So, cutting to the chase, is it Strachan, or not?

Yes it's been a whole week since Wotte was given the elbow. I'd rather we took our time and got the right man rather than just rush into yet another short term appointment. Clearly things are going on behind the scenes and for once it's being done in a low key and professional manner.

Patience is a virtue......not normally a trait of SFC fans :smt024 -
Hopefully the new regime will mean an end to the ITKers, who, let's face it were clearly far from it. Of course there is a sense of urgency to get the new manager in place and without doubt this activity is going on behind the scenes and let's hope it stays that way. ML is a proven businessman of outstanding success and we have to trust that he and his team are going about this in the right manner. Let's get someone in but let's make sure it's the right person to help us going forwards. Another few days won't make any difference so all the worrying and agitating on here should be put to one side.

Unfortunately it's got nothing to do with earning your right in a footballing sense it's just a question of whether you have enough money behind you to compete at the given level. You've had a suger daddy that has enabled you to pay the likes of Crouch et al c£75K per week when clearly an attendance level of 19K can not sustain this in the long term. Football is in dire straits.

Trousers you kill me.

That would be my take on the situation too.

He'll be the one on his PDA looking at http://www.tiresomeattentionseeker.com

Agreed. It's time to move on.

I only normally post in the Saints related forum so excuse me if this is in the wrong place or already posted but it is being reported (From WHTID and various other news sources) that John Hartson has testicular cancer which has spread to his brain. Awful news indeed.

Lol he looks like he's in desperate need of a bloomin good pre-season

Poll: Would you be happy for Pearson to be our manager?
Greenridge replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
That's almost the funniest post on the forum. Strangely coincidental that the vast majority with this so-called balanced view were supporters of a certain Chairman. -
How's your take-over coming along?

His Pompey link is irrelevant but his performance there is not.

The Club was going one way when Pearson took over and the momentum needed halting before it could be turned around and some semblance introduced that allowed for us to get out of trouble. I don't disagree with you quoting 'facts' but there were circumstances involved that the likes of yourself and TDD conveniently ignore because it doesn't suit your line of thinking. -

You never give up do you. -
With the right coaching and nurturing AL will go on to be a very good player indeed. Simple.

Would seem to suggest 'the Swiss' consortium is in pole

Let's hope it's a sign we can get the blend of age and experience right this year.

On the OS (can't see it here...yet) http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1712801,00.html

Probably true. What is worrying is the quote that we only have 21 squad players...and 3 of them (maybe 4 if KD was included in those stats) are keepers
-
Shame to see him go but it's one position we're not short of numbers on with Bart, Forecast and Poke

The key paragraph being the last one They clearly couldn't do it then so why should they be able to do so now. IMO their reputation has been tarnished beyond the point they would have the support of the fans.
-
Assuming that one of the potential buyers is close then that, coupled with the sales of DMG and Surman would almost mean there would be no winding up of the club in the very near future. If Fry has the opportunity to get xx in the £ back for the creditors through a sale that may take another few days to complete then he would do this rather than liquidate the club and get zero for them.

Dignity and Loyalty are not good reasons to appoint someone. However we are where we are right now and until things change we have little choice but to support the decision. The new owners, whoever they are and whenever they come in, may well have different ideas.
