apparently there won't be much in central soton now, looks like it will pretty much avoid us. It's act. been raining where i am... never mind - at least the game will be on for sat!
  2. I'd still expect us to go for a pacy striker though, i see Pericard as a kind of ''replacement'' for lambo, if he's injured - as we have no one else with any sort of ''presence'' to play up top.
  3. Twitter update BBC Radio Solent understands that #saintsfc are closing in on the signing of Carlisle United striker Vincent Pericard.
  4. I don't know, I've got an open mind on it - he's been decent for Carlisle at this level and will be a useful squad player. Sky sports reported earlier that they ''understood'' he'd rejected the contract offer by carlisle and was set to join another club - so putting that and south today's report together, he's probably ours.
  5. If we really wanted him, a week wouldn't matter. He's likely to be ours imo.
  6. South today report that he is ''set to sign'' in the next few days.

Thought I'd bump this up, as we could be in for some nasty stuff tonight. met office have just released a ''red -take action'' warning for hampshire. (so that would mean gritting the roads ) ''London & South East England: Hampshire Oxfordshire Southampton W Berkshire There is a high risk of an extreme weather event affecting parts of Southern England this evening and overnight. A period of exceptionally heavy snowfall is expected with accumulations of 15-30 cm and perhaps in excess of 40 cm. This is expected to cause widespread disruption to the transport network and could lead to problems with power supplies. The public are advised to take extreme care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads. Issued at: 1135 Tue 5 Jan''
  8. that would be amazing if true, he's not a L1 defender that's for sure. I also read somewhere that we were in the market for Kilgallon, but i find that hard to believe...
  9. tbf he'd be a decent squad player at this level.
  10. Thought that's all it would be. Bizzare that they put it on twitter. It was pretty much common knoweledge he was staying anyway. 1st signing of a few though IMo.
  11. It's not even been moved because it will be on TV. it's been moved ''incase'' there is a chance it will be chosen for TV The second leg of the Dons' Johnstone's Paint Trophy area final against Southampton at St Mary's Stadium has been brought forward a week to Tuesday 9th February, kick-off 7.45pm. The game had been scheduled to take place on Tuesday 16th February, but dates have been adjusted in order to fit potential television schedules should the game be selected for live coverage.
  12. at a guess it's antonio, i'd very much doubt we've managed to tie up the Ward transfer this soon.
  13. the latest news (as speculated on the forums by their ''ITK'' people) is that he's rejected their contract offer.
  14. they're withholding their TV money, to pay the debts owed to clubs regarding transfers (watford for e.g.)
  15. PNE have Trotman back, St Ledger back and they are tied to a deal to make Neil Collins loan move from Sunderland perm. this month. ...then they've also got Chilvers...Mawenne.... he'd be silly to go there, he'd be fighting from day 1 - he would walk into our team from day 1.
  16. Just found out some more info on him ...(wiki can be useful sometimes) ''When Ward was brought into the first team for west ham, for the 1-3 loss against Reading on 12 March 2005, the club were lying outside of even the playoff places and looked unlikely to make it back to the Premiership, a position that was perceived by many to be a major underachievement. The pairing of Ward and Ferdinand brought a level of confidence to the team that had been missing for the first part of the season and, perhaps because of this, the team went unbeaten for the rest of the season. This unbeaten run included the three playoff games, thus ensuring their return to the Premiership for the following season.'' ''His performances for Coventry (2 seasons ago) have attracted significant interest from Charlton Athletic and Fulham, or even a move back to former club West Ham for reported £2.5 million fees.'' This could be an absolute steal...
  17. More cov views - ''Elliott Ward is a good player, he would get into most teams if he was prepared to do what was asked. He is very talented, but he forgets he is a centre back and sometimes worries too much about tryingto be fancy than actually defending. I always describe him as a poor rio ferdinand (west ham days). Coleman told Ward when he came in that he wanted him to concentrate on being a defender, and stop the fancy play and trying to take people on, but he didn't listen and it cost him his place. If he'd have listened, he'd be a quality player and nt just a good player.'' sounds to me like he is the ''ball playing CB'' that we've been crying out for (he may need to tone down a bit though....)....but it would leave Jaidi to do the dirty work and heading...
  18. Apparently Ward is traveling down for a medical and to discuss terms tomorrow - the only worry is the imminent weather issues.... if it doesn't happen though, don't blame me! only passing on snippets of what I've heard.
  19. Tilson i think (or indirectly anyway) - it's in one of the southend echo's from before christmas.
  20. He's avaliable for 200-250k, i'd be shocked if we weren't interested at that price.
  21. the highlight for me was his crossfield balls to Kosowski....that's about all he did.
  22. sorry, but that is probably the most ridiculous thing i've ever read on here....and that takes some doing.
  23. More info on Elliott from a Cov fan - ''the rumour is he's on alot of money at are place and has had a spat with coleman he's certain to go somewhere in the next few months, but not trying to be a WUM or anything he is too good for League 1 and i would have thought he would join another championship team, i'm not certain how you lot are getting on this year but if you got promoted i could see it happening. P.S Visited Portsmouth for the first time yesterday and it was like being in a time warp truely one of the most backward places and biggest holes i've ever been too. PUSB''
  24. have you got the link to the site?
  25. that's the main thing for me, he never gives the ball away. Those sort of players are priceless in a team - you can give it to him and trust that he will retain it and intelligently distribute it. He's got the agility to get himself out of tight corners and crowded central midfield areas - He is such a cultured midfield player. Whilst he may might not stand out as much as Lallana, if you take him out of our side and we would drop a level.
