  1. Very true and somewhat contrary to his popular image. Someone on this forum recommended "Football Hackers" by Christoph Biermann. It is a good read and makes you realise that there are many different forms of stats. I guess the skill comes in knowing how to use them.
  2. After we threashed Villa, 6 -1 at the end of 2014 / 2015 I stayed behind for the lap of appreciation. As I passed the players entrance on my way home , the Villa players were slinking onto their coach. They had just put up an abject performance and didn't want any adulation - all apart from Tumbledown Jack who was happily signing autographs and lapping up the attention. For some reason I saw red at the idiot being hero worshipped after his team had just lost 6-1 and shouted at him that he was a disgrace, should be ashamed at his performance and shouldn't be signing. I am a big bloke and suppose that I can seem intimidating. For a split second everyone stopped and Grealish looked as if he was about to burst into tears. He stopped signing and went onto the coach. He may be many, many times richer than me and can play football at a level light years away from my ability but I know that I have more of a backbone than him. 😀
  3. I think the bloke is a raving loony. I have heard that Pompey Poly's finest likes to stick pencils up his nose and say "wibble" whenever he is under pressure.
  4. That sounds awful. I can understand your anger.
  5. Neither do I but I am sure that as the gammon will soon be telling us , those "Brexit benefits" just dont stop coming. 😉
  6. That's good. Is there anything else in that column? Borriersaint as you like to call him (hilarious) did ask a few weeks ago for any Brexit benefits. I was surprised that you didn't mention the pound's strength against the zloty but perhaps your days of being as thick as pigshit are over.
  7. Better today but close in the end. Definitely worth coming out for.
  8. Exactly.
  9. Yet more absolute bollocks from Duckie. Wow. We lost against Wolves and nobody called for Ralph's head!! That really is something. The haters are going soft. The squad at Ralph's disposal this season bears little comparison with what he had last season. Look at the team and subs bench that played at Old Trafford and compare it with this season's squad. The French lad who came on at the end at Old Trafford apparently doesn't even play professional football any longer! The change in set up this season has more to do with squad depth and ability than any Damascene conversion of Ralph.
  10. Lol at the haters of the "Ralph cult" now coming out and saying that everything has changed. We know fully well that if one of the City chances that hit the woodwork had gone in and we had lost they would have started their grumbles. "2 consecutive defeats," "the pressure on Ralph when we play Tottenham, " "the new owners will be appointing their own man. " etc etc. Yesterday gave Ralph some breathing space but our next two matches are tough ones against Spurs and Man U. Lose those and I daresay the grumbles will start again.
  11. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. 🤮🤧🥵
  12. Gove and Sunak do come across as slimeballs but I don't know about them being sweaty.
  13. And those 2 events are on course to happen thanks to this current Tory rabble calling the leader of the Scottish Tories "lightweight" and their lies re Northern Ireland and Brexit.
  14. That isn't pony. Its a complete load of old bollocks. Johnson's government have done more to endanger the union with their attitude towards Scotland and their non resolution of the Northern Irish Brexit question than any other government in my memory. Johnson and this lot dont give a fig for the union.
  15. An interesting question. Are this lot true Conservatives? True Conservatives to me are the likes of Ken Clarke, Michael Heseltine and even John Major. They no longer have a home in this Conservative party - primarily because they believe in an open Europe. Remember it was Thatcher who was one of the leading forces behind the creation of the Single Market. This lot are more like an English Nationalist party rather than true Conservatives. The likes of Duckie would say that they are still pinkoes but to me they are not true Conservatives.
  16. Its all right. Crash bang wallop cricket starts tomorrow in Barbados. We are good at that
  17. Starmer is doing a good job at clearing out the stable but the stench of Corbyn and his followers still hangs over the Labour party. Corbyn may not be in the party atm but many voters will be wary of trusting Labour whilst the likes of Abbot, Mcdonnell and Long Bailey are still around. The Lib Dems could have a role to play in any progressive government which sorts out the current mess. Their coalition experience however is not good and they need to up their game to get noticed by the public.
  18. I can't make up my mind about this. This country needs better leadership than this rabble. We shouldn't have to suffer them any longer. On the other hand it would be good for the opposition if the clowns could linger on. This English Nationalist party which is masquerading as the Conservatives needs to be opposed. I wouldnt be at all surprised if Cummings has a blockbuster email // video up his sleeve. Expect it to be revealed just after the Sue Gray whitewash has reported.
  19. The bloke just can't stop lying. He doesn't "recognise" David Davis's comment "in the name of God, go." Hmmm. You would have thought a biographer of Churchill would have recognised the attack on Chamberlain which led to Churchill coming to power.
  20. Has anyone listened to Fighting Talk on 5 live each Saturday morning? The light hearted show finishes with "Defend the indefencible." Panellists have to defend a clearly stupid, ridiculous position on a topic. Very amusing. I reckon the usual gammon on here are practicing for being on the show. 😉
  21. You are very correct.... but she is not gunning for public opinion. The neanderthals who make up the Conservative party membership are the ones who vote for the Tory leader. They are her target. Remember they are the people who choose the likes of Baker, Swayne, Chope and Redwood etc to represent them. They will lap up the sight of a blonde bimbo sitting next to the Union Jack and asking for people to" move on". I dare say for example that our old mate Wes Tender is having wet dreams over her. Her main contender for the leadership, Rishi, isn't going out of his way to appeal to them. He annoys them by raising taxes and trying to be responsible for the nation's finances. I dare say some of them don't like the colour of his skin. Truss is playing a clever game. God help us if she succeeds.
  22. Rumour has it that his wife tells him what to do and is his true boss.
  23. So you can "bring your own booze" to work. Drinking at work was a sacking offence where I used to work.
  24. The result from last night and the last few matches along with the absence of certain posters from this thread perhaps indicates that fhe "cult of Hasenhuttl" were correct. 😁😁
  25. Exactly. I read somewhere (perhaps on here) about the time that Allegra Stratton resigned that there were more stories to emerge. Someone is playing this very cleverly. Perhaps the same person who leaked the photos of Hancock snogging his aide.
