  1. I see Campbell has come out (not literally lol) to say he wants a move to Newcastle. Things have got to be bad if you want to go to a Club that can't find a buyer, has lost all it's players and...oh, wait a minute
  2. Thank you for that rudely put argument. I don't feel in any way superior, it is just an opinion that is all, however it is one endorsed by people in the game who know an awful lot more than I (and possibly you) will ever know. I don't think anyone has built him up to some kind of superstar but there are plenty of people trying to knock him down for some reason. In time he will become a very very good player.
  3. Not entirely sure that a comparison with MLT is fair he is a bit of a one off I think you'd agree? But to answer yours and nickh's points then he absolutely has a long way to go but the potential is there of that there is no doubt. His positional play is poor at times but sometimes, just sometimes you have to forgive a player if he offers other elements to the game. His shooting needs improvement as well but at least he gets in position to have a dig, I didn't see too many goals from midfield elsewhere in the team last year but don't see the same criticism aimed at other players? And whilst he's not a teenager any more he is still learning and he needs decent coaching and direction and also to fit in a team style that suits him and the team. We could play a rigid 4-4-2 where everyone runs like buggery with a 110% effort and little skill but I doubt that many of us want to see that. We want creativity, exciting football, (I'll stop short of Total Football), to be entertained with some goals and imortantly victories. If that's what you want you need to find a way of having players like AL in your team.
  4. And unfortunately I fear you'll have to keep repeating it for those that struggle with some basic concepts.
  5. Plenty on here have slagged him off relentlessly and a fair amount have supported him. He will come good there is no doubt and he will become a very very valuable asset to the team. The challenge will be how he fits into the structure of the team / team formation. Of course there will always be some who have a 5 metre swimming badge or Janet and John Level 1 football coaching badge that will tell you otherwise.
  6. His career is really not going as he'd have hoped I'm sure. Another to leave SFC for the golden paved streets elsewhere only to find the grass is not always greener on the other side after all.
  7. Well SJ scored 20+ in the CC? I'm just playing devils advocate here. On the face of things Lambert looks a cracking buy but looking at some of the comments on here it would seem a lot of SFC fans must have been watching him week in week out? Always appears to be a trend on this forum that when a player leaves he is absolutely sh!te all of a sudden and anyone coming in is the new messiah...I just hope that's the case!
  8. Seems a lot of expert opinion on Lambert....or is it just based on his goals tally?
  9. I lol'd at that...very good.
  10. Lose lips sink ships
  11. You weren't too keen on him then! I'd agree with some of your points but with the right guidance and coaching he will become a very good player indeed. It's the first game of the season, give AP the chance to work some magic.
  12. You don't think he should have done better with the goal?
  13. Oh dear it's started already. Uber fan speaks out. Have you ever heard of television...it's a relatively new technological development.
  14. Pompey are trying to sign Viduka but can't finalise things as he is still on holiday! A week before the Prem season kicks off and the week when the other leagues are in action this guy is still on holiday lol! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5479705,00.html Even Hart admits he has no idea what physical condition he is in....desperate needs means for desperate measures. They've also cancelled the contract of Arnold Mvuemba
  15. That's a funny time to make an enquiry, I would have thought the people involved would have other things on their mind at half-time.
  16. A pretty decent effort all round against a team which is expected to be there or thereabouts. Patterson lead the line well and for someone who apparently wants to leave I thought Saga put the effort in. Shame about the goal which Davis should have done better with but he made a great double save and even collected a couple of crosses. Plenty to build on if AP can add a couple or more signings
  17. Lol Phil i'm having a bad start to the day!.....my only excuse is generally FF is on the money. I'm going back under the sheets now to hide my embarassment. :smt100
  18. Yes of course you are right, my bad. Sounds like he was in a conventional hospital under guard rather than a prison hospital so I guess it free's up the costs of guarding him if nothing else.
  19. Which is nice. Shows the Club is acting professionally. Also a blessing to see the end of 'I have been told', 'my contact informs me', 'I have it on very good authority' twaddle! Facts, we want facts....oh OK a little bit of gossip as well!
  20. Pro's and con's to both sides of the argument. For me, from a justice perspective, he should stay in jail. If you're prepared to do the crime then be prepared to do the time. I don't buy the reason that he is no longer a threat to society, that's got nothing to do with it, he is in prison for a crime and one where someone ultimately lost their life. Whether the death of the guard can be directly attributed to the robbery is up for debate and there appears to be no direct link to Biggs but nonetheless his gang was involved then by association he is guilty. He's not long for this earth anyway so it really is neither here nor there but it would seem to be setting a precedent for all terminally ill prisoners?
  21. ..that's more worrying than the -10
  22. Lol looks like Nugent is the next one away with more to follow... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5476449,00.html ...it just gets better and better

It will be interesting to see the attendance statistics at the end of the season....not just pre-season ticket sales. I'd be a little surprised to say the least if Norwich out do Newcastle. I think they are also suffering with the 'Chairman Syndrome' up there with a certain Mr Ashley who appears to be making a grand job of destroying the club. Anyway, back to the cannon fodder down the road...
