  1. I don't think even getting in the top 4 will change anything unless we did it on a regular basis and improved the clubs ability to make money so we could compete in FFP stakes. These days contracts aren't even about getting a player to stay but more about being able to command a better transfer fee when they go.
  2. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a repeat of last summer with players leaving. As long as we keep pushing in and around the top 7 or 8 while signing and developing good players our players will keep catching the eye of the big boys. If we want our players to stay we need sign dross like Stoke and Sunderland and finish lower mid table then no one will be interested.
  3. A couple things I've picked up watch him is that JWP is an excellent passer of the ball, seriously I've seen him drop balls practically onto the foot of him team mates, and he has an eye to spot a good pass. On the down side he seems horribly weak in the tackle and gets pushed off the ball very easily. I do like the lad but right now I'm not sure I would have him in the team over any of the four senior pros we have in the central midfield positions.
  4. Russell Brown doesn't sound very Croat sounds more like a crap British stand up comic..............
  5. Can't we just use this certainly not religious or Monarchist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOe9PJrbo0s
  6. Good thing you cleared that up I thought someone was advocating playing Les in midfield for a moment............
  7. Sat Nav.............
  8. Even the big six aren't immune to players leaving for something better (IE Barca and Real) I think only Chelsea and Man city can discount being a stepping stone club in England.
  9. First I've heard of it...what injury?
  10. Thank god that's over and we can get back to club football I'm missing saints playing. Try as I might I find it really hard to get excited about England these days. Lasts nights game was the most interesting game I've watched England play in since the last game between England and Scotland. Why we don't have some sort of Home nations football tournament is a mystery to me. Games between the home nations are far more interesting than qualifying games against some eastern European nation.
  11. That will be him off to a "big club" next summer then
  12. Wouldn't Classie be a replacement for Morgan or Victor both of who will most likely be off in the summer. Cork has proved he is an accomplished PL midfielder who we could tie down and keep for next season when several of our midfield do a runner to the big clubs next summer
  13. What you think Shane Long could play the same role as Pelle? becuase I don't think Shane is really a CF in the Pelle style. If Jrod doesn't get fit in time and Mane (and Mayuka?) goes off to Afcon we have Long and Pelle left as possible strikers if one of them get injured we are in trouble IMO
  14. I still think we need another option (or two) up front. We will suffer if Pelle ends up injured. None of or other options up front are really equivalent to Pelle and his centre forward play. Plus Mayuka isn't up to much and unlike some I'm not convinced Jrod is just going to walk back into the team and just pick up were he left off before his injury. With Mane going to Afcon and with what ever is going on with Sam Gallagher we could look very light up front after Christmas.
  15. Interesting that the BBC gave Nathaniel a decent thumbs up in their after match ratings while in the Sun today they were, I thought, quite critical of him in their write up (no quality going forward, not really tested defensively and looked nervous apparently). Guess opinions are like arseholes etc etc Having said that according to my arsehole he had a decent game but like others I thought he was overlooked by his team mates a lot when he was in good positions to receive the ball.
  16. Yeah but the applies to selling as well no doubt j-rod will be sold over the odds to.
  17. You two do know that we can buy players as well as sell them in January right? J-rod might not even be match fit after Christmas, nor come back the same player he was, so relaying on him to cover Afcon might not be the best idea. If we could sell him and bring in a decent match fit striker to slot straight in I'd have no problem with that at all.
  18. Redmond seems to do very well for the England under 21s two assists in Their win over Portugal the other day (2 goals for Ings to) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30045537
  19. On Lovern's current form this guy would be better
  20. Seems like Tadic is a big upgrade..........guess he will be off to Liverpool next season .........while Adam heads off to Villa or Stoke Southampton's new goal hero is also benefitting from better service and that is important to note. While Adam Lallana did a terrific job on the south coast, his replacement Dusan Tadic has already supplied more successful crosses to his striker than the England international managed throughout the duration of 2013/14. He has also laid on the same number of chances for his striker, remarkably in 28 fewer matches.
  21. Ireland playing long ball to Long and Walters. Ronald would be sad and Long is fouled ........ please don't injury him Scotland
  22. Due to the way the team are seeded, if we ever made it into the CL, I imagine our group would be pretty tough we'd be the equivalent PFC Ludogorets Razgrad......
  23. Spurs infra structure is pretty under staffed by some accounts. So if this is true I guess this is the start of an attempt by Levy to re-build the infra structure so I wouldn't be at all surprised if he just tried nicking all our talent clearly he is a massive fan of what saints have achieved. http://talksport.com/football/exclusive-tottenhams-scouting-network-joke-around-world-claims-comolli-141110123688 “From the outside, what I can tell you is that among the top 20 clubs in the world, in terms of wealth, Spurs are the only ones who haven’t got a scouting network. “They are clearly understaffed in this aspect. It has become a kind of joke in the scouting community. They say, ‘have you seen a Spurs scout?’ You don’t see them. I don’t think they’ve got any. “[When I was at Tottenham] we had 12 full-time scouts. We had a great scouting staff. The scout we had in Italy at the time is now the sporting director at Sampdoria after being sporting director at Monaco. The one we had in Spain is now head of recruitment for a big club in Spain. The one we had in Argentina is now head of recruitment for a club in Italy, so we had a strong scouting network which allowed us to sign all those players. Now it doesn’t seem to be the case." And their problems don't end there, according to Comolli: “They have this fantastic [training] facility that Daniel Levy and I fought very hard to build but they need some brain power in there. “If you look at the top clubs in the Premier League, all of them have got five fitness coaches and five physiotherapists just for the first-team but I don’t think Spurs have got anywhere near that at the moment. “There is a lot to be done to address this situation.”
