If I heard the Radio Solent report correctly they stated that SFC / SLH were in negotiations today with interested investment partners. Quite how accurate this is I do not know. I did hear yesterday from someone who would definitely have an inside track that the 'technicality' for want of a better word of differentiating SFC to SLH was what they are pinning their strategy on. I'm sure they've must have been looking into this for some time and taken advice on it. Obviously if the League don't agree to this differentiation then it's not good. The next 24hrs should reveal a lot.

That's pretty much how I see it PS. It's not a great success ratio to be honest. I know you've got to break a few eggs to make an omelette but our broken eggs are splattered all over the floor. Pulis has to be the most incredulous of the lot and I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe a shrewd business man like RL got suckered into the 'makeweight' theory.

I don't disagree with anything above however you do seem to take criticism of the Club very personally. We all love the Club and hate to see it in it's current state but clearly things are wrong and the forum is as good a place as any to chew the fat over these points. There's no point pretending it's all a garden or roses which I know you don't. Without debate the forum would be left with a couple of matchday threads and that would be it. I just don't see how comments regarding the state of the Club can 'undermine' what the team are trying to achieve unless Wotte comes on here and becomes disheartened at what he reads and goes home and sulks. Sorry I don't think that happens. The team have had very good support this year despite what they have served up in terms of performances. OK, it might not be the numbers but the support in the ground on match days, which is when it matters, has been pretty damned good.

Your increasingly regular use of the phrase 'undermine the club' seems to be a very common one for you and to be honest is becoming a little tiresome. I don't believe any one truly wants to do this and for the life of me cannot see how comments made on a relatively small audienced forum can indeed do this. People are expressing an opinion, that is all, whether you agree with it or not is another matter but it's what the forum is for. Clearly all is not well with our club hence the position we find ourselves in in these troubled times.

The worrying aspect is our recent form, no wins in four games. Wotte started slowly but we had the winning trio streak but results have dropped off since then just as we should be benefitting from him influencing the team with his strategy and tactics and team of his chosing. It's not over yet but every week that slips past without the desperately needed 3 points makes the task seem ever increasingly beyond our grasp.

None of the bottom 4 have had a win in the last four games with Norwich and Barnsley in 5th and 6th from bottom respectively both picking up wins in the last couple of games. When we had our little run of 3 wins on the bounce unfortunately other teams also had good runs but it kept us in touch. We've had a real opportunity in the last four games to make further ground but 3 points out of 12 is killing us. No you're probably right but what is strange is that those who have been the 'worst' have been dropped at some point in time during the season whereas DMG is ever-present. Confusing, no?

Agree entirely. Same posters posting the same - often inflammatory - remarks and a handful of posters crashing virtually every thread with silly sarcastic one-liners that are oh-so-funny. A real shame as in amongst it all there are some good posts and good debates, it's just hard to see the woods for the trees on here nowadays.

2 points in the last 3 games is not exactly what the plan was although we've at least had the other results go in our favour as opposed to our winning 3 game 'run' when everyone else was winning too. Strangely I think we may be closer to the 4th from bottom position after these last 3 results than after the 3rd of our winning trio.

So we've established that DMG can't really play up front, he's certainly no right-sided midfielder as he has demonstrated and now you seem to be suggesting that he struggles to play the 'in-the-hole' role. Any ideas where else we could shoe-horn him in? He'd better hurry up if he's to score the 20+ goals so many forecast on here....and before anyone get's too excited I'm saying this in jest...not that yesterday's performance was very funny.

I wasn't going to carry on with this thread as I've said my piece however I'll have one last go. Firstly I'd say that I normally enjoy your postings CBF but on this thread your posting style seems unusually confrontational but maybe I'm reading too much into that. Personally I believe Wotte's job is harder than Pearsons due to the position in the league when he took over, without the 3 wins we would have been cut adrift (although they didn't come immediately). If he gets us out of the bottom 3 after the last game then he should be given the key to the city and perhaps RL could have a picture of him in his office instead of the train? It will be a remarkable achievement. What I will say however, and I said in my previous posts, is that the circumstances (outside of the league position) of Wotte taking over were more in his favour than when Pearson came in from the outside. I've stated why previously. These are not facts per se, they are my humble opinion.

This debate seems to have run it's course, you have your view and it differs to mine, not a problem. I outlined my reasoning in my previous post so little point going over that ground again. I explained my thoughts behind Wigley and why I didn't consider it relevant to this arguement. In summary I maintain Wotte had many things in his favour that Pearson didn't with the exception of being a 'new man' which is the one point you have highlighted in Pearsons favour. I'm glad Wotte is doing a good job and let's hope he can pull another 4 or 5 wins out of the bag...

No quite sure how you drew that conclusion however to be clear. Firstly you cannot disassociate the ability of the man to perform the role regardless of the position he found himself in when taking on the job. In other words Sir Alex would make a good fist of any job he took on whereas I (or you) would probably fail. Secondly, much of the team make-up was down to Wotte, we know that some of the signings where of his influence so we can conclude that the team would be players he considered good enough and also he would know something about them and their abilities and character. That's a big advantage of someone coming in cold and having to hit the ground running I'm sure you would agree?

So far he's a bit of a balsa wood enigma but he seems to have something about him...time will tell.

That's a surprise. Very difficult to make meaningful comparisons however the fact that Wotte was part of the seamless total football approach and was involved for 9 months in parallel with JP and responsible for making a number of the signings then I would have thought that clearly put him at an advantageous position over Pearson. They come across as having a similar approach of getting players organised in a role they understand and a formation that is structured. A bit of fight, work ethic and discipline and away you go.

Disappointing but not a disaster if some of the other games finish as they stand now. We've not lost ground on a few around us but 3 points would have been massive tonight.

SB I'm not sure why you are struggling to grasp the concept that Lucketti was only 'unavailable' for one single, solitary, individual, lone, solo game which sort of makes your whole arguement rather weak I'm afraid. I'm sure you are aware we won that game as well. Not sure why you have such a beef with Pearson but perhaps you could find something more tangible than the Lucketti signing (which was highly succesful) to gripe about.

Really? because he wasn't able to play in one sole game, which we won by the way. His signing and contribution was one of the main reasons we stayed up. Let yourself down there a tad SB.

My apologies if this has been posted before. In Tuesday's Echo was an article on Wotton however there were a couple of paragraphs relating to Pulis. The meaning may have got lost in 'translation' but would seem to suggest Pulis won't get a game unless there's a lot of injuries. It begs the question why did we sign him in the first place?......yes I know 'in case we get lots of injuries!'

The Norwich goal was due to a schoolboy error by the QPR defender as well.

It's quite incredible the way results have been going these last few games. I think 4 of the bottom 6 won last night, it's mad. Just shows how important our wins were as we'd be cut adrift by now without those 9 points. BUT we have to keep the run going as it looks like alot of teams in the poo are finding some form at the same time as us.

I thought Wotte was recruited to run the Academy and Reserves not the first team?

Although he has taken a lot of stick this season there were also plenty of people pointing out that the position he was playing in and the formation of the team was doing him / the team no favours at all. This only points to the failure of JP as a manager and it is such a shame that the club didn't act earlier. It seems everyone bar JP could see the problems and lets hope we can salvage this season.
