Agree. I can remember we started that season the with squad down to it's bare bones. What I liked about Pardew's recruitment was getting us experienced, physical players, most of whom had been, or were captains of their respective teams. Harding, Murty, Lambert, Hammond, Jaidi & Fonte. Good times.
