  1. Tonight's result was not good enough, it was poor, but if you look at the bigger picture and what Adkins has inherited then he's got to slowly get us out of this slump. He may not have really inherited the best squad in the league, some good players yes - but without a good pre-season they turn into injury prone pretty average l1 players.
  2. I'm still holding hope for 2nd position, but i wanted to see us win the league so bad. I don't think i'm ever going to see my club top of any league in my life time.
  3. not really, look at it in the context of things. On first look it's a poor result, but if you look at where we are in the season, how long the manager has had in charge and the fact that we are slowly improving then i'd say it's more acceptable than a 0-0 at Wycombe at the back end of the season, when we 100% needed a win and the manager had been here for half a year. As people have said, if these results were swapped round (Wednesday 1 -1 Southampton) (Yeovil 0 - 1 Southampton) i think the reactions would be totally different. A win on Saturday, and then the following Saturday and it's 10 points from a possible 12 avaliable. That's auto form, but we need to prove we can do it and keep doing it. Still going to be tough.
  4. we haven't lost. and i still think this post is totally ridiculous and driven from a knee-jerk reaction.
  5. Go on then, Adkins out.
  6. tbh it's looking more and more likely that the pre-season preparation was not good enough, and you'd have to put that at Pardews door.
  7. thanks, good to hear the views from someone there. There's just a general air of disappointment as we couldn't hold onto a winning position, it would have made such a difference.
  8. really big ask, we need to start winning games like tonight! I thought we were a shoe in for at least 2nd place, but it's looking incredibly doubtful now.
  9. Well he wasn't getting the best from it during pre-season or at the start of the season was he? Silly debate really, too early to question anything Adkins is doing. We are unbeaten, but auto promotion is slipping away, but i don't believe our general form is down to Adkins. It's been with us since pre-season.
  10. christ, that makes it look worse - sure it's only 111 points to play for? if we want auto promotion we can only realistically drop around 15-20 more points. That's going to be one hell of an effort from the position we're in.
  11. Does it matter now? nope. forget him and move on, bringing threads up on pardew isn't going to help anyone. and p.s - how long has adkins been in charge? how long did it take pardew to get his first win? exactly.
  12. Pretty poor result IMO. We need to win these sort of games when we take the lead, our automatic promotion credentials are looking dead in the water.
  13. yeovil all over us, we just need to hang in there now. 1-1 it is.
  14. bit harsh. you could call him a 4 season wonder
  15. will rickie ever score again
  16. how can the liverpool/sundarland/manutd free forums stay online - yet this forum struggles whenever there is something going on? That's why posters are starting to vanish from this site.
  17. they've got their penalty, which they deserve.
  18. Yeovil should be winning this quite comfortably.
  19. for crying out loud, we keep slipping!
  20. never trust anything from that site maysie, i posted stuff on there in the past as a joke and it was published.

    Stephen Darby.

tbh i've not been convinced by butters, solid enough but way too slow when being attacked. This guy can play at LB or RB iirc, so good cover - but not exactly in a position we need, i thought the wide areas would be priority.

    Guly

how have you come to that conclusion when he's barley played for us?
  23. I've always felt he's a good player tbh. Very quick off the ground and reads the game well, but is prone to the odd lapse as he's still only 21. That will get coached out of him after time, the guy obviously has something as he captained a team to promotion when he was only 19. He's got great potential, Martin and Seaborne could be a future partnership for us.
  24. I've had a good feeling about this bloke ever since the news broke that we'd approached him. Everything he has said since has been perfect. He seems like a genuinely likable fella.

    Fonte off?

He has a thigh strain as confirmed on Solent before the game.
