  1. Well if Hoopers not that bothered about it why would we want him?
  2. How about Rickie Lambert 800,000 plus add ons or Grant Holt for 400K at Norwich to put that fee into perspective?
  3. I'm not that bothered I'm sure he's a decent player but 7.5m decent? I'm not so sure. I want players who really want be here if a player isn't excited about wearing the red and white .....I don't want him.
  4. I can't imagine leaving Lambert out if he is avaliable. Having said that I think we were becoming a bit reliant on the cross from Frazer to Lambert heading in at the back post approach and teams were working us out a bit. Taking Lambert out of the team has forced us to try something a bit different leaving oppostion guessing a bit (which is good IMO) and shown the team that we can perform without him. We've had two games without him won them both (admittidely against two poor teams).....kind of shows we didn't need to buy six Lambert clones as back up IMO. That said in the end I'd want him in the team against better opposition.
  5. yes not exactly impressing the glovers fans (taken from their forum) For me, Gav Williams is past it. Not even a shadow of his former self. Dickson looked no better than what we've got, and Ehmer was so poor, and dare I say it a little chubby?? They were the 3 worst for me last night. The only loan players i think he will have thought to be worth keeping are Massey and Obika Dickson had a rather desperate debut, particularly in the first half, though perhaps my comment at the time that it was the worst YTFC debut since Marcus Jones was somewhat unfair. Dickson looked out of his depth to me. Seemed to drift in and out of position, seems pretty low and one footed. No better than what we've already got IMO, AND he cant do a stepover but we'll see how he fares against more realistic opposition. Like us, Southampton do not have a reserve side so yesterday was one of only three games Dickson has played all season. Hopefully he was just a bit rusty and will improve in a game or two and a couple more training sessions with the rest of the team. In fairness Ryan is probably very match rusty but this might go someway to explaining why Nigel doesn't rate him when he looks bad in a poor league 1 team.
  6. Right if there is one thing I've learned from this message board it's that no two people can agree on our support. Read a just back from the match thread and see two people who sat in the same stand give two very different versions of our amazing/s hit /sad/embarrassing/best ever support.................
  7. Got to be Iron maiden just love their stuff....
  8. Sadly though that's the reason for their massive support.........I've always felt that it's more than just supporting a football club up there it's a statement of someones religous/national leanings Celtic = biggest club in Ireland.......
  9. No doubt I'll get shot down but are Forest much better than Coventry (league table suggests not) considering how well the makeshift team in the cup did (once they started playing a more comfortable formation in the second half) I won't be to adverse to keeping Ward-prowse or Hoskins in the team considering injuries and suspensions. I think he did well but ideally I'd rather see Harding at LB not RB (unless we have no choice). Davis back in for Bart and keep the midfield as it was.
  10. Wouldn't we just stand him in the centre circle and just get him to hit balls from there? you couldn't ask him to run anywhere....
  11. Well funnily enough you can hear most of the same things said in the crowd at SMS (if you don't mind a bit of eves dropping) as you see posted on here. Waiting at the bus stop after the Bristol city game some old guy was proclaiming our season was over and we played the worst he'd seen all season. I speak to saints fans outside of this place that say lots of the same things as on here (both good and bad) who have no knowledge of this place at all. People are just more noticable here especially if they keep banging the same drum on the same subject (like ticket tax for example) you just can't ignore them the way you can the guy abusing Guly at SMS.
  12. I wasn't aware anyone said they would..... Also I was reading on the Coventry forum they couldn't even fill the subs bench but they seem to think they put out the strongest team they could given injuries and such. As for Martin he always looks part of the team at SMS maybe jos knicked his seat on the team bus....
  13. Listened to the match on solent first half - we sounded very poor Second half - we sounded pretty bloody good Sounds like the much maligned Dan Harding had a very good game playing out of postion. Great to hear Bart having a good game to. Nice to get a couple of new names on the score sheet for the first team. Seems like the change to 4-4-2 was the key though it would be nice to hear from those at the game as you can never tell if whispering Dave is just slating a personal dislike or being objective.
  14. No big loss IMO would have thought we would try to ship him out permently. What ever any one thinks about Harding, and clearly if this place is anything to go by most don't seem to like him, he is the only LB who has clicked with and brings out the best in Lallana. Dickson's passing has always been suspect and he was always to light weight in the challenge for me very easily knocked off the ball. There's a reason he failed to dislodge Harding from LB last season......
  15. Radio seemed to think it was a precuation. Apparently he pulled up and NA was going to take him off then after treatment he seemed OK so he played on and got subbed latter.
  16. Yes I'm sure I remember players in early season interviews saying how last season they were the favorites, every bodies cup final, had teams raising their games and parking the bus which all added up to pressure. Where as the season teams wouldn't be bothered about us, we weren't favorites there was no pressure and teams would play football and not try to stifle us with bus parking. They were right right up until the point we topped the table and stayed there for a while. You can feel the pressure build in the crowd at SMS now within miniutes of kick off that just wasn't there earlier in the season. Reckon the players and management are feeling it to now.
  17. You don't give the job of making a load of people jobless to someone you like ......
  18. I'm not sure anybody really knows much about anything that goes on behind the scences at SFC these days do they? What our status/relationship is with Markus's family and estate is anyones guess just like the question of how much money the club does/doesn't have.
  19. I assume we won't get a points deduction this time in light of pompey's lack of punishment...
  20. Yeah he wasn't chosen becuase he was carrying a knock. Fonte, Dickson and Morgan all went too even though they weren't in the team that day.
  21. Actually I think it's fair to say we have no idea what the club has these days.... maybe there is a spare 100 million just waiting for a CL push..........then again maybe not
  22. Yes apparently the home fans are planning to protest againt the owners and encouraging everyone to stay at home......should make for a cracking atmosphere .........LOL
  23. The highlights also seem to confirm my opionon (admitedly from listening to the radio) that until we went down to ten men there was only one team in it ......and it wasn't Brighton. We've got to put our chances away though. The last two matches we haven't scored when we were on top and it's bitten us on the arse.
  24. Actual I'd say it's the other way round we're still creating chances we're not putting them away, it's not so much the strikers (if you count Guly as a striker) but the midfielders who are at fault. Hammond, Morgan, Cork and now Adam are not scoring anything. Dean's scored 1 this season, Morgan has missed (it seems) dozens of chances this season, Cork yet to score Adam started of brightly but the goals have dried up. we need to get the midfield chipping in with some goals to take the pressure of the strike force. We're making chances but were not being as clinical in front of goal anymore. Someone who can bang in free kicks would be nice to.
