We were good today, not exceptional but all the players did what they needed to do. Yeovil came here and gave their complete all, that's probably as well as they've played all season - but we were resilient and solid enough to push them back. I thought the CB Pairing was excellent, Jaidi had a top home debut and i don't remember him missing a single header, he's very assured and composed in tricky positions and he got us playing from the back on a few occasions. Hammond in midfield was excellent too i felt, box to box, tackling and spraying the ball about - he was everywhere. Lambo did well - led the line expertly and i felt he worked quite well with Saga, who i must add gave 110% today - although he's lacking a bit of sharpness it must be said. Papa did ok - still a little rusty but he injected some pace down the team and could have scored with his 2nd touch! (ok, it was straight at the keeper - but he fashioned it well) He'll get better with games. Overall, 2-0 - easy and we have a win. I'd have taken a win with a goal in the 93rd min off a cows backside tbf, it didn't matter how we did it - just that we did. Onwards and upwards...

Confirmed by Pard's on the OS now - "Graeme we hope is around only around three weeks away and we look forward to welcoming him back in when he's ready." good news!

The players seem to be responding to it as well. I don't think anyone can deny that (so far in the last game or two) it seems to have made a big improvement...

Haven't heard - but he'd be a good signing. In a way though, he's kind of Similar to saga in stature and movement - can't see us having both.

Great news if true. He's the sort of player that could be the final piece in the jigsaw for us. Can't be underestimated how much we've missed that overlapping full back on the right....

Thats my fear - if we don't score early, then it will be a long long slog IMO. If we do get an early goal, it could be a big score.

i think he will - they're really struggling for numbers atm, as Ince was talking about it on monday night.

Good move for me. He's getting experience in the division we're in, and he's playing for a competitive team in this league. He'll come back better for it IMO. - much more worthwhile that going to L2 on loan i think.

500k i think. interestingly (i know it's not the real world..!) but on FM, we have a ''agreed price'' of 750k on the loan, and this is from the latest DB update. but anyway, i think if we showed them near on £1m they'd accept.

I expect us to win, the key will be getting an early goal as if we go into the 2nd half still 0-0 then it could be hard work. Yeovil will obviously come with some sort of plan to stop us playing (i doubt they'll be massively adventurous, as a draw will be a win for them)..but the bonus being this time we have a few surprises we can throw into the mix (i.e papa). I think Yeovil are a cracking little club - but comparing the resources and squads, it should be a win for us - our best chance this season to get off to a winning mode. They have only won 3 games in 28 league games. They're not a very good team these days.

We've become very hard to beat, there is a real desire all over the pitch which you can sense. Once you have this mentality, then wins are only round the corner. It's just not happening up front consistently for us yet - but as we have the leagues top striker in lambert, it's only a matter of time. everything is in place for us to start moving up the league at real pace.

i agree 100% with you on that. they seemed to be ''planning'' for an instant bounce effect, rather than long-term planning. This is what we have now and we're bloody lucky at that. close shave with pinnacle - agreed.

Great post - agree with every word. The building blocks are being put in place at all levels of the club, and all the indications so far indicate that these building blocks are being laid on sound foundations. If you get that right, long-term success is only around the corner

I agree with you. Pard's has started with the defense...we coneeded some shockers v huddersfield - but we've been a different defensive 'team' since he's been able to add reinforcements. Trotman has been key in that - i wonder if we'll try a sneaky bid for him in January? worth it IMO.

He's living in cloud cuckoo land. They can't even sell out their bloody shed, even with discounts, kids for a quid and free school tickets. How can he say ''8 million supporters''? To agree with Paul Merson y/day (not often i do mind...), he said that if they go down, they'll never come back up - and i do agree. i think it's quite funny that they've been taken over by a ''Falkia'' type. We're getting the tough games away early - which is good. Huddelsfield away, Millwall, Charlton away......doesn't get much harder than those (ok, leeds away will be tough, but again we can get that away early, as i think we play them in November?) our 2nd half of the season is looking attractive...
