  1. BBC team of the week has Rickie and Clyne in it http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19696192
  2. A view from the bbc comments section http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19615244 Lets be honest Villa were bad today but wont go down - they played Swansea N Newcastle off the park in their last 2 games and will beat West Brom ..... Southampton are a poor side along with Norwich Reading and Wigan its gonna be 50/50 who go down!!! Having witnessed their "ability" in the SPL, any team relying on Jos Hooiveld and Danny Fox as first-choice defenders is going to struggle! I'd be surprised if they keep a clean sheet all season if that pair are the best they've got. Both were murder for Celtic and were quickly shipped out.
  3. Double agreed.....
  4. Really? the ones I meet the train home that day told me they were amazed at how good we were and we would do really in the champ that season.
  5. Second half Villa's man mountain (number 20) got two free headers from corners once no one picked him up and once we Adam trying to mark his knee cap didn't make any sense to me at all.
  6. The good thing about Clyne is when he does make a cock up his speed allows him to recover the situation at times with a good tackle obviosuly it would be better if he didn't make the mistake in the first place but being quick enough to get back and make a recovery tackle is a usefu skill to havel.
  7. Espeically when you compare him to 24 million pound Darren Bent playing at the other end of the pitch yesterday:lol:
  8. took me a moment to figure that one out...I was trying to workout what Nicola Cortese had done in the second half
  9. Only buy weakening the RB postion though...time for NC to invest in cloning technology so we can have Clyne at LB and RB:)
  10. It is a lot of money for a couple of hours entertaiment even more so with travel costs (and the obligtory half time drink:)) as a one off event that's not to bad but being football you might have to shell out 2-3 times a month (if you want to go to lots of matches)
  11. Well it looked pretty full from were I was sat. TBH I prefer it a bit emptier more room to spread out also if we don't fill SMS maybe the club will lower the prices to get more people in:lol:
  12. If you had to guess? I see he is already up among the PL top scorers:) 4 S. Fletcher (Sunderland) 4 R. Lambert (Southampton) 4 M. Michu (Swansea) 4 R. van Persie (Man Utd) 3 D. Ba (Newcastle) Long way to go but I could see him getting around 20 if he carries on the way he is going which would be very impressive at this level.
  13. Nice tackle on the Ref there:lol:
  14. Thought that was Ryan Dickson...
  15. My daughter (6) is a seasoned footie goer now (brought up on league 1 and the championship) she watched Gaston for five miniutes turned to me and went "daddy our new player is really good" couldn't argue with her.
  16. You're not alone most fans of other clubs just think he is a big "English" centre Forward it's only saints (Brizzle Rovers maybe) fans that realize just how much more he is than a big lump upfront....
  17. It appears Leicester Fans are very taken with our Nigel:p http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/83737-southampton-looking-at-rafa/
  18. Wingback?
  19. I thought he went down at the end very well just enough to make look good but not so over the top the ref thought he was faking it........ In all honesty I thought he looked bright for the short time he was on wheather he has enough about him to replace Puncheon at the moment I'm not sure .I'm going to watch the cup match on tuesday wouldn't be surprised to see Mayuka start for that one would be good to see him get a full run out.
  20. He did today won a great header in the second half I thought he springs in his boots. TBF Adam has never been very good at deadball situations.
  21. Best song of the day "There is only one Nigel Adkins......... one Nigel Adkins" if there was any doubt were most saints fans stand on Nigel it was loud and clear today
  22. It's not so much Clyne can't do it, he pretty much proved he can today, ....it's more that RB then has to be Richardson or Butterfield, two players I like, but feel might struggle against PL oppostion most weeks
  23. yes they are...they are also championship quaility and it would seem PL quaility to
  24. Said last season Fox was a liability the whole defence looked far more composed when he went off today. Problem is we don't have much in the way of options at LB. All though I thought Richardson did well at RB to allow Clyne to go LB I'm not sure that would work week in and week out in the PL.
  25. Thought he was bloody fantastic myself won loads in the air, calm and collected even under pressure, good passer, pretty quick basically an all round good defender. Quite frankly he made Jos look like an accident prone hoof donkey (and I say that as a fan of Jos)
