that's not bad - but not everyone want to sit there and the tickets elsewhere are more expensive - besides if you've been made redundant or are under the threat of redundancy and you've got household bills and a mortgage to pay its hard to justify spending £23 on a ticket whatever its for

Your probably right - but lets enjoy the possibilities for now!

La la la la .....who laughing now!

Republican all the way. Just as I am English and not British. And just as I'd rather be a citizen and not a subject. The royal family and the British Empire are in the past - we should leave them there and look to the future. The royal family are also the cornerstone of our class system which still holds so many people back. The very fact they exist gives truth to the lie that people are born better then others - and its who you are or where you are from that matters - not what you do. A president is not the only alternative to a King, Queen or Prince either. Just as the House of Lord could and should be elected in some way. The Speaker of the House of Commons (OK Bercow is not the best example of this) and/or the Leader of the House of Lords could and should be our heads of State. We could even have an elected Lord Protector and go back to the title used by Oliver Cromwell. People also seem to forget that William and Anne were 'invited' to be the King and Queen of England/Scotland/Wales as James II was deposed with the Glorious Revolution - so everything they own is ours anyway! Besides they are more Greek, Dutch, German and Scottish than English! Just like we did with the Magna Carter, the English Civil War and the Glorious Revolution the English people need to be more radical.

You could add Wade Elliott, Brian Howard, Sam Vokes, Lucas Juktiewitz, Josh McQouid and Danny Ings to that list as well then!
-
Camara like Fuller was a headless chicken. Camara scored one or two great goals - but apart from that what did he do - he made us worse - he didn't pass the ball, ram down blind alleys and didn't track back. He may have scored a few for himself but his selfish play wasted an awful lot more scoring opportunities for the rest of the team.
-
I'd have taken Juktiewitz over Tandanari - no question. What we lack most is a 6ft 2 centre forward to lead the line. Imagine Lambert playing as the second striker behind Juktiewitz - exploiting the space created by someone pressing the oppositions centrebacks - and having someone else that is good in the air. I've not seen Sharp play but I hope he's as good as some people say.
-
Falque was a terrible mistake - he'll be back in Spurs reserves before the end of the season just to get some game times as I don't think he will get anymore here. Leicester, Cardiff, Brum and West Ham all have squads that our much better than ours on paper. Player for player certainly - it was the way we were playing at the start of the season that was making the difference. Now we seem to have lost our way - and the individual quality of the players in their squads is now making a real difference.
-
De Ridder also proved he can't play in a 442 - he's neither a winger nor a striker. He's a wide forward who comes from Dutch football and is used to playing in a 443. Too often he overran the strikers, then remembered he supposed to be crossing the football not taking the shot himself - then he ends up cutting the ball back behind the striker, running down a blind alley!
-
Barnard had 2 shots in the short time he was on and showed the aggression you need in the English game - which is more than Tandanari did to be honest. Tandanari may have run around a lot but several times was just brushed off by Millwalls defence - he didn't see that much of the ball as most of the time he didn't see to want it! People are kidding themselves if they think he's going to be our great hope. Sorry! Give me Barnard any day of the week.
-
Maybe I'd agree with you if we'd signed a new rightback and a centreback - and maybe a proper winger - as well as a striker. Falque and Tandanari were not really statements of intent - nor was settling for keeping Puncheon - probably the exact opposite. Although getting Puncheon back in the team may turn out to be out best bit of January business.
-
Lee won't be making more than the odd sub appearance after tonight - unless game time is written into his contract - or the one with the Japanese media. Japanese football must be down there with the Scottish Premier.
-
Just got back - our full backs were both terrible tonight, De Ridder has no end product and Tandanari Lee is way out of his depth in Championship football, we have no width, lack a real centre forward, p*ss around with the football too much and have no one to long ball it to when under pressure - or when the short ball is not on. We may pass the ball well at times - but we have no variety in our play - we are very predictable - we'd rather pass it sideways than forward! Maybe a really negative view but we really lacked drive, energy and creativity tonight! Saying that Lallana goal was pure class - but it was all about the individual - not the team. It was also the first timex I've seen Ben Reeves play and he looked a class above. Great first touch, composed on the ball and by far our most incisive passer of the ball tonight. He actually played the ball forward and looked for the strikers with the through ball.

We may be second from top but since November we've looked more like a team that second from bottom

What about Winchester? It's a bloody rugby town isn't it! Will the White Swan/Mucky Duck being showing the Saints game - does anyone know?
-
Alex Smithies?
-
The Saints are Coming - the version that played before the JPT final - who was that by? I can never remember? I have to say watching the League Cup semi final the Palarse fans have some great songs -as they did at St Marys on Boxing Day. We could learn a bit from them.
-
Nope - Zaha runs down a lot of blind alleys - and Clyne was far too small to be a top class fullback - both overhyped.

I'm not sure we ever took a serious look at Maynard. Maybe we enquired with club and agent about tranfer fees and wages and probably thought he was overpriced - but Bristol City didn't really want to sell him and Maynard wants to go to the Premiership. He'll either join someone like Norwich or WBA now or wait for the summer and move on a free transfer. I can't really see him joining Wigan - although Bristol City may well accept a bid from them now that they know he won't sign a new contract. With Sharp I think we agreed a fee and wages - but with his wife being pregnant and with what happened later I think he wanted to stay at Doncaster for family reasons. Now I think Sharp probably wants a bit of stability and will probably stay at Doncaster until the summer - or move to a Premier League team in easy travelling distance of home. I'd bet on him joining someone like Everton in the summer. Celtic wont sell Hooper - or want way too much money for him - and I think at the back of hid mind he want to stay until the summer for the treble winners medals this season - but I think he'll leave them for the Premiership in the summer. Maybe us if we get promoted. Burnley wont sell Jay Rodriguez - and I don't think he'll leave them this season whilst they have a chance of the play-offs. Its his home town club and with the parachute payment they can still afford to pay him well. But I think it might be a different matter come the summer. Burnley do have a lot of strikers - and have brought a couple more in recently - and Charlie Austin is supposedly a bit unhappy up north and wanting to return south. Maybe we should look at signing him if this is the case. Strikers are in short supply - particularly good ones - and it seems we're not going to splash the cash around in stupid numbers to get one.
-
I agree that with Yago Falque it was just one game - and he may drastically improve over the next couple of games - but you have to admit the signs weren't good. Whatever you think about his long term future with Saints it certainly wasn't the game to give him his debut. De Ridder should have started over Falque and Richardson over Harding - it's as simple as that. And there is no obsession with Vokes - he's just an example - its a centre forward we need - a 6ft2 striker to lead the line - but we need to be pragmatic about it and go after someone that might actually be available. We don't need a world beater - just someone who can do a job for us. Lambert, Lallana and Do Prado playing behind a centre forward with Cork and Schneiderlin in midfield would cause any team problems. I'm hoping Tandanari can be that striker - but I'm not convinced he will be. Against Leicester we really missed someone upfront to lead the line, hold the ball, link play and pressurise the centrebacks and give us an option to go long with the ball from the back - particularly when we are under pressure.
-
Here's a list of targets we should be after - and maybe could actually sign - Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Adam Hammill, Sam Vokes, Matt Kilgallon, and maybe Charlie Austin.
-
Well Yago Falque was a waste of time based on last nights evidence. He may be technically brilliant but if he's not us to the speed and physicality of the Championship there is not much point. Can we send him back to Spurs I wonder?!
-
Only problem is St Ledger, Danns and Nugent all joined Leicester for more money then we were willing to pay I expect - plus I don't think many people thought we'd be in with a chance of promotion at the start of the season (maybe they were right though) whereas people seemed to think Leicester would be contenders (maybe they were right there too)
-
Yago Falque was terrible - too small for Championship football - and a bit out of his depth with the pace and physicality of it all. I imagine he would look like a much better player in the Spanish Leagues with a bit more time for tippy tappy football. And it certainly wasn't the game to give him his debut - maybe the last 15 minutes when we are 3-0 up would have been more appropriate. He lived up to my expectations though - I really hope Tandanari Lee doesn't!
