  1. Lol that would look good on a Pompey message board...any volunteers?
  2. It's always worth quoting the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and telling them you are fully aware of your rights under this Act.
  3. Don't you see the irony in this statement... You're right about goals but I don't see the lack of goals argument levelled at any of the other midfielders?
  4. LOL only you could write that JohnB! Whilst one swallow doesn't make a summer let's hope this performance from Lallana will show what he has the potential for and will cut him some slack from his fierce critics.
  5. How about your outburst regarding Daren W's Mother? Or have you forgotten that, I certainly haven't and I'm sure DW hasn't either. Of course it was not under your current pseudonym so I guess that will be your retort. Back to the OP and you make some fair comments, you often do but invariably you revert to type and throw in one of your idiosyncratic 'controversial' statements to see what rises you can get. I had to chuckle when you made your comments regarding terminology that you accuse Pearson of using and then when proved wrong by Wes Tender you resort to ridiculing him for countering your argument. You couldn't make it up you really couldn't.
  6. When we have a 'team' we can have a team photo.
  7. Encouraging comments.
  8. I think you make a number of relevant points there however I'm still struggling with why you continue to fire broadsides at Crouch with accusations that should equally be applied to Lowe and Wilde? As has been said none of them come out of this whole sorry mess with too much to crow about but Crouch certainly dug into his own pocket when asked. Whether that was for personal gain or purely as a supporter we can only but speculate.
  9. AP is on record of saying we have too many players. Unfortunately not only too many but lacking in quality as well. I'm sure we'll be looking to offload those deemed surplus to requirements asap but quite who would take Pulis is a mystery...Pompey maybe?
  10. You seem to have countered your own argument there. I have no problem with short term loan signings if it gives us an immediate impact and a little breathing space to find the right player which may or may not involve money. We've made enough knee-jerk signings in the last few years to last us a lifetime but unfortunately the players rarely last five minutes...figuratively speaking. I agree, ideally we need a pairing at CB than can form a partnership but history tells us this is not an easy task. We have to give AP some time to formulate his plans, put his backroom staffing / scouting structure in place and put together a team of his own making that can play in a style dictated by himself.
  11. Have to agree with you Phil. Also, fortunately it would seem we are in a position where we don't desperately need the money so selling him would not achieve a great deal. With the addition of Dean Hammond and hopefully another then you may see a set-up that gives Lallana a better chance. I'm more worried about the likes of Wotton and Lancashire to be honest but then AP has said these are areas he has identified as requiring additions.
  12. I thought Nineteen was going to do the foreword :smt062
  13. What is your obsession with MLT, Crouch, McMenemy et al? We know they were in the other camp to your idol but just like him they are gone, they are history. Each and everyone will feel they tried to do the best for SFC in their own unique way. It is nauseating to see you repeat the same guff on each and every thread on the board. You are singularly making this board bored. Move on like most others have and be grateful we still have a club to support.
  14. That could just about get the award for the earliest shout in a season as a 'must win' lol.
  15. And hence why virtually every post that this person(s) scribes is so pathetic. Occasionally there are points of note and debate but he can't help himself by putting an oh-so-controversial statement in there to get a ride from the few that feed him. I can only assume it is some form of lack of self-esteem that drives him on to gain minor noteriety on a small forum such as this. Bit sad really.
  16. Unfortunately I fear this would see the price of the deal go from £400K to £500K. I just can't make my mind up regarding Gillett, he seems to have a few good games then a few shockers although of course it seems no one is exempt from that pattern.
  17. There, that's more accurate I think
  18. It wouldn't be the first time....hides head in shame. :-#
  19. Doh, indeed they were. I'll get my coat.
  20. Blackburn were in the Premiership in '97!
  21. I see Campbell has come out (not literally lol) to say he wants a move to Newcastle. Things have got to be bad if you want to go to a Club that can't find a buyer, has lost all it's players and...oh, wait a minute
  22. Thank you for that rudely put argument. I don't feel in any way superior, it is just an opinion that is all, however it is one endorsed by people in the game who know an awful lot more than I (and possibly you) will ever know. I don't think anyone has built him up to some kind of superstar but there are plenty of people trying to knock him down for some reason. In time he will become a very very good player.
  23. Not entirely sure that a comparison with MLT is fair he is a bit of a one off I think you'd agree? But to answer yours and nickh's points then he absolutely has a long way to go but the potential is there of that there is no doubt. His positional play is poor at times but sometimes, just sometimes you have to forgive a player if he offers other elements to the game. His shooting needs improvement as well but at least he gets in position to have a dig, I didn't see too many goals from midfield elsewhere in the team last year but don't see the same criticism aimed at other players? And whilst he's not a teenager any more he is still learning and he needs decent coaching and direction and also to fit in a team style that suits him and the team. We could play a rigid 4-4-2 where everyone runs like buggery with a 110% effort and little skill but I doubt that many of us want to see that. We want creativity, exciting football, (I'll stop short of Total Football), to be entertained with some goals and imortantly victories. If that's what you want you need to find a way of having players like AL in your team.
  24. And unfortunately I fear you'll have to keep repeating it for those that struggle with some basic concepts.
  25. Plenty on here have slagged him off relentlessly and a fair amount have supported him. He will come good there is no doubt and he will become a very very valuable asset to the team. The challenge will be how he fits into the structure of the team / team formation. Of course there will always be some who have a 5 metre swimming badge or Janet and John Level 1 football coaching badge that will tell you otherwise.
