  1. Why, are they in training for a Saturday night out? I think they might need stamina work so they can extend the drinking time beyond a quick one.
  2. So you are on a promise, then?
  3. Interesting point of view, you having already posted:- ..so tell us, what do you know?
  4. A rhetorical question I take it. I don't know what he is being paid but it is probably earning him a few multiples of the average wage of a football fan. Great while you can get away with it. He's been doing it for 6 years, so he clearly has little pride or conscience. I suspect this will be his last professional football resting place, Dad's final helping hand.
  5. You can argue till the cows come home about these % improvement statements. They mean jack sh*t if they aren't translated into real improvement. The real proof of SCW's pudding IS that he saw no problem with appointing Clifford. Vectis thinks that was his only problem. That's like the Titanic's designer saying the 'only' problem with his ship was that it had no watertight bulkheads. He believed his own hype about his ship. It sank. The whole SCW experiment was a disaster for us. Now if I could secure an 11% improvement in one player, I'd start with a goalkeeper. An 8 goal improvement in goal difference from one player would be great. It just shows how pontificating with arbitrary %s is just so much hot air, something puffed-up Woodward has a lot of.
  6. Please not WGS - he has (and did with us) signed some poor players, and was running out of ideas with us. I don't think the new owner sound as if he is going to throw money around, so I think KK is unlikely, given his spending record. I doubt we are going to behave like the Man City of League 1, so I reckon it will be a "solid" candidate - flamboyance isn't exactly a Swiss characteristic is it?
  7. I think we should commission the sculpter of the first Ted Bates statue to do one of Fry. Perhaps Fialka (or should it be Fiasco?) would like to make a sizeable contribution.
  8. He's been here just a year and gets a year's termination of contract compensation. I wish the same applied in my job!
  9. Though there are “still a couple of issues outstanding”, Fry exclusively told the Daily Echo “they were nothing major,”... I hope he got £500k from the Echo for the exclusivity.
  10. And are you still listening and giving credence to anything a boy still living at home with his mum and dad in a semi in Barnet has to say? So what do we have? Lynham (no real funds) fronts shy and retiring ("no publicity please") Fialka (no real funds) who fronts the real (jewish?) incognito money. Like, why all the secrecy when directors have to be approved by the FL anyway? And how is anyone of them giving proof of funds?
  11. If push came to shove wouldn't it be best for Aviva to buy the club, run it as cheaply as possible in L1 just to stabilize it, and then flog it later when it's all not so much of a rush? The stadium is no good to anyone else, and as for letting players go that would cost millions to replace, I'm sure you could pick up players good enough for L1 on frees, and in the current climate they wouldn't need to be on big wages either. The running costs might even be kept close to what Aviva might otherwise lose in income on the loan, and they at least have a fighting chance to flog the whole lot, or bits, later in a better ecomomic climate. What do they have to lose?
  12. "Southampton deal still on", insists Fialka from his mum's garden shed, taking a break from playing League3 Manager on his Playstation, balanced on a box of her shop's stock of 36B brassieres. How can anyone pay any heed to anything this mong has to say. What I still do not get at all is that Fry said he was sure Pinnacle had the funds, when it really doesn't seem as if he knew anything about the so-called backers at all, so could not have made his statement armed with any real knowledge whatsoever. Next time you want a brewery in which to hold a p*ss up, you know who not to ask to find you one.
  13. Maybe...? These clowns clearly had no funding. What the hell has this professional administrator actually been up to all this time? He said he was satisfied they had the funds. Sorry, I just don't believe it. Lynham took offence at the label "tyre-kickers". I should think his toes are black and blue by now. He is the very definition of time waster. If anyone does buy this club, Fry should give them a big discount off the Administrator's fees.
  14. What kind of wind up have you in mind?
  15. Seems to me that your question is looking increasingly hypothetical.
  16. I think you are missing the point being made by those who think he's got off lightly. It isn't that he should be punished more severely because he is a "celebrity", but it is just another example of too lenient punishment for what is a serious offence - getting p*ssed up and causing an accident, and leaving the scene, and... Anyone doing all that should be more heavily punished than a ban and £46 quid costs.
  17. You are so wrong. The very idea that crashing a car could be wreckless!!
  18. Ron Davies running to the touchline at the Dell to kick Chelsea's Ron Harris full on the shin, in the days before subs, dispelling any notion that he was only good with his head. I enjoyed every minute of obvious pain Harris spent hobbling as a passenger on the left wing.
  19. The sailing world's look-alike contest gets off to a cracking start, L-R: Lawrie Sanchez, Kevin Keegan, Mickey Adams, Claus Lundekvam and Sammy Lee all try to look like sailors.
  20. About as much sign of good gardening as we saw good coaching..
  21. ...We've been within a fag paper's thickness of going out of existence and you want a manger with his spending record? Not for me, I'm afraid.
  22. What's the score with a bloke who says he won't play in L1? Isn't that tantamount to resigning? Just tear up his contract and tell him to "go away". Apart from a few goal hanger's goals here, what has he actually done anywhere else? He's a plank and we should just want to see the back of him as soon as possible.
  23. A boxing promoter pontificating about cheating - just about takes the biscuit.
  24. I agree. Strachan did ok with Celtic, thought many of their fans hated the football -even Scott McDonald can score up there. Even Souness managed to win titles in Scotland, so that says a lot about the quality of that league. A new start requires a new management team IMO, and few managers succeed on a return to an old club.
