Not trying to be pessimistic but when do we give up on Isgrove? 22 years old with only 15 senior appearances in his entire career. Unsure why we extended his contract in March, assuming he'll be released in 2017.

He was absolutely dreadful last season and is now undergoing surgery, this transfer would be completely uninspiring. Why not van Dijk at £8m or so?

No news is depending on who you believe. Guardian is currently saying that the deal is done and Les Reed is agreeing a settlement with Atletico before it can be confirmed.

Well we've broken off any ties with Atletico, even though we're offering more than Tottenham I can just see them refusing it.

He did say nothing concrete is done, I imagine it just means that the personal terms haven't quite been agreed with Toby yet. Will be shortly though, could even be a little kick up the ass for Spurs.

1) Not in the near future, because the English youth is quite simply not good enough in comparison to the foreign talent comign through. When a player does actually come through (Sterling, Shaw, Chambers...), you have to hideously inflated fees to buy them. 2) If we're going to progress, we honestly need to do it. I love having an English core and signing players like Forster/Bertrand, but if there isn't any reasonably priced options out there, what's the point. Whilst being commendable, it can't hold us back and we need to find a successful middle ground. Also, any updates on Toby?

For all we know Toby may still want to sign, hopefully he gets asked if he's spoken to him since the Tottenham interest came up.

We'll find out a lot today with Koeman's presser and he's had an interview with Adam Blackmore. He's normally reasonably open with this stuff.
