Another 450 birds were found strewn along a highway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after apparently hitting overhead power lines. In both cases, the birds are believed to have become confused and were flying at a lower height than usual. So no one at the Mail knows the first thing about electricity

First person to die in a cycling accident in London this year according to TFL. Only took a week, sounds like they think thats good:scared:

Been out with Starbuck again?

This is also true. AS bad as some nippers are on the roas, I've yet to hear of one get confused and drive the wrong way own a motorway/dual carriageway. Personally I think they should bring in bi-annual testing for over 60's, rising to yearly for over 70's.

So what about injuries/death caused to the third party? Worth a bit more than 22k now? Not saying its right to charge what they do, but the insurance companies basically have us over a barrel. However as much as you want to argue it 17-21 year olds are in the highest risk bracket for a reason. And in my experience most (not all) of them do drive like complete ****s until they have a nasty 'learning experience' (and oftne continue to do so), and unfortunately that usually means problems for an innocent third party. Its high time the government looked at restricting young drivers to very low powered vehicles, and also introducing more stringent tests. How can it right that you can pass your test without ever having driven on a motorway, and then half an hour later go and drive round the M25?

Freudian slip?

I liked this one. I think a stay-away is the only way. If Chanrai thinks he can get by with half a squad - lets see how he likes half a stadium. Deplete the squad, deplete the gate. That's the message. Usual attendance then?

Heve you cleared your browsing history? If not can you find the web page that says the flight was cancelled? If so voila.

And theres also a very good chance it will die pretty much instantly, especially with a trained marksman using the correct type of round. Nature intended things to be ripped apart, slowly, terrified and in absolute agony? I bow to your superior knowledge then.
-
So your happy to dispatch an animal that probably can't feel pain instantly, but you prefer an animal that can clearly feel fear and pain to be ripped to bits, rather than shot humanely and quickly. You couldn't make it up...

Well sidestepped. Now answer my question, which would you choose if it was you on the recieving end?
-
I'm liking that. Can someone suggest it to Nic at the next dinner party?

I've gone for Lambert, not wholly because of his performance, but also factoring in his improvement or recent games. Looked like the Real Ricky Lambert again thank God.

Hypothetical question for Dune. Lets say you have been convicted, rightly or wrongly of a heinous crime and sentenced to death. The judge gives you a choice, you can be shot by a trained marksman, or you Can run round a field for a bit chased by angry hungry dogs, who will wait till you tire, catch you, then rip you to pieces. I assume you would choose the latter, more humane, option?

Mucked up my accumulator and cost me £50 today. Cheating c unts.

No. Winter would be even more depressing with no footy to look forward to. Also on a selfish note I follow summer sports, speedway and cycling, so footy in the winter gives me something to follow all year round.

Say what you want about the Hef, we'd all like to be him really...

Andy D'Urso, all you need to know. THe bloke is a total muppet and shouldn't be allowed within a 10 mile radius of any football grounds. And yes, its about time these whingeing ****s manned up, people are throwing good money after bad travelling to games for no reason. It never used to be like this, games went ahead unless the pitch was a sheet of ice or under 6 foot of snow, and the players and officials didn't get paid nearly as much as they do now.

Comes down to licensing authorities, each one chooses their own tarriff. Also if a particular firm is private hire only they can charge whatever rate they choose, take West Quay for example, they don't have a night time rate, but their day rate is more than the normal Southampton tariff. THe driver gets it, as with all fares. AS I understand it, a Hackney carriage (red plate) cannot pick up off the streets outside its licensing boundary, therefore they are entitled to charge a bit more for going outside the boundary as they then have to drive back to the boundary before they can pick up another fare. A Private Hire can be booked to pick up from anywhere, therefore a boundary fare cannot be charged. Not saying I agree with it, its an archaic rule going back to the days before their was a limit on red plates and ph's didn't really exist, most of the red plate drivers I know don't bother charging it anyway as its just not worth the hassle, and it puts people off. As has been pointed out just phone up for a cab, you won't get charged a boundary, and if the driver tries it on. take the number off the inside of his/her windscreen, and their badge (which MUST be displayed) and report them.

Cheaper than Eastleigh and New Forest. SCC plated cars are all under 7 years old, one MOT and one compliance test (like an MOT only a lot stricter) a year. Most vehicles now fitted with CCTV for passenger and driver safety. Compare it with other local councils where any old shed will do and their tariffs are higher, and Southampton cabs start to look a lot more attractive.

Think you'll be on your own then! I'll take it any way it comes, and if it means finishing 6th, and going up through the play offs, then so be it. Or even finishing 7th, but then getting into the playoffs due to the top 3 going up automatically because of a club in the championship going out of business. Don't know who, but it could happen...
-
If its a pre booked ride then its illegal to charge a boundary, and if you hail a cab you only have to pay the extra 25% on the portion of the journey that is outside the boundary. And like Essruu says, don't accept the 'set fare' bollix. You can agree a (fair) price with a PH driver if you want, although they are pretty much all fitted with meters anyway.
