How is selling for 6m good business? A top class premiership centre half with up to four years left in him in that position you would sell for just 6m? Just how much would it cost to replace him? Minimum 4 times that. Selling makes no business sense at all - so why do it? That's not taking into consideration we are in Europe next year and will need every ounce of very good players we can lay our hands on. There is not one good reason to sell - business or otherwise!

Osvaldo in the news for all the wrong reasons... again
captainchris replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I hope this meant with sarcastic humour and not actually serious!!!!! Not only is his behaviour terrible his football was well below the standard required at this club... The question of him and Rimirez still should be asked though..... As we seem to continually keep patting ourselves on the back over transfers what happened with those two? There are one or two others who are very iffy too btw.... I'm not sure our transfer policy is all that really .... Some good and some very expensive poor decisions .... -
He has been given far to many chances actually.... He struggles to get into a relegated team for a very good reason......
-
Pelle for Gods sake at least make an attempt to stay on side please ....
-
Or not as the case may be!
-
Well deserved a fantastic piece of skill....

A very good call

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 6-1 Aston Villa

Praise and criticism where they due is entirely justified... Today - excellent - last two months mostly poor.... -
Correction- where Pelle doesn't have the movement
-
L Very good points also.... Even as a Saints supporter I have grown tired of the rather arrogant and complacent rhetoric right across the management structure lately... We truly are not as good as we think we are and management need to take quite a long hard look at themselves. Our buys have been largely quite odd and mostly average players who we spent quite large sums of money on..... We have not addressed obvious tactical inadequacy particularly in the final third where Pelle has the movement required to trouble defenders and yet we have continued adnorsium with this failed tactic for months on end. I fully expect it to continue for the final two games too with the same end result. Koeman seems to lack the ability to work round challenges or perhaps more worryingly he can't see the issues...
-
Three things.... Poor team selections by Koeman Selection of Pelle despite his obvious limitations. Selling Jack Cork - idiotic. Plus, it would appear lack team preparation and motivation for about the last three months...
-
What!!! Pelle stays on!!!!!!!!!!!! Why, how on earth ?????
-
Please can we take Pelle OFF. He might as well be in the crowd for all the use he is!
-
That was pathetic.... Come on Koeman show us how good you are!!!!!!
-
Oh dear oh dear, a certain lack of tolerance to different views I fear.....
-
Pelle starts! We play with 'good organisation' and sod all 'penetration' ! Tottenham press high up the pitch not allowing us any space and easily picking off Pelle all game. They score a late goal and Koeman says we were the better team and played with good organisation.... Tadic plays and has little effect on the game.... Am I the only one getting bored with the Pelle predictability game strategy we continually adopt with the same results game after game.... We have become a very average mid table team which stumbles on a few good results mixed in with poor ones. We have a very decent defence and defensive midfield but are seriously lacking after that... Have to say our failings going forward are mostly because our attacks continuously go nowhere because Pelle lumbers around like a statue yet Koeman continues with the failed predictable strategy... We have the rest of the season to plan for next year - who is good enough and who isn't. Surely we know that Pelle will not take us to the next level so let's start living in the real world and prepare for how the team will be looking for next season - hopefully with mobile goal scorers up front. At present our attack resembles a Subbiteo team .....
-
Same here. More cultured than some are giving Dave credit for..... Part of a great team. Will always remember him...

Post-Match Reaction: Stoke City 2-1 SAINTS

Very true and the reason for playing 'in front' of the opposition? Pelle's lack of movement...... How on earth Koeman persists with him week in week out is mystifying ... -
We're you on Mars for the Chelsea game?
-
Naff ! Pelle again joke .....
-
Ditch Pelle - enough ! All the justification has been discussed at length already. Simply not good enough ....
-
Ahhhhh there lies the crux of the matter - ( I assume you are Ronald Koeman?) modern high quality football has moved since the big 'Target' man' hold up player . This is old hat and is no longer viable .... Good teams have much more mobile forwards who make runs, drop deep and are free and able to join in with creating..oh and scoring!
-
Well said Wade. Thousands can see it but Koaman can't which is worrying really ...
-
L Quote of the day and very true! Pelle really is woaful ..... Mr Back to Goal Pelle..... The coaches too should take some blame for not recognising how his lack of movement is strangling the team. Wake up Koeman can you not see for Gods sake?????
-
Sorry but completely wrong. Couldn't be more wrong if you tried I'm afraid. Here is the problem. Pelle is imobile! He relies on every one else to make the runs whilst he stands still with back to goal. Ok he sometimes lays the ball off but then again doesn't bust a gut to move defenders around or get into scoring positions. Mane up the middle with Long has looked better. This continuous Pelle ****fest with Koeman is holding us back..... Koeman is not learning the lessons...... Mr back to goal Pelle - time is up....
