I'm not sure hiring a manager from a team whose defensive woes makes Hoedt and Stephens look world class in comparison is the best idea...

Saints to give £250,000 to Gift to Richard Scudamore
doddisalegend replied to Hatch's topic in The Saints
Do none of you have a whip around at work when someone is leaving? This is just one of those things you know. A quick collection between work colleges, to get him a bottle of plonk, and a card at main reception for any one who would like to sign it. There will be drinks after work, at the pub around the corner, on Richard's last day for anyone who wishes to say farewell. -
oh yeah I think the board will **** themselves silly over him He appointed Daniel Farke as head coach in May that year and has helped reconstruct a new squad, despite raising over £80m from sales of players including James Maddison, Alex Pritchard, Josh Murphy and Jonny Howson.

It's a bit of toss up between that and our totally inability to defend these days. Back under Koeman teams had to work really hard just to get a shot off, with our midfield shielding the defence, and when they did our defence was often more than a match for opposition attackers. Now our midfield offers all the protection of a wet paper towel while our defenders would struggle to keep out Warsash Wasps under 12s strike force. Thank god we now have McCarthy in goal and not that motionless lump that is Forster.

While we should have a fitness coach. I'm the only one thinking that highly paid professional sportsmen really should be looking after themselves. Its not like they are working 40 hour weeks cant they get themselves down the gym or go for a run without someone making them do it.
-
It shouldn't be that hard. A new DoF only needs to find a manger more competent than Hughes and a couple of signings that actually work out in Jan and we ate already in a better place than we are right now.
-
Wasn't that all down to Les though now he is gone isn't all supposed to be better?
-
Didn't he go to Everton who have pretty much the same set up. Most teams don't leave recruitment just down the manager at least not a PL level anymore. Always a good excuse for PL managers though "I didn't choose the players" almost as if the idea of coaching and managing are skills they don't need... straight out of the Harry Redknapp school of football management.
-
The battle of the ****est defences in the PL. I would say it will be a goalfest but our strikers will insure that doesn't happen. Should be good for some hilarious MoTD punditry on defending from Martin Keown...
-
A couple of weeks ago if this story had broken the blame would have been laid squarely at uncle Les's feet... but err he has gone now...seems like Les leaving isn't going to change much...
-
I thought Les was supposed to be the one blocking Yoshida from playing while preparing a dossier of hatchet jobs, to release in public, to turn saints fans against him...
-
Isn't that a description of our defence. It certainly resembles chaos when the opposition attack..

I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to be interviewed for a job by Ralph... Ralph " ahh Mr Moyes come in to this space I like to call a "room". Please sit down on that device I like to call "a chair". Moyes "errh thanks" Ralph " Let me introduce you to our owner Mr Goa. He doesn't actually speak English. Luckily I have a full roster of words at my disposal" Moyes "ok" Ralph "First I should let you know a few things about the club. We are a large micro club with a variable, neutral, cost based, gender fluid budget. Thanks to our academy we don't buy talent we make it! and then errmm... send it out on loan to league one in the hope someone will buy it. We are an ambitious club set on champions league glory but also mindful we are just behind Accrington Stanley in terms of resources....

hindsight is the only way to judge historical decisions

They were advertising them on the big screen during the match yesterday gave my one laugh at the game at least
-
sadly he clearly isn't
-
That's pretty much what everyone said about Hughes though because he couldn't be worse than MoPe we need to stop lurching from one bad appointment to the next and get the next appointment spot on.
-
So you trust Ralph to get it right?
-
basically desperate wishful thinking..
-
No doubt. Funny at the time people were calling him the worst saints manager ever...if only they'd known what was coming.
-
What you really think Ralph can juggle making two major appointments at the same time as re-structuring the football side of the club? more importantly do you really want Ralph choosing our next manager? What the last three seasons have shown is there is **** all point in replacing managers if we are going to keep replacing them with someone even worse. I want Hughes gone but also want them to get his replacement right I feel they have got a much better chance of doing that if they get a competent DoF in rather than leaving it to Goa and Ralph. We need to stop lurching from one bad managerial appointment to the next if that means a few more weeks of Hughes to get it right I'll take that.
-
Because the sacked the bloke who hires and fires managers with out a replacement lined up and are now using the "space" that created to restructure the footballing side of things....in other words they haven't got the expertise or time, to fire and hire a new manager while they try to work how to replace Les. Once the have a new DoF I'm sure Hughes will be toast but I reckon he is safe until then. Lets hope they don't take to long trying to replace Les.
-
yes back to the Hoj from last season giving the ball away left, right and centre. I think he has improved this season but today he was poor.
-
Just reminding myself of the squad back then....urgghhh though I would probably take a front pairing of Kevin Philips and peter crouch of 2004 over our current striker options... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004–05_Southampton_F.C._season

There was **** all improvement different day same old ****. We still can't defend for crap and we still cant finish our chances not that we created many today. Les leaving is going to make no difference short term it will only have an effect when we get to some transfer windows.
