Eric Black resigns due to an abject failure to coach players who obviously have issues that are not addressed. In addition team tactics have been very suspect during his whole term at the club. This situation has lead to Southampton FC happily accepting his resignation though we thank Eric for diligently taking the club backwards during his term of office. For this service he was well respected by the players who enjoyed the lack of success in the period and his wonderful company. Ok then - if you say so..... Now what is Pelligrino made of..... From the evidence so far, similar fluff....

Sorry but lots of people are missing the point here. We are not getting the most from the squad we have..... Whilst we continuously chop and change the team to the point of utter confusion pointlessly dropping players who play well and playing players out of position with zero coaching we will continue to go backwards... It’s the management and lack of coaching to the players that is hurting us and nothing deeper or more meaningful than that....

Simon - Longer contracts is not the problem.

The Redmond Tadic issue has not been sorted by a mediocre coach who does not see what is going on on the pitch in front of him.... No longer acceptable - a Tiro league coach would have seen those very simple issues by now but not MP.... Anyone could do better

Whilst we don’t a team of world beaters this guy will not improve with changes to the squad because he drops players who play well and keeps players in who are crap ! The guy is clearly clueless ....

As this manager seems to learn nothing as he goes along expect the same team! On the other hand-someone said he is a tactical genius against the big teams just for putting everyone behind the ball! Will be interesting to see what Black does for this game anyway....

Let’s get this totally straight.... It doesnt take a tactical genius to put 10 men behind the ball!!! It does take tactical eneptitude to play well for 10 mins and be crap for the remaining 80 90% If the time... We are very poor 90% of the time .... Anyway - anyone else - other that MP up for Tadic on the right and Redmond on the left next game???? Ummmm thought not!!!! Our Manager though cannot see this... So when do you say ‘sorry mate but you are now showing how poor you are at recognising how to get the most from your players’ ..... ? No wonder they have him by the throat - the guy just doesn’t get it at all...

Lord You have totally missed the point ... He plays players in positions they have proved over two seasons not to be able to play in. He drops players who play very well for no reason - we don’t need to rotate! He doesn’t know his best system or players.... He doesn’t adapt during games... HE has the lack of application and it’s ****ing the players off now and the fans... He is not up to the job ..

Yes as for Tadic on the right again ????? Wtf isbthst about??? The similarities with last season are uncanny to the point where Black definitely picks the team... The guy seems to bully his peers and get his own way.... The similarities are just to repetitive for Black not be pulling the strings .... They both have to go....

Baffling very baffling

The ‘over reaction’ is by the poor poor people who are so called ‘offended’ by others having an opinion on matters.. There is a subject at the beginning of every thread, stick to that and stop trolling individuals who have stuck to the subject... I think MP is off track. Some players he ‘rotates’ others don’t get rotated. We are not Europe or the League Cup so all players should be able to handle the number of games we have. He is another egotistic tinkerer who cannot learn by events .... it’s taken him months to realise Tadic cannot play on the right yet I am sure he will play him again soon ....For instance... He is a rabbit in headlights who luckily had some good players to keep him on a job...

They have money to burn.... and waste! There will be 50 busses more than needed at each station, no organisation and everyone will arrive at the ground at 4 o’clock in the morning!

How is your comment anything at all to do with MP out ? If you don’t agree then specifically state why unless you have nothing to say ... Well we dropped our ball retention players.. Errrrr and put Redmond out there which does take some brains... So who knows what the obsession with him is even when he is left out and we play well MP can’t wait, he is wetting his pants to get him back on the team sheet.... It’s so odd... Don’t manager also who made about Six changes every game regardless of how well the team played or individuals did. I hope MP doesn’t fall into the same trap. Under Black’s influence this might happen...

Well thank God you are not managing us then. Schneiderlin was past his best when he left us. Since then he has achieved the sum total of not much and has been even worse lately.... We don’t need to follow in West Ham’s example bu buying tired hadbeens that everyone else realised are past their best. Honestly nowhere near good enough now...
