Agree with you both, but after seeing Maguire's fee quoted at £18m for a player with a year left, I fear Gibson would be even more.

Pellegrino seems like the most "Saints" choice. Don't know much about him yet. His name is a good mash-up of Poch / Pelle / & my former 1st choice before Claude of Manuel Pellegrini.

TUCHEL OUT OF SAINTS RACE Borussia Dortmund’s highly-rated former manager, Thomas Tuchel, has ruled himself out of the vacant manager’s job at Southampton. The 43-year old was the bookies’ early favourite to take over at St Mary’s, following last night’s sacking of Claude Puel. Sky Sports News HQ understands that Teuchel has not ruled out a move to the Premier League, but the role at Southampton does not appeal to him.
