  1. It's a p**s take you idiots! Besides what he's actually suggesting is a takeover and putting down of Portsmuff FC! Which I quite like as an idea! In reality the Skates are already bust and in any other business would probably be wound up anyway! The premier league should let them go to the wall as s lesson to other clubs!
  2. One bad pass or missed shot and he will become the boo boy just like Fuller if we do sign him it's probably Pardews first big mistake it will be a bad move both for the player and the club I was hoping for Pitman or maybe someone like Healy on loan
  3. Leeds will be weaker by the end of January - probably losing Beckford and Snodgrass and maybe one or two others hopefully we will be stronger with another forward, a left winger, another midfielder, another centreback and maybe two more full backs Leeds have strength in depth that we don't yet'
  4. We need another striker - one with some real pace and power to lead the line and play in front of Connolly or Lambert we also need a first choice right back and reserve left back and probably another first choice centreback a left winger would be good as well
  5. We didn't play well today and still won 3-1! Started with the long ball and the actually started to play football after about 15 mins. When we passed the ball we were the much better team. Took our foot off the gas though and let Exeter score. Waigo should have come on much earlier - as should Wotton. Lallana and Connolly were the real stars today and along with Waigo stood out as being too good for this division. Lambert was disappointing again!

  7. Max Gradel - he would give us another option at left wing and allow us to play Lallana in central midfield, as a second striker or on the right. He's got pace and keeps scoring goals for Leeds from the bench. He's only on loan from Leicester so he certainly one we should be looking at. As is Vokes - only on loan at Leeds - he would make a great back up to Lambert - and as a Saints fan would give a bit extra. Similarly I think Brett Pitman would give us another great back up to Lambert. Probably don't need both though. Brian Howard to add strength to midfield if he's still not playing at Reading come January. Again as a Saints fans he's give that bit extra. Lukas Juktiewicz - he's on loan at Motherwell from Everton and has scored 7 goals in 13 games - he's from Southampton (but with Irish and Polish ancestry) originally via Swindon and a loan at Plymouth last season. Loan's up in January so he could be a real possibility.
  8. I'm a believer! a good December on the pitch and a good January transfer window off the pitch and I think we'll be looking at a play-off place
  9. anybody could see they had talent last season - they just lacked the environment for it to shine in having senior players like Connolly and Jaidi around them, as players in the prime like Harding, Hammond and Lambert in the team makes a real difference to the younger players both Morgan and Adam will make it to the top of the game if given the time and ther right environment to develop properly (outside of injury or anything like that)
  10. we should have started with 4-5-1 against both Brighton and Norwich - and only switched to 4-4-2 if we needed to go all out to score a winning goal in the second half the reason we lost against Norwich was due to lack of protection for the back 4 from midfield - and the failure to press Nowich when they had posession or simply close players down Wotton would have made a massive difference playing in the defensive midfielder role on Saturday and both James and Davis had bad moments for the penalt and the goal! Davis' distribution of the ball is terrible - whether by foot or hand - and he still fails to dominate the box
  11. Kelvin's distribution of the ball is bl**dy awful! His kicking of the ball is terrible - he make's a big show of it but then just hoofs it up the field to nowhere never does it quickly either! and he hardly ever throws it out - or plays the short ball to a full back we put ourselves under pressure by giving the ball away - instead of building from the back Harding and James are part of the problem as they don't make themselves available for the short ball though Murty did when he came on and we actually started to pass the ball from the back - all be it a little bit
  12. We definately need a bit more depth in the squad - another CB, probably another leftback and another rightback, another striker and maybe a left winger. Possibly a DM ad well. I think we may be restricted by the limits on our wage bill. If we can get rid of Saga we might bring in two more players I'd like to have seen us bring in Vokes and Gradel on loan instead of seeing them go to Leeds
  13. Lambert failed to chase the ball today - or defend from the front. He looked lazy - or maybe he was unwelll. If that's the case we should have started with Waigo instead of Lambert and used his pace and commitment.
  14. Too many players had a bad game today - Trotman, Jaidi particularly. Plus Lallana and Harding also started badly! We should have started with 4-5-1 and then switched to 4-4-2 as before - it works well with us plus Brighton would have got frustrated and given up against a solid 4-5-1
  15. I'm in The Exchange warming up for Kick-off - but that's partly because I thought it started at 4pm
  16. The Commercial department at Saints aren't that good to be honest - Andy Oldknow brought a different approach to things but had a tendency to upset people with his manner I expect someone who is better in both aspects will be brought in eventually

Cranie still in the England U21's isn't he. Given the time to develop slowly and fully - as well as the opportunity to play regularly in time I think Blackstock, Best, Mills and Cranie could all have been first team regulars for us in either of the top two divisions.
  18. Jaidi is 32 I think!
  19. I can't believe I decided not to go today after Tuesday! That will teach me!!
  20. even if we get another striker in we still need a right winger with pace and a first choice right back Waigo is obviously still adjusting to the pace and style of League 1 football but looked promising on Tuesday night some of his one touch football was level or two above this league - and he's got pace to burn he also gave us some width - but it was obvious his natural position is upfront I'd like to see us bring in another striker - Vokes would be good as he's a Saints fan but I think he's on his way to Coventry. Tom Craddock at Luton could be worth a punt . He has pace apparently and a good scoring record in League 2. Max Gradel at Leicester apparently did very well in League 1 last season - and with pace and creativity would give us what we need on the right wing. Perhaps we can persuade Leicester to swap him with Saga for the rest of the season! The only people I can think of for right back are Phil Ifil (young and pacey) or Chris Baird (solid and experienced). Would Chris step down to League 1 for a homecoming though!
  21. its easy to celebrate when you win a game like that if we'd scored the final goal and not them St Mary's would have well and truly rocked I was bit disappointed though as some bald four-eyed in-bred Bristolian OAP had offered to meet me after the game - with his 10 or so mates along for the ride of course - and he never showed up that's what happens when you hang around on street corners (outside the King Alfred's) before the game waiting for your mates to turn up with the tickets! all I can say is its lucky for him I was outnumbered 10 to 1 - and lucky for me the bouncer from King Alfred's scared them off although according to one of his mates I was OK coz I was a 'shirt'! I think he had a bit of a strop on coz the bouncers wouldn't let him in the pub!
  22. more thought less running around would be a good start! we certainly didn't help ourselves - or our energy levels - by using the long ball from the back when it went to 2-2 it was crying out for a bit of 'keep possession' football - and playing it out from the back Davis' distribution of the ball is awful - whether it be kicking or throwing it out. There were numerous times in the second half when he should have passed the ball out short to Harding or James - openning up the pitch and working the ball forward through midfield there were also numerous times we should have switched the play from right to left - particularly when James was taking throw-ins in our own half in the second half and no one seemed to want the ball it was crying out for the ball to be thrown back to Trotman or Davis - rather than aimlessly forward - and then played out wide to the left bringing Holmes on instead of Mills would have given us some width, as well as an attacking threat down the left although I have a feeling Mills was supposed to do this and cover Harding - but I think he completely forgot his instructions from AP and drfited into the middle like a headles chicken
  23. I think there was a bit of that to be honest - I'm not convinced he really wants to be here at the moment. He never seemed to attack the ball - seemed to want it on a plate if at all. And if Davis' long balls got anywhere near him he didn't seem to win them anyway! He's not the big centre forward - dominant in the air we hoped he was. He's got no pace either! We need to change our style of play - keep the ball on the ground, get some width and pace down the wings and pass it to Lamberts feet if we are going to get the best out of him We
  24. No width on the left all game - from either Mellis or Mills - and no cover or support for Harding (which is why he looked os bad - he was knackered for the last 10 mins after having to do it all on his own for the whole game) Jaidi seemed to hit a brick wall at about 70 mins and just ran out of steam - seemed to affect Trotman as well too many players stopped tackling or wanting the ball for the last 20 mins Kelvin was a disaster for the first goal and his long kicking off the ball was a complete waste of posession all game (why don't we feed the ball to our fullbacks, play it out from the back and stretch the play) Lallana and Schneiderlin were good with the ball at their feet Mellis, James and Schneiderlin all chickened out of 50/50 challenges in the second half which gave Rovers the scent of or blood Hammond seemed to give up on defending after 70 minutes! Lambert just doesn't attack the ball - seems to want it on a plate - I'm starting to think he's a bit lazy! and no one seemed to want the ball when James was taking the throw-ins - particularly Hammond, Trotman and Kelvin Rovers deserved the win as they outplayed us for the 95 mins and wanted it more we desperately need some width on the left and right - and some more pace all over the pitch!
  25. the one advantage Perry would have over James is positioning and reading of the game - personally I think Perry would do all right at right back unless he was facing a winger with real pace James is better in central midfield than right midfield or right back. He can pass the ball and has put one or two good crosses into the box - BUT he's not the best tackler, doesn't read the game that well defensively and cannott mark his man or cover the space with his positioning sure these things may come in time - but he needs to be coached in them and spend time in the reserves learning them he does seem to lack a bit of pace and strength as well though I'd take Murty, Thomas and Perry over him at right back (in that order) every time however a 20-something first choice right back should be a priority signing before the loan window closes or in the January window
