  1. Great post, Derry. WE (the fans) don't deserve the punishment. The players don't deserve the punishment. All the people who work at SMS don't deserve the punishment. As has happened at Luton, Bournemouth and elsewhere, the people who do desrve punishment get off scot free and live to form other companies, etc, etc..
  2. It's all so complicated... (sigh).
  3. Technically, SFC is not insolvent - yet! So the FL should not award a points deduction. After all, the league did nothing when Irving Scholar drove a coach and horses through the spirit of the regulations when he took over at Tottenham all those years ago. They did nothing through all the other reverse takeovers and shell company financing so if they take any action today they are being both unfair and hypocritical. It would be a different matter if they could show that there had been some financial impropriety in the affairs of SLH or SFC, but I think we'd know by now if that was the case. If SFC can continue until the end of the season without outside funding or the administrators can find a buyer for SLH then I think there is no reason, legally or morally, for a points deduction. It will be interesting to hear what the league has to say.
  4. Am I right in thinking the administrators choose who buys up the bits from the wreckage that is SLH? If so, then I hope they do take their time and choose what is best for the long term future of SFC, not just take the first offer from someone with a suitcase full of cash! Perhaps due dilligence should apply to thought processes, too!
  5. Stuart Pearce? He might like a full-time job!
  6. The PA system is in place and ready, but the fat lady isn't singing... yet! Gotta be optimistic.
  7. Provided SFC can still operate, I don't see how the League can dock us points legally, If there's no investment by the end of the season, we'll be in deep trouble and the points won't make much difference. What I would like to see is the players playing like their lives depended on a result for the remainder of the games and, who knows, we might just avoid relegation.
  8. All this talk of who we'd rather have is largely irrelevant at the moment. If someone doesn't stump up a large wad of cash soon, SFC will cease to exist. That is the sad, unpalatable truth. As usual, I expect the fans opinions to be the last to be considered.
  9. Andover, just to prove that intelligent life can emanate from there...
  10. Doncaster 1-0 QPR Ha! - I am too slow at typing.
  11. For all his graft, I never saw Brett score a goal like that.
  12. Patterson New Ormerod? Don't say that, he may never score again!
  13. Killer is a true Saints legend - I can believe it's true, I hope it's true and if he can improve our goal difference, that could be what keeps us out of League One and in the Championship next season.
  14. What we have we hold. You don't play poker then.
  15. "The Cardiff game is coming up with all the chants of "sheep ****gers" Are you sure this is aimed at the Welsh? There are an awful lot of these types living in Gloucestershire, if you know what I mean!
  16. Did you hear the comments about Pearson later on? The presenters were marvelling at Leicester's 12 point lead at the top of League 1 and at the banter between Pearson and Mandaric. Apparently Pearson gives Mandaric a hard time and won't be rolled over which Mandaric really respects. Another reason why Pearson had to go? Who does Lowe really respect?
  17. He can run, look at who he's racing here!
  18. He certainly has done his bit, he's taken us from the brink of sustainable success and brought us to the edge of the toilet that is League 1. We've had experience of more managers than nearly any club in the known universe, had first team squads packed with mediocrity, taken on more loan players than I knew existed. We've sold lots of talented players, wasted lots of money on nonentities, but we've got a nice new ground if you don't mind iron oxide staining your coat and the pies are OK. Difficult times indeed!
  19. Yes No No NO! ...and any prospect of improvement looks like forlorn hope.
  20. I think that's true, too. The only positive I can draw is that Lord Luvaduck might keep us on the rails financially, even in League 1, and slowly, very slowly, we return to times like we enjoyed in the early years of His Lordship's reign. But I'm not holding my breath and I'm not sure I'll live long enough...
  21. LOL:smt048
  22. Depends how what you think of as failure. Now I don't know any of the the three gentlemen invoved, but... Mr. Lowe may have the financial nous to ensure the club avoids administration - I don't know, time will tell. He obviously has no understanding of football as a game or as a passion and he should keep his oar out at all times. He doesn't appear to consider playing in League 1 a failure. Mr. Crouch seems to be a genuine fan and a good business man in his own area of expertise but hardly did a great job of running the club before. Mr. Wilde? I can't think of anything positive to say!
  23. We can't score, we concede goals for fun, PNE are fourth, oh, and it's a home game! 2 - 0 to the Saints then!
  24. My brother was mates with his cousin who was a good bloke! Dennis Wise - now there's someone to focus one's displeasure with the World in general! How I laughed when he was given a job at Newcastle. Didn't you just know it would end in tears.
  25. What really annoys me is Sundays "The Verdict." A verdict implies making a judgement on the performance of the team. That hasn't happened, it's always been just a match report bigging up the plusses from the game, you can imagine the copywriter going "Yes boss, OK boss, I got all that..." At least this week I think I detected marginally less ar*e licking. Are Rupert's troops finally beginning to see the flaws in his plan? Oh, how I hope so. Surely even those in his inner sanctum can see that we are a car crash about to happen!
