I think you may be right........
-
Slighty different when there is a trophy to be lifted....
-
I thought we got him on a free? To be honest it's pretty obvious that Nigel doesn't share your views on Lee you only have to listen to his interviews to know he rates him. Did you see Nigel celebrate Lee's goal against Derby? I don't think I've every seen Nigel that excited before. I think he is very much in NA's plans but it takes time to settle at a new club in a new country hence why he hasn't been thrown straight in as a starter.
-
Exactly. As Poyet pointed out last season playing at D&R will be like a home away from home for young Reeves............
-
In fairness none of those achievments stop him being a knob. Lots of people who achieve things could be classed as Knobs.....
-
Last season, if this place was anything to go by, most of our squad wasn't considered good enough for the championship......until we get there and he is given a decent shot at it we will never know. NA seems to get the best out of players so will see what happens. I can't say that I reckon the likes of Maynard, Baldock or Cole are much better though.

Good wins are always like that. It's like people figure the game is well won so they can afford to slope off home early and beat the traffic. If it's an edgy 1-0 they stay to see it out but 4-0 up is like a "lets go home early" signal. I wanted to stay and show my apprecation but then I don't drive and had a hour until my train.....
-
I can't believe how often clubs sack managers on the spur of the moment with out having someone lined up to take their place.......
-
I usual take a bottle of coke/water to the game plus a bag of boiled sweets for me and the kids if I'm real pushing the boat out I'll buy a coffee before the game starts. Quite frankly I can't be bothered with the mass free for all crush at half time to pay for extra expensive snacks I'd rather watch the game. On the other hand what other people want to do on matchday is up to them.

I'm sure Turkish will be along in a miniute to give his views.......

McDermott signs a new contract with Reading looks like he didn't think wolves was a step up after all http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17129774

Pretty much spot on. Much as we all hate to see our young talent f uck off to bigger clubs it's a fact of footballing life and I've no doubt we've done it and will do it to other clubs down the food chain. Though he probably didn't pick the best time to move to the gunners considering the way things are going there I'm sure his big fat pay packet will comfort him. On the other hand I always got the feeling that Marks motives for getting Alex a big money move might not have been wholly about what was best for his son... but what was best for dad....who is also his agent isn't he?

Coventry need point to stay up and relegate Skates

Bit wierd that day. Not often you go to a football match were both sets of supporters are going nuts with happiness at the end..... -
Looks like McDermott is staying at Reading and wolves are trying again to get in Curbishley http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17112269

I think maybe he should pay trousers some commission then......
-
That ship has sailed. I liked him a lot and he was exciting to watch scored some good goals (brizzle rovers in the cup was an outstanding goal). He was raw but improved with regular football I think if he had stayed at the time we could have improved him into a decent player. He certainaly had pace to burn something many posters on here have said we lacked. Wouldn't get any where near the first team now but as part of our cup winning team I hope he goes onto have a good career somewhere.
-
I reckon we may have a winner...NA in the shortlist
-
I reckon big Sam has sold his soul to Satan in exchange for sacrificing a player every match he gets a result....... I take comfort from the fact that Brum and WHU (both ex PL) are being touted as the best in the league yet niether have beaten us and we've more than matched them in the games we've played. They're both good teams but so are we.
-
Murty joining the back room staff?
-
Well I'm pretty sure two of those things aren't really high on any managers agenda when thinking about a new club. Yes Wolves are in the PL but I imagine he would weigh up which is more likely going up with Reading or staying up with Wolves. If he doesn't think he can keep wolves up why would he bother?
-
I could see him going to a job like that in the summer but right now I'd imagine he'd want to give it a shot at the PL with Reading. Wolves is hardly a massive step up from Reading.
-
Goes to show how great Lambert is 16 league goals and joint top assists (9)
-
Shame his career ended with such a damp squib. Without the injury he would have been a good player for our time in league 1 would have been nice for him to have retired helping us get promotion - shame it wasn't to be. Sure he'll end up coaching some where though.

I stand corrected Jos arrived Aug 31st Seaborne got beaten up Sep 1st so the two probably seemed linked at the time but couldn't have been in less Nigel can see in to the future. I agree with you though slow evolution is far better than a mass cull and lots of new faces....which is what I've been saying all along. Also Butterfield getting a new contract suggests that players aren't going to be discarded willy nilly as some might think. On the subject of Barnard I wonder if he had been fit and playing most of the season whether we would have seen Billy Sharp at all. Same with Jos and Jaidi there is no way knowing whether some of the signings were a delibrate attempet by NA to upgrade or a reaction to players he had faith in not being avaliable as planned.

If you look through the first half on the season (up until December) at most you will find three new players (Nottingham forest away for example Jos,fox, cork)) in the starting 11 more often only two. Up until September, when we won 6 out of 7 games there is often only one (Jack Cork) with De-Ridder as a sub. If Seabourne hadn't got ****ed up we most likely wouldn't have even seen Jos meaning two new starters Fox and Cork. Yes we've added in January but you have to wonder if we would have even done that if some of last seasons players didn't have long term injuries. Basically most of the starting 11 in the 1st half of the season (where we did so well) were players from last season plus 2. I'd like us to carry that on into next season if we get into the PL with possible one or two additions in the starting 11 summer rather than five or six. Judging by last summer I reckon I'm more likely to get what I want than those who want whole scale changes.........but who knows
