    Cost of Living

I cba with a debate as to why. We are. The discussion should be the way out of it. We can't borrow more. We can't spend much less. We can't tax much more, at least from the masses.

What did Reeves say that she'd have done differently? Seems to me that he was about as balanced as he could be given the shit we're in.
  3. If the wages were sensible, yes.

    Gavin Bazunu

It confirms that it's bollocks and that the people who make up the predicted expected goals got it wrong, like the people make up the expected goals, etc.

  7. I'd support us whatever league we're in, but I'd prefer it to be the PL. It's the knock on effect for relegation that often gets overlooked - job losses, attracting and keeping young talent, etc.
  8. We've failed to get enough points on the board this season, and given Jones an awful lot to do. Sadly I can't now see another 3 teams finishing below us. As much as I'd like us to stay up, our journey back up last time was brilliant, and I'd fancy our chances of a quick bounce back if the inevitable happens.

  13. in Reeves in Romsey, they have loaves at £4.70 and £4.85. Crazy. I'll need someone to explain how that's Brexit related though.

  16. Yep, I sensed no sincerity whatsoever. The truth is that I'd forgotten the fella and what he did he is/was. All he's done for me is remind that he's an idiot.
  17. As interesting as his openness was, politicians have always touched upon a question but said what they've wanted to say anyway. Knowing the name of the process doesn't add anything imo. What I was more interested in was the whiny weasel wanting/expecting forgiveness for his selfish double standards, and his obvious insincerity being spotlighted by Chris Moyles. He has done himself no favours.
  18. Absolutely, a number of small improvements may just make a big difference. I'll hold my hands up and concede that there was contempt prior to investigation on my part. He's got me on side, and hopefully the players too.
  19. I've just watched the press conference in full. I may have misjudged this bloke, I like him and he's got more than a bit about him. Straight talking, talks a lot of sense seems realistic but is confident that he can do a job and improve us. It'll be an interesting ride.

  21. First time buyers would be deluded if they expected to buy the average house. If they're willing to start low they have more chance. We're back to choice and expectation.
  22. Yep. I remember the newsflash. First time I cried as an adult. Our mortgage payments became about 2/3 of our combined net incomes. Scary times.
  23. No resentments here CB. I can't change that it was easier for my folks to buy than it was for me, and that it was easier for me than it will be for my kids. I accept the reality of that, and can't see a single benefit of whining about it, or acknowledging how much easier I had it. We'll have to agree to differ.
  24. Yep. That's part of my point on entitlement. Some of the comments assume a right or a need to buy, and £100k either suggests a massive deposit so small mortgage, or a bigger starter home than is needed. Too many people confuse desire with need.
  25. I don't see how it helps to harp back to how previous generations had it. Your resentment of it makes no difference to my kids abilities to buy property. Yep, tougher now, but your position is about as futile as SoG's original post.
