  1. Well I'm guessing he is trying to hint it's Erik Lamela! Sheesh = kebab = Lamb = Lam Fab Lolly= ???? Estrella = La But then it's hot outside and I've been out in the Sun. Not to sure of he secret code though. We have been linked with him on rumours sites and in the Italian press and he is valued at £24 million or so by all accounts. I still find it hard to believe though.
  2. If they do Norwich will have had a good transfer window so far. All they need now is another striker - Hooper probably - and they will have had a great summer. Swansea look to be having the same. So far I'm a little bit disappointed with Saints this summer - same crap sponsor, bad expensive home kit, and a lack of signings. Can't say that the possible signing of Wanyama is exactly wowing me either. Banega would do i think though - and Naingollan probably too. Signing Damiao would probably mean I'd need to go for a lie down in a darkened room. I'd put a £12 million bid in for Rodwell at Man City over Wanyama. Mind you none of them seem to want to come here!
  3. I think it will be Yoshida who parners Lovren with Fonte fighting Forren for a place on the bench - and Hooiveld will be moved on before the summers end.
  4. Maybe it's because we are after Antoine Griezmann
  5. At least it's got a Brazilian restaurant now!
  6. I have a feeling you might be right on that one - he wanted out of Lyon and Lyon wanted rid of him. Any idea who the first 3 choices for centre back were? I am guessing Astori, Victor Ruiz and Hector Moreno if rumours were to be believed.
  7. Marc Muniesa and Erik Pieters are great signings by Stoke - although one is a centre back who can play left back and the others a left back who can play centre back I'd have been very happy with either of those signings
  8. How much did we pay for him? Anyone remember?
  9. Please not Defoe - he played for the Skates - it always ends in tears when we sign one of them
  10. I'd easily believe that they sold more shirts this morning than last season as the home shirt is a lot better than last seasons Forest/Liverpool retro kit. And this seasons away kit is an awful lot better than last season white with red pinstripes. Still I'd prefer red and white stripes, quarters or even halves than just a plain red shirt. If they added a bit of black to the shirt and given us black shorts it would have looked like the centenary shirt and they could have got away with it.

    Poyet sacked.

Surely Poyet got what he wanted which was to walk away from Brighton - he was just hoping he could walk in to a premier league job at Fulham or Swansea Poyet and a Brighton deserve each other - the most histrionic set of fans we've ever had the misfortune to encounters - and one of the most self deluded mangers ever. Gus Poyet will be remembered as the man who introduced all that is bad about South American football to the championship - the diving, time wasting, the appealing for cards, the bad losing, the cheating. He's up there with Pulis and Fat Sam with his anti-football methods
  12. Nainggolan
  13. I'm not against changing the shirt for a bit of variety - and improving sales - along the same lines as Bayern Munich have done lately with a red and white as the base colours. But last seasons kit was truly awful - it looked like an old Liverpool or Nottingham Forest kit with the pinstripes, red socks and shorts. And I don't think sales were that good as a result - and certainly not on the levels of the sash kit and the stripes from the year before. This new seasons shirt looks a lot better to me than the last season Liverpool pin stripe - not as good as the centenary shirt above - but it's OK. I am led to believe it will come with red shorts and red and white hooped socks though. The socks may be its saving grace however and make it a bit more Saintly. I'd like to see us return to red and white stripes with black shorts at some point in the near future as this is the archetypal Saints shirt. But I'd also like to see us use the sash again at some point - and maybe a halved or quartered red and white shirt at some point as well. My favourite shirts are the late 70's barcode shirt and the early 80s Air Florida shirt which are both variations of the red and white stripes though. But they both came with black shorts.
  14. Kieran Trippier at right back and Martin Olsson at left back - both would compete for a starting place at right and left back and be happy to step up to the premier league
  15. I said the badge would be gold! Am I ITK?
  16. And the away kit will be a black and white - as opposed to white and black - version of the Fulham kit with a silver badge
  17. Apparently Newcastle have pulled out of signing Douglas on a free transfer - perhaps we should step in: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/newcastle-joe-kinnear-drove-derek-1967425
  18. Collar is wrong and the badge is gold
  19. Saints were definitely looking for new shirt sponsors. They approached a number of companies that I know of. As I understand it aap3 were more than happy to be replaced by a bigger sponsor paying more money. But now it looks like aap3 will be the sponsors for next year and a number of the sponsorship team are no longer working at Southampton FC.
  20. That might depend on how many and which players we sell.
  21. Lens had his chance - let him go to Kiev
  22. The kits have been chosen. They are just waiting to sign up a new sponsor. The home kit will be a red shirt with white ends to the sleeves, with red shorts Based on the same design as the Bristol City and Hearts home shirts. The away kit will be black with a deep v-neck white collar. Based on the same design as the Aberdeen home shirt. The socks will be hooped. The badge will be gold or silver.
  23. Douglas Franco Texeira from Twente - 6ft 4 centre back with pace - a Brazilian with a Dutch passport - out of contrct and on a free transfer
  24. I'd rather go for Douglas - the Dutch Brazilian - on a free transfer
  25. So far we have been linked with Victor Ruiz, Joan Verdu, Raul Baena, Phillipe Coutinho and Jose Callejon who all played under Pochettino at Espanyol - and Hector Moreno who plays there now. I have a feeling we will end up with at least one of them (ignoring Coutinho who made the wrong decision and went to Scousepool) - but how much of it is just easy paper talk. If we had to pick one I'd go for Jose Callejon to fill the gap on the right wing - he's a pacey wide right forward which is exactly what we need. However I think it will be Victor Ruiz as Valencia need the money - and I think Pochettino sees him as cover for centre back and holding midfielder.
