  1. Poch is off to Lyon when did that happen?
  2. I thought the general view of the forum was that we only played boring, turgid football these days nothing like the1970s Brazilian football we played under Ronald....
  3. Martina isn't that bad he is athletic gets up and down the line well. His decision making is a bit suspect at times but as a back up or first choice in a newly promoted PL side he can do a job. Plus that goal will go down in saints folklore.
  4. Really? I'd take oxo, Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sánchez and Mesut Özil at the very least.
  5. Yeah 8th is the best we can hope for and we need to beat some top 6 teams to do that as well. If we manage 8th while coping with Europa and getting to a cup final you'd have call that a successful season I'd say.
  6. This season really hasn't been as bad as some have tried to make out although it is kind of drifting towards the end rather than ending with a bang. I enjoyed the European games (probably because I only did the home games to fair) and any season where you beat Liverpool home and away over a two legged semi has got to be a half decent season. If nothing else we will all have this to remember about this season

    Caceres

Exactly if there had been no injury to VVD Cacares wouldn't even be here. We looked at two other CB loans in Jan after VVDs injury and neither played out so he was seemingly the best free agent available as cover. As he seems to be seen as a temporary option by the club I would rather we gave Stephens the experience of playing regular PL football. Also I wonder how many people calling for Cacares to play, because he is "better than our other CBs", have even seen him play on a regular basis?
  8. I do think a lot of the misplaced passes and lack of concentration were down to rarely getting a prolonged period of games playing every week has sharpened him up which in turn leafs to less mistakes.
  9. How is getting rid of any of those players a bad thing? shouldn't be to difficult to upgrade any of them (we'd probably struggle to find teams who even want them) I'm not even fussed about losing Forster who (WBA aside) has been mostly gash all season. VVD and Betrand would be a loss for any team but we've survived good players leaving before and the rest wouldn't bother me in the slightest if they left.
  10. I see Leicester are back to playing like last season 18% possession and winning...
  11. Glad we played them when we did they are like a different team now (sadly) still hoping someone stamps on Vardy the ****
  12. As well strengthening our holding midfield position we've done well recently but Romeu is still the only quality holding midfielder we have. Plus we need to sort out our forward line. So big big summer for Les Talking of forward line what would people think of bringing Josh king from Bournemouth looks pretty handy I reckon. Gabbi, King, Long and Sam Gallagher would be pretty decent forward options.
  13. Along with every player with two legs (and maybe even a couple with only one leg) as they go for their usual scatter gun transfer policy all played out on social media for peoples entertainment.
  14. The trick is having another player like him to a) bring in when Tadic has his inevitable mid season tail off b) (hopefully) keep him performing because he knows he isn't irreplaceable.
  15. Maybe replace him with Josh King from Bournemouth who is turning into a very decent PL striker.
  16. He was involved in the build up to the goal today in a way I can't imagine Jrod doing.
  17. Nice to see Billy Sharp get promoted in red and white stripes again (although he was wearing the away kit today) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39463234
  18. Yeah I think if he had started he would have looked better while we were on top. At the point in the game he came on WBA had finally decided to press and get in our faces and I don't think Sims could cope. I guess Puel was hoping to use his speed to counter on them as they pressed us higher up but that never really happened and TBF the subs bench wasn't exactly brimming with options.
  19. Game time. A lot of Yoshida's brain farts came, imo, from being thrown into games when he wasn't quite up to speed through lack of games. Playing regularly has really sharpened him up.
  20. Sims struggled I like him but the physicality of WBA was a bit to much for him.
  21. Game of two halves we were brilliant in the first half and resilient in the second. Forster had his best game of the season. Stephens and Yoshida aren't looking half bad in defence with a few games under their belts. Good result away from home, with so many injuries against a team having a really good season of their own.
  22. Pulis time..
  23. Certainly happy to blood the kids these days is that 4 lads who started the season in the under 23s on the pitch now?
  24. backs to the wall stuff know need a Sims/Long goal combo on the break..
