Been saying for ages that we should go for Bennett since he's available on a free this summer, would be good in L1. If we could sign him & Murty then we'd have 4 decent options at CB with Perry & Thomas also there, Lancashire could then be shipped out on loan, don't think he is the answer never impressed when given a chance. In an ideal world 2 players per position is needed for good competition for places & as long as the right players are there offers good strength in depth.

I thought the FL said their concerns were about where the funding was coming from? Nothing to do with Pinnacle pulling out due to further point deductions. Nothing makes sense anymore!

Meridian said last night that they'd phoned Fry twice during the day & he confirmed that at both times he was in the middle of negotiations, didn't say who with but atleast he is definatly in negotitations with someone!

As a relativley young fan, the game that will stick in my mind more than any will always be the 4-3 game Vs Norwich at SMS in the relegation season. Ultimatley it meant nothing in the end but it was just simply one of the most compelling games of football i have ever seen & been involved in as a supporter in the stadium, i have never heard SMS erupt as loud as it did when Camara's goal went in 2 minutes from time. A game i'll never forget as long as i live. Actual best moment is the 3-0 win against the skates in 03/04 season - just brilliant, especially Marian's goal to make it 2 infront of the Northam. I pray these days will return, as most of my life as a Saint have been doom & gloom, for now its just staying in existence that matters though. Saints til i die.

LOL - I was trying to believe it when i read the first post, he ruined it with the bit about his mate preparing the room for a press conference though lol.

+1 on both the pubs in Ashurst. Turfcutters is also a good one. The Mill at Gordleton in Hordle is meant to be really good, never been though. The Walhampton Arms just outside Lymington on the road to Beaulieu is very nice too.

From the way he's speaking on the OS it sounds as if he's been told that he is going to be here long term. Hope he isn't but its good news for now & as has already been said fair play to him for the way he has conducted himself through this whole sorry saga, atleast someone is going to be down there actually taking training which is a bonus so that aslong as we do manage to get taken over then the players will be in some sort of decent shape for the season. Never had much of a problem with Wotte, atleast he's got a clear passion for the club & is trying to do his best, I firmly believe had he been in charge of the team from the start of last season instead of Poortvliet then we may well still be in the Championship. That said, i do think its best he goes once this is all over & we start off from a completly new slate.

Fioranelli is in talks to buy Roma. HTH The Swiss are there & have serious money (billions rather than millions) if what i have been told by what should be a very reliable source is true.
