It is over a month since the Villa game, and yet we have no answer if a team decides to play 2 up front with a no 10 in the hole. This should have been remedied mid way through the first half at villa, and after Chelsea hit the bar twice in the first 10 minutes. Drop Romeu in front of the two CBs' and tell Stu and Elyanousi not to give the full backs the freedom of the park ! Also, it has been clear all season that Werner and Lukaku struggle against a defence that sits deep, so why play such a high back line ?? Total leadership failure.

Fuck this I'm off. We are so open , it is unbearable .

Not watched any CL football since it stopped being on ITV and got the Saturday night final. The idea that you get in the CL for winning the cup is OK, it should be more important than finishing 4th. The idea that it is conditional on you being Man U, Spurs or Arsenal is bollocks.

'Biggest stupid thing' - Redknapp on joining Saints
redkeith replied to Wurzel's topic in The Saints
As Oscar Wilde once said, to sign Nigel Quasie once is unfortunate, to sign him twice .... Quassie, Davenport, Bernard and all the dross he brought in in the Championship fucked us up for years -
Costil has fallen out with the new Bordeaux owners. Full French international who they well be desperate to get rid of after they get relegated this year.
-
On a positive note, Salisu has been making a few errors lately. Hopefully him, his agent and the big 6 will realise that he needs another year or two with us to develop. Just seen Dean gave only 2 minutes injury time, 10 substitutions, 3goals and all that time-wasting. Prick

Watching Barnsley against table topping Fulham. Looking at the Fulham support, it may be difficult to get a cab in West London today, as the Fulham support looks like they came up in a fleet of fifty taxis

Cheating C@nts. It was clear that Wood wold score, as he has been soo shit, and the other goal was a great/ one in a hundred flick from another player that wasn't on their books in December, Dint't think we. Didn't think we were too bad, if the Adams shot was an inch lower we would have won. Their shit housing, muscle strain thing wound ne up no end, and friend fell for it every time. Got a few friends who are Newcastle fans and I have too say, with this amoral regime in charge, I hope it is at leat anther 50 years before you win another trophy. May you be the next Everton!

Quick question. Is this our first Thursday night home game since Ben Shiva in the Europa League ? Such a weirf night to be playing football.

Stopped watching after the 4th goal. Ralph should have moved Romeu back after about 20 minutes, not wait until half time to change it . Never coped with Villa's shape. Also it seemed like Forster was the only one to put in a perfomance. Tino was shocking. Need Salisu back on Thursday, and need to have a plan to deal with a midfield diamond, as everyone will try it against us now. If anyone at the club is reading it, there is a chapter in Inverting the Pyramid on how to do this, look it up.

Started out as a right winger under Chris Nicholl. Branfoot moved him to the left wing, to accommodate Perry Groves !!! He also played him about 10 yards in front of the left back, so he was miles away from goal. If you look at the famous 2 goal games against Newcastle, both the goals were up the left hand side. Back to the right hand side of a front 3 under Dave Jones and Souness. Ballie and Dave Merrington gave him a completely free role . Ballie's famous instruction " He is your best player, give him the ball until he is sick of it " . Can't really remember much under Hoddle, only that he was injured a lot, and that Hoddle was jealous of his skills . Finally, under Stuart Gray, just go and score the last ever goal at the Dell with your wrong foot .

Ralph 3 keyboard warriors 1. Great performance, especially perraud and valley. Vive la France

Can we run out to 'What's New Pussycat ' for this one ?

I was on holiday in Teneriife for this game, in a remote timeshare. The only way to keep in touch was listening to the commentary on a Sky match, with no picture, and wait for the occasional update. I heard them say Watson had scored, and it took me a few seconds to remember that we had just signed him. Celebrated with a few beers, but I didn't realise that Sin was Spanish for without alcohol

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
redkeith replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
Don't think it will continue though. I have looked at the remaining fixtures, and if we match last seasons results, it will give us 9 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats, putting us on 60 points! That is title winning form ! -
Can I add the following 80s activity. When Saints were away, if I was out shopping with the wife, I would be In a d out of Currys and Dixons, looking at the TV section if they had the scores on ceefax .

Wow that was quick, so sad. Hope it wasn't painful. Condolences to all his friends and family. -
He was, apart from not booking Shaw for throwing the ball away first half, and also shows pull back attempt on Broja in the 2nd. Just because Broja shrugged him off, it's still a booking
-
I was there for the cup win with tiss and Barry Horne, and that is by far the best performance up there since then . Like both games we could have scored 8. Brilliant , f**k you north London yobs
-
Has anyone else noticed that Broja is fantastic when the ball is played up the channels, but not very good on crosses, eg that one from Tino on Saturday and that tap in against Burnley (?) . Ostenstaad was the same for us, as are Lukaku and Werner at Chelsea. Maybe he wont be the answer too all their prayers, as they don't see to be able to provide that service to the £160 million duo that they already have .

Juanmi scored twice yesterday for bets in a 4 nil copa del rey win at his old club Real Sociadad. Sociadad would have gone one nil up, but Var ruled it out based on a wrong frame.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
redkeith replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
If I was Blackford, I would keep one of those small car fire extinguishers in my pocket, and the next time Bojo lies to Parliament, he should just walk across the aisle, spray Johnsons trousers with it and say " sorry, I thought the right Honourable Members pants were on fire !" He should get away with it, as fire extinguisher didn't exist when the parliamentary code was last update by Pitt the toddler, or whoever it was. -

Very sorry to hear your news. I have a bit of time on my hands , so I could take it on till the end of the season. Stay strong . -
As soon this transfer was mooted, someone put up an analysis of his game, apparently he doesn't like being pressed. Just hope for him that no opposition Coaches have access to that info!

Add Sygurdson to that list too. Chester Prison are going to have a seriously good football team .
