  1. The midfield is so fat up that the CBs have no help whatsoever when Brentford break. I was worried Ralph might pull a formation like this when he said that you can't man mark Erickson, He may be right about that , but you can at least try and get within 10 yards of him. Crazy set up, but a shame that AA wasn't a yard further back when that ball broke for him,
  2. That was a shitshow ! 2 1 to Palace, and Zaha has served an eviction notice to JWP, who must now leave his head . Match Day 0 Points +1 GD Head to head +2 points +5 GD This is based on the boy from saints figures above . This week it is Brentford away, which equates to the 2 nil win at Sheffield United. Game 36 was a 3 1 home win over Fulham, so if we fail to win a Brentford this season will be , from a statistics point of view, a pile of pants !
  3. Looking at the Guardian minute by minute on Monday night, they said that Brentford's 3 at the back made them vulnerable to attacks from the United full backs, and that everything was coming through Erickson, much as everything came through Couhtino and Mount for our two recent hidings. So for me it has to be FF KWP Bednarek/Lycano Sallisu Perraud Romeu JWP Diallo S Armstrong Tella/Redmond/Djenepo (for some pace) Broja ( they are all shit at the moment but at least he worries defenders ) That way you could always go 2 up and pay a diamond .
  4. I am a bit worried after this weekends results, I always feel that goal difference is a good indicator at the end of the season. Us Burnley and the dugouts are all roughly the same, Leeds are on minus 34 . It is going to be a nervous few weeks.
  5. That was a flat performance to say the least, although having said that , we were comfortable until Adams made that shit pass when a break was on to set them rolling for the equaliser. He was poor today. Other than the 2 cm s no one was above 6 out of 10 today. Bring on the end of the season , the players are already on holiday
  6. Match Day 33 are Burnley away (we won 0-1 at their place last season in the H2H) and a 1-1 draw with Leicester in the Match Day comparison. The comparison to last season is looking a bit more positive again, and we're tangibly doing comparatively better in the H2H and with some lower table teams coming up next we should expect to see both stats improve further. All I want is some improvement season on season and it's currently looking like that has happened so far... Match Day Comparison: Compared with last Season's MD 33 was a late loss at Spurs to a Var penalty call. +3 points; +3 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: Last season's comparison was 1 nil win to Saints so bad on this one as well +7 points; +9 GD Next match up is Brighton away, were we won last year, thanks to a late Var penalty . Last Season's MD 34 hard fought draw against Leicester. Lets just hope the team turn up for this one and not just go to the pier !
  7. Started well, until till Roberts had his Cuco Martina moment, worldy. After that , our shape suited their defend in an 8 and break plan. 2nd goal , Cork is stopping Fraser from moving, and is offside when then header comes in , so he has to be active, and so offside.
  8. Looks like this slipped through the net this week, a bit like the entire Chelsea attack ! Match day comparison Three more goals let in than away at West Brom , so 0 points +2 GD Head to Head + 7 points +9 GD This weeks comparison . Last Season's home game with Arsenal was a limp 3 1 defeat , while match 32 was a late Var 2 1 defeat at Spurs, so there is potential for some improvement here. Just can't see it myself .
  9. It is over a month since the Villa game, and yet we have no answer if a team decides to play 2 up front with a no 10 in the hole. This should have been remedied mid way through the first half at villa, and after Chelsea hit the bar twice in the first 10 minutes. Drop Romeu in front of the two CBs' and tell Stu and Elyanousi not to give the full backs the freedom of the park ! Also, it has been clear all season that Werner and Lukaku struggle against a defence that sits deep, so why play such a high back line ?? Total leadership failure.
  10. Fuck this I'm off. We are so open , it is unbearable .
  11. Not watched any CL football since it stopped being on ITV and got the Saturday night final. The idea that you get in the CL for winning the cup is OK, it should be more important than finishing 4th. The idea that it is conditional on you being Man U, Spurs or Arsenal is bollocks.
  12. As Oscar Wilde once said, to sign Nigel Quasie once is unfortunate, to sign him twice .... Quassie, Davenport, Bernard and all the dross he brought in in the Championship fucked us up for years
  13. Costil has fallen out with the new Bordeaux owners. Full French international who they well be desperate to get rid of after they get relegated this year.
  14. On a positive note, Salisu has been making a few errors lately. Hopefully him, his agent and the big 6 will realise that he needs another year or two with us to develop. Just seen Dean gave only 2 minutes injury time, 10 substitutions, 3goals and all that time-wasting. Prick
  15. Watching Barnsley against table topping Fulham. Looking at the Fulham support, it may be difficult to get a cab in West London today, as the Fulham support looks like they came up in a fleet of fifty taxis
  16. Cheating C@nts. It was clear that Wood wold score, as he has been soo shit, and the other goal was a great/ one in a hundred flick from another player that wasn't on their books in December, Dint't think we. Didn't think we were too bad, if the Adams shot was an inch lower we would have won. Their shit housing, muscle strain thing wound ne up no end, and friend fell for it every time. Got a few friends who are Newcastle fans and I have too say, with this amoral regime in charge, I hope it is at leat anther 50 years before you win another trophy. May you be the next Everton!
  17. Quick question. Is this our first Thursday night home game since Ben Shiva in the Europa League ? Such a weirf night to be playing football.
  18. Stopped watching after the 4th goal. Ralph should have moved Romeu back after about 20 minutes, not wait until half time to change it . Never coped with Villa's shape. Also it seemed like Forster was the only one to put in a perfomance. Tino was shocking. Need Salisu back on Thursday, and need to have a plan to deal with a midfield diamond, as everyone will try it against us now. If anyone at the club is reading it, there is a chapter in Inverting the Pyramid on how to do this, look it up.
  19. Started out as a right winger under Chris Nicholl. Branfoot moved him to the left wing, to accommodate Perry Groves !!! He also played him about 10 yards in front of the left back, so he was miles away from goal. If you look at the famous 2 goal games against Newcastle, both the goals were up the left hand side. Back to the right hand side of a front 3 under Dave Jones and Souness. Ballie and Dave Merrington gave him a completely free role . Ballie's famous instruction " He is your best player, give him the ball until he is sick of it " . Can't really remember much under Hoddle, only that he was injured a lot, and that Hoddle was jealous of his skills . Finally, under Stuart Gray, just go and score the last ever goal at the Dell with your wrong foot .
  20. Ralph 3 keyboard warriors 1. Great performance, especially perraud and valley. Vive la France
  21. Can we run out to 'What's New Pussycat ' for this one ?
  22. I was on holiday in Teneriife for this game, in a remote timeshare. The only way to keep in touch was listening to the commentary on a Sky match, with no picture, and wait for the occasional update. I heard them say Watson had scored, and it took me a few seconds to remember that we had just signed him. Celebrated with a few beers, but I didn't realise that Sin was Spanish for without alcohol
  23. Don't think it will continue though. I have looked at the remaining fixtures, and if we match last seasons results, it will give us 9 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats, putting us on 60 points! That is title winning form !
  24. Can I add the following 80s activity. When Saints were away, if I was out shopping with the wife, I would be In a d out of Currys and Dixons, looking at the TV section if they had the scores on ceefax .
