The Lib Dems are also the only party to oppose Brexit. It is amazing how, following your logic, a Leave voting area such as North Shropshire gave such a big V sign to Brexit.

Lets face it. Brexit is a fuck up which is doing untold damage to our economy, our country's reputation and our own individual rights. It was based upon the lies promulgated by the one of the biggest elected liars in this country's history and is nothing but a clusterfuck. God knows what benefits it has given us. The Northern Ireland question is impossible to resolve and Frostie the snowman has resigned because he knows it cannot be resolved. Ironically the first Cabinet Minister to resign due to "Covid regulations" and "high taxes" is an unelected place holder. Good luck on whoever replaces him .... but this country deserves so much better. -

By retaining the seat he would have gained himself breathing space till the New Year. The Christmas party would be dismissed as an old "Westminster bubble" story which didn't reflect the views of the electorate. As it is he is now under pressure from all angles and will be lucky to be leader in much of the New Year. -

If the Tories had retained the seat there would have been none of this talk now. -

This is " huge, game changing etc." not because the Lib Dems are now going to change British politics. It is significant because of the damage it does to Johnson's authority. -

An interesting point. You could be right but I think that they are past that stage. When you get the likes of Ant and Dec taking the piss you are in serious trouble. I inagine pantomime dames this Xmas are going to have great fun at Boris's expense. Objects of ridicule don't last long. -

The Covid measures about to be introduced must be right if the likes of Christopher Chope, Steve Baker, John Redwood and Desmond Swayne are against them. Do these nutters really represent the views of their constituents?

Any idea who benefits from this "government conspracy" or even why they are conspiring?

The Star's front page today is worth a look. Brilliant. It is like shooting fish in a barrel for the Opposition. What do they go for this week? The Christmas party? The Kabul evacuation? The chumocracy? The sad thing is that next week you know there will be another list of cock ups / lies/ corruption for them to choose from. -

Anyone who reads Billy Shite's match reports will know how Mike Dean saw that kick in the face: "Soft Southern Bastard. He shouldn't be on the pitch if he can't take a boot in the face." The Arsenal player was lucky to escape a booking from Dean for simulation.

We may need to expand St Marys to accommodate the JCL's.

Alex's post was so ridiculous that the only posters on this forum who would have posted it are Alex, Batman and Delldays. What a coincidence.

"What is wrong with America"?. A helluva lot in my opinion. Thank goodness for example that we don't have a similar gun culture. However lets not get too smug. Our own country is not much better. Has Biden ever rambled on about a cartoon pig when addressing business leaders? Some Americans may not want to interfere with the "breathing system that God gave them" but we have a substantial part of the governing party defying scientific opinion by refusing to wear masks. We have a leader of the House of Commons who thinks that you cannot catch Covid from frienda. America may well be a basket case but we are not a million miles away.

An interesting post for my family. Apparently my paternal great grandfather ( minor town council official) ended up sending my other great grandfather to jail because he wouldn't get his baby, my grandfather, vaccinted against smallpox. His protest apparently was against the vaccination process ( dirty blades used) rather than the vaccination itself. A load of bollux I say. Just get vaccinated.

It is undoubtedly a problem with no easy answer. Patel however should stop pretending that there is one. Her repeated ineffective claims that she is going to get tough on the boats may be designed to woo Tory party members but make her look lightweight and naive. -

I just love Jamie's / Alex's / Batman's relentless negativity about Southampton - both the city ("shithole") and football team ("relegation certainties before each season starts"). Its a bit of an identity giveaway.
