Great business by Spurs. What a team they will have. LOL @ anyone thinking selling Bale was a negative at that price.
Think Spurs just need a top class centre-back to be genuine contenders.
That's a new one...
Cameroon international Gaeten Bong has confirmed that he has agreed a move to Greek giants Olympiakos from Valenciennes. Sunderland and Southampton were said to be keen on the 25-year-old defender.
The funniest thing about this deal is I can remember that there wasn't even an Osvaldo thread on here for ages...
Not sure anyone thought it could happen.
I'm convinced Arsenal think they live in an alternate universe where they finished 19th last year.
They released a load of high earners and not spent a penny.
Wouldn't want anyone else in charge.
Love the fact he backs up everything he says, yet still wants to do things the correct way with academy players etc.
Managerial decisions have ultimately been spot on.
Long may he continue.
Anyone else see David Gold talking about us on the SSN Transfer Centre?
- Said us signing Osvaldo puts pressure on teams like them because we are near rivals.
- Said he would find it hard to believe we aren't (like them) at the maximum of our wage cap for financial fair play.
- Said the only way they'd be able to sign more players would be to sell existing players.
I never fully understood how it worked. Is it strictly wages? Or do transfer fee's come into it?
Very much. We're moving for players who the big guns look at, but don't think at good enough for them just yet.
(Which means they are very much going to be good enough for us).
Little bit like what Spurs did back in the day with Carrick etc.
