Saints 2-2 (5-3 on pens) Torquay - Match Reaction
saints_is_the_south replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
First 10 mins we came out & looked like we'd pummel em, after that we just didn't look interested & they just wanted it more. We were lucky to get through last night. Not overally concerned tho, we had Jaidi, Trottman, Mellis & Lallana all missing but still, the team we put out should have won comfortably in 90 mins. -
LOL - he's winning every position at the moment by some way.

Was posted on here after the Gillingham game, can't recall where the original poster had heard it tho. Either way we're going to be naming a strong team without too many changes imo. -

Pards said he wanted to name an unchanged team from Sat but would be forced to make changes due to Mellis being on international duty & Lallana picking up a knock. So one would imagine there will be 2 changes & that will be that. I'd go with the sort of 4-3-3 that we played on sat. Anyone know whether Thomas is fit? If so play him at RB & move James into the middle. -----------------Davis------------------- Thomas----Jaidi-------Trottman----Harding -------James---Wotton--Hammond------- Papa-------------------------------Holmes ----------------Lambert----------------- -

Could suggest a day out in Newcastle, or even Edinburgh & then get the train down for the game! -
Northam has been open since they started selling tickets for the game. Northam & Itchen for this game.
-
5,000 sold so far according to Mr Luker.

Getting tickets on Friday, first London away day of the season for me after missing Charlton so very much looking forward to this!

5 of us going up for this, 1 being the designated driver! Tis the day before my birthday so plenty of beer in store for the day. Probably leaving Southampton about 9 to get up there for about 2ish. One of the lads coming in our group grew up in Hartlepool so we should be ok for knowledge of the best pubs! Can't wait! -

I lol'd greatly, as did the rest of my house when i told them -
Also - why come on a internet message board & moan about it when you could just have a word with people doing it face to face in the ground?

What players do we have that are CCC standard
saints_is_the_south replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Mellis, with a full season of first team football behind him could also be a decent CCC player imo. -
I can't be very far behind you on that! Wotton made a difference in midfield yesterday, his holding role allowed Mellis & Hammond to get forward without having to worry too much about getting back as they knew Wotton would be there to break up their play. I thought on Tuesday that Hammond & Morgan are too similar to play together, both want to get hold of the ball & pass it around but neither are that great at defensive duties & thats where Wotton becomes more effective in the formation played yesterday. Finally, a word for Mellis who was gash against Bristol Rovers but a lot lot better yesterday, unlucky not to score too.

OS - Northam for more saints fans/moving seats update
saints_is_the_south replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
I'm not a chav & neither are any of the people that sit around me in the Northam. HTH -
15 notes for non season ticket holders on the day will put a lot of people off tho. I'd say between 7 & 8k
-
Wasn't going to go but tempted now, probably get a ticket tomorrow.
-
Been our best player in a number of games this season, truly great signing especially on a free transfer.

Also having half of the Itchen shut now is going to look a bit weird. -

saints_is_the_south replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
From what they are saying, they are just re-opening blocks 36-39 in the Kingsland/Northam corner & closing blocks 4 & 5? Nothing about extending the Northam into the away section & moving the away fans round. Or have i got this wrong? -
Where do you expect Saints to finish this season?
saints_is_the_south replied to Pancake's topic in The Saints
Good post, spot on. -
Italian football is going through somewhat of a crisis period at the moment & if the teams that are in Europe this season don't start performing then Germany will take the 4th CL place from them for next season. Shame, I'm a big fan of Italian football, get some great games in Serie A thanks to most teams giving up on the defensive attitude & going all out attack, my team Roma can't defend for toffee but are still the joint highest scorers in Serie A this season, makes for great entertainment.

Mourinho appears to be losing the plot, the media scrutiny in Italy which is 10x what it is here seems to be getting to him. There isn't a week that goes by without him slagging somebody off in the media, he's made enemies with just about everyone. I think he'll be off in the summer when Juve beat Inter to the Scudetto this season.
