  1. They can't make everyone happy, but when you look at some of the awful chairman in this thread it puts into perspective how well off we actually are.
  2. That sounds like a v good deal IMO.
  3. He's done a great job, some will argue he did what was expected of him...but he was under enormous pressure due to the start we had to the season, and he got us flying by the end of it. So I think he deserves alot of credit for how he managed the squad through the 2nd half of that season. We seem to have gone up a notch this year, last year was all about getting out of that league, this year seems to be about building/assembling a team that can grow and play in the premiership. I think the fact we're not playing under so much pressure has brought about some of the amazing, relaxed football we're playing. I'm excited by the types of players we're being linked with, because it shows we're planning long-term and not going gung-ho like Leicester have - on players who are arguably championship standard at best. ...and also some of our players have improved so much under Nige, notably Rickie and his fitness/mobility and also Dan Seaborne who has got better and better IMO and I hope we see him again before long.
  4. Bar Niemi, That was such a bad team really, no wonder we went down. I don't think Quashie plays football anymore either, and he was arguably our better player after Anti in that team.
  5. By all accounts he was excellent when he came on at Leicester. I think Adkins wants us to have pacy/attacking wing backs long-term, which is why we're also linked with Clyne. Dan has been great for us, but I think Adkins is looking for more ''explosive'' pacy players. It'll make us an amazingly dangerous team on the break.
  6. You're right....I sold him for 26m in a game I played a while ago. Snap him up Adkins.
  7. I'd imagine alot will depend on how he trains this week, it would make sense to play him in positional footballing sense, but if he's not sure he's up to it fitness wise at the mo (he hasn't played a game for a while) then he may opt for Martin.
  8. Great news.
  9. Latest on Dan: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9231736.Seaborne_remains__stable__in_hospital/
  10. Mame Biram Diouf? Been told he can go out on loan by Man Utd.
  11. To old for U21's I think, and he hasn't ever played for the senior squad. He's prob just going back home to see his missus as she's still stuck over there whilst he's in a Hotel here. Don't think we've got any internationals at the moment.
  12. I think Leigh has gone back to Scotland on Loan, not sure about Watt - is he a winger? He didn't do much at Leeds last year tbh. But I agree with the view that we need some pace on the bench, other than De Ridder.
  13. It's better news than we first heard this morning, but you have to fear for his career really - esp. in his position where you are constantly having to head the ball away. That's the least of the worries at the mo though, hope for his sake and his family that he makes a recovery to live a normal life.
  14. Christ, just heard about this. Hope he makes a full recovery from this, but it sounds really bad. Hope they catch the scum that did it.
  15. and this is why Adkins is our manager, and not half the people on here....
  16. Mitchell has been slaughtered.
  17. lol .
  18. Some Bournemouth fans have short memories, the journey they have come on in the last 3 years is breathtaking. A club like Bournemouth will always have to sell players, bids of 400-£1m will be too good to turn down for them, and tbf their players have earnt those moves over the last few years. They should be bloody grateful they're playing league football, not complaining they can't compete in the top 6 of L1.
  19. christ on a bike.
  20. Because he got injured in November!
  21. Isn't he injured long-term?
  22. Sinclair is quality, but keep an eye on Ward-Prowse. I don't think it's long before he's the next big thing, he's incredibly gifted. a CM with great technique. I don't like to say Stephens because we nicked him from Plymouth, but he will be first choice RB before long. Class act.
  23. You getting hm confused with MCgoldrick? Blackstock has been a decent success for them, 18 in 56 apps IIRC. He's out injured atm, has been for the past 6 months, will be back in the new year apparently.
  24. I think Pardew was linked with him back in january a few years back, when he was at Gillingham. but we went for Barnard instead.
  25. p.s - we've spent £4m in this window, and have tied down our key players to long term deals. That doesn't strike me as a club with no ambition.
