  1. Much the same as you DPS, i was quite annoyed by the sacking and i felt it was unjust at the time - but we don't really know what was going on in the background at the time nor will we ever find out. But you have to say that the decision at the moment looks like the right one. I loved the appointment of Nigel, felt it was excellent. He's a modern, forward thinking manager and can go all the way with us - there aren't too many young managers around with his talent, I really rate the guy and have since day 1. It does all look really positive now with the excitement of another transfer window coming up, and with the benefit of hindsight it does look like Nicola has made the correct choice for the long-term.
  2. It's really a promotion or bust for them this year, next summer should be great. We'll be celebrating a promotion with a nice trophy and they're once again imploding from finishing bottom half in the championship.
  3. but we need 10 new players..!!!!!
  4. Interviewer - ''Has cortese given you a specific budget to spend" Adkins - "Look, i have a great relationship with Cortese'' Interviewer - ''but has cortese given you a budget to work with?" Adkins "bit pushy aren't you? me and cortese have a great relationship and bids have been made privately (substational bids too) for players. If they happen they happen, if they don't we move onto the next"
  5. i loved the fact that they had to repeat the budget thing twice....just to make it clear.
  6. lol @ the adkins interview....repeated randomally
  7. another good thing from our last 3 games...our GD is now excellent and is keeping us in 2nd place (with charlton now winning) we're only 5 goals behind Brightons +22 GD.
  8. great result, just what we needed to do. We did lose the plot a bit after they pulled one back, but we're always a threat on the break and it seems as if Lambert is getting back to the level we all know he's capable of. ...quite ominous for the other teams in this league! Table is looking good now, couple of results could have been better but on the large - the pack behind us is now much further away.
  9. chambo off, barnard on Guly into midfield i guess
  10. great effort by chappers, just over the bar. Sub by daggers - bas savage off, Josh scott on. Like for like by the sounds of it.
  11. sounds like dickson has had a good game
  12. totally, but i can't imagine he'll commit himself until he knows we're out of this league. From his POV it's probably the most sensible thing to do tbh. He'll be here till the end of the season whatever.
  13. TBH mate, i know you were not that keen on getting Adkins but he has made a great impact here - look at where we are in the league. There is nothing wrong with us and we'll only get stronger in the window, just enjoy us being in an automatic promotion battle for a change!
  14. And those certain posters will now vanish, only to be seen again when the going gets tough. so predictable.
  15. Lallananananana 1-0!!!
  16. made by people who can't even hear/see the match...they are just following comments on here...it is totally mental.
  17. I imagine people expect us to be 10-0 up already because we're Saints and they're Dagenham. Bit harsh, it's places like this which are often the hardest places to go to all season so any win - no matter how big or small, will be excellent.
  18. You'll vanish off this thread as soon as we score, FACT.
  19. I'm confused by certain peoples comments - is the game over already? no. Have we played badly? no Have we dominated much of the game? yes
  20. isn't it fun that we're actually involved in an automatic promotion battle though? first time I've ever experienced it as a saints fan, I'm used to watching games like this as a complete outsider. beats scrapping around for 6th place.
  21. looking at it in the bigger picture, i feel the same - we now have 2 games over hudds and they are only 1 point in front of us.
  22. Wednesday should be level...reckon this could end in a draw.
  23. Hudders lead, great goal from Pilkington He won't be there by the end of the month.
  24. Enjoyed that! A very comfortable win (apart from 20mins at the start where they made it hard for us). Guly should have had a hat-trick - the guy is getting more confident and more accustomed to this league, the oppo. at this level cannot track his movement as he's so clever. But of course...he's **** and we should call him a taxi. Never mind. Lalana was a joy to watch, you would pay just to watch him on the ball for 90mins. Everything good about us always went through him, the agility he has to take a touch, spin on the ball and then find a player is great. He's the best player in the league. Frustrated for Lambo today, he played well again but he didn't get that break for the goal - but he did try his hardest, he had a couple of thumping efforts at goal but as unlucky. The 2nd half was just too easy though, the subs that Exeter made screwed the game up for them and it became 1 way traffic and we really should have had at least 6, no exaggeration. But who cares - we got 4, we're 2nd in the league at the start of the year. I've got a feeling that 2011 could be a year to remember... Davis - 7 - Not much to do, kicking was better today. Richardson - 7 - One brilliant run at the start of the game which setup lambo (i think) and generally solid throughout. Our best RB. Fonte - 7 - Not tested massively, but calm, collected and composed on the ball - had a chance to score in the first half too. Seaborne - 7 - Good to see him back against his former club and he was solid. Again, not really tested - but did what he had to do. Harding - 7 - Up and down the flank as usual, put a couple of good balls in the box and defended in his normal way. Chambo - 7 - He got an assist with a great run - but other than that, it was a frustrating afternoon for him. I'm not sure if he was still nursing a knock of sorts, but he was a little off colour. To be expected though, he's only a kid! Morgan - 8 - Excellent player, ran the midfield today - I don't think he gave the ball away once and he constantly picked the right pass. Chappers - 8 - That's why we signed him, tenacious and box to box. He was in their faces all game. Lallana - 9 - MOTM - So good, love watching him. I really hope we get him signed up...but I reckon he'll hold fire until he knows what league we're in. Lambo - 7 - Frustrating game for him, but still good. He looks much slimmer and is more involved in our attacking play. Unlucky not to have at least 1 goal. Guly - 8 - 2 Goals and a general guly performance - put himself about, ran the channels and moved the Exeter CB's all over the show. He needs to be signed.
  25. he's scored again...
