I'm not sure being captain of Southampton is going to stop VVD signing for Chelsea it certainly didn't make Lallana think twice.

TBF I'm sure Puel does ( desperately) want to keep him but he really doesn't get a say in it. The decision will be made between the player and people higher up in the club than Claude.

Seems like a pretty brave thing for him to say unless he is confident that is the case....not that any of us will believe it after the last few summers.

The performance got the point why are people trying to separate them? We played a good away ( especially in context if playing a top 4 side) performance that had we been better at counter attacking, got a goal, and won one nil it would have been pretty much the perfect away performance. No one wants to see us play like that at home but away to a top 6 side yesterday was the right way to go about things.

Long should have started yesterday if the whole game plan was to hit pool on the break at speed. At home though I want Gabbi.

Liverpool or spurs?

Sadly we have a few to many players who are either not very fast (especially in midfield) or want a couple of touches to many which is making our counter attacking far to ponderous to make it truly effective.

He was interviewed on Solent yesterday and he said he is coming back to saints and hopes to get in around the first team but would see what the future holds. I'd like to see him get a chance here to see if he can have some impact on the first team like McQueen and Stephens have done this season.

Koeman was always about defending Good organisation at the back and two holding in front was his staple he was more than happy to sit deep and soak it up.

I caught a bit of talk****e's press pass last night and they were complimentary about saints and Puel to.

yeah but those three pundits are all ex Liverpool so err...

I heard today that Everton haven't won a game away from home since January.

People are really complaining about getting a point away at Liverpool...

The whole team needs to do that we are very light weight these days. Need to bulk up the team over the summer

Yeah I think I would have started with them and gone with Boufal and Gabbi late when the game opened up a bit.. but I could be being a bit harsh because it was a good away performance just lacking in a really dangerous counter attack from us.

Boufal, JWP and Tadic all have an annoying way of slowing the counter attack imo rather than moving the ball quickly. I would have gone with Redmond and Long if the plan was to counter on the break.

Decent away performance not many teams play Liverpool four times in a season and not concede a single goal. Of course the other side of away performance is the counter attacking. That side of the game needs work clearly. Considering the game plan I would have started Redmond and likely Long to give us more pace on the counter but decent point. If Forster played like that every week it would be a different season.

Well at least Silva is really inspiring in his interview on MOTD we wouldn't want a manger who sounds foreign with poor monotone English like Puel...

Maybe those two bits will be linked....

Every player in our squad "wants out" if they are offered something better elsewhere. Why wouldn't he want out if, as reported, Man city want him?
