dreadful news. I don't mean this to come across the wrong way but can you reassure that this information is actual fact? I can't think of much worse than EC receiving a stack of emails when he's not suffering from this horrible illness. I hope you understand.

The fans are the reason no ones investing are they? You couldn't make it up.

I'm sure it'll only be a matter of time before our forum resident technical tactician who was bullied at school by Adam's dad will tell us of Lallana's inability to play wide right, keeps coming inside, can't pass, doesn't work for the team (are you all still awake?) blah-de-blah. Of course he will quote his 5M swimming badge to endorse his view.

Is Leon Crouch racist? The Daily Echo "suggests" he is.

In that case I suggest you try http://www.getalife.com -

Are you being serious. Really. -
Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well. I used Surman and Lallana as examples but this concept would apply to any players i.e. we would be 'forced' into selling some player(s) to generate much needed cash.

With less than a week to run on the Transfer Window I doubt I'm the only one who is surprised that we still have the likes of Lallana and Surman on our books although there is time for that to change of course. I don't want to see them go but with our perilous financial position it appeared very likely that we would be forced into taking whatever we could get for these two to keep our creditors at bay. This, coupled with the signing of Saeijs, the change in Head Coach and impending new striker (ref Wotte) would indicate the message seems to be onwards and upwards yet the rumours of administration continue to hang over us and with apparent imminent effect. The above would suggest we are not anticipating a 10 point reduction anytime soon. What do you believe is the status / strategy of The Club right now? Are we on a sound enough financial footing that will allow us to push on to the end of the season with a serious effort to maintain our CCC status or do you think the Board have accepted administration is inevitable and therefore no point in selling of the company silver for that money to go straight into the coffers of Aviva et al. Or do you think the present Board are just treading water and awaiting some kind of takeover (Crouch etc)? I'm not sure I've expressed my thoughts very well with this post however the mixed messages I'm 'reading' from the activities of the club seem somewhat conflicting.....

He's had a dig at McMenemy and Crouch on SSN - indirectly that is by referring to previous Chairmen 'and even previous Managers' bickering with the current regime. He also stated is contract only runs to the end of the season. Let's hope this is not one gamble too far but having no one alongside him from the Board at todays press conference was all too reminiscent of Wigley in the mobile office announcing his position - whatever that was!
-
Indeed JP's grasp of the English language was unusually poor and I believe led to some of the discontent through poor communication. The cynic in me says that Wotte was always waiting in the wings and it was only going to be a matter of time before he got his opportunity. I'll be interested to see if we have a change of formation and personnel for Tuesday.....
-
That would be my understanding as well.

This is post #6 so I'm afraid this thread has to stop now, sorry. PS wasn't there a thread floating about ref a Hungarian consortium?
-
Yes that's a fair comment and my comment was not appropriate to you - apologies. It does get a little tiresome when the mantra regarding his alledged inability to work with youngsters is muted as a primary reason for his non-appointment. It's been proven to be a complete falsehood but doesn't stop some repeating it. The position the team was in should also be considered when referring to Pearson's performance but again it's all too convenient to ignore that. I too wasn't overly enamered by his appointment but seeing the structure, confidence and teamwork he introduced after the baffling time of Burley's latterly tenure was very refreshing. He has showed at Leicester that it was no fluke.

What time's the press conference today??

It's Friday. -
He was involved with the England U21 set-up including a spell as the Manager so I guess the FA thought he had the appropriate skills to coach younger players. Sorry if this doesn't fit in with your agenda.

Some of the absolute drivel written in this thread from the pro-Lowe camp is quite beyond comprehension but there you go. Back to the original post...until such times as Crouch is in a position to go forward with the club under his juristiction then 'lining up' a new manager is a pretty worthless project I would have thought.

The press love him as well as he's always good for a few quotes.....albeit the same rubbish.......Plus his limited vocabulary of famous sayings: -the squad is weak, I'm doing the best I can with what I've got -he's triffic, gives a million percent - blah blah blah ZZZZZZZZZ
